But it would be so helpful if you could Albanian too! Many thanks ### 1/5 — Disappointed with no explanations how to use *2020-03-04, version 3.0.0* Starts with some game that’s not explained and I have no idea what the words are it’s saying in Russian. I need to know the basics at least before just throwing some game on that has no explanations. It’s not what was shown in examples displayed. ### 2/5 — App Is Incomplete. Not as advertised. *2020-11-29, version 3.0.0* Great app, but only 2 ‘modules’ (time and fill-in-the-blank) seem to be present for any language I switch the settings to. Learning Russian and the two modules are helpful, but the app advertises features it doesn’t yet have. Frequently doesn’t remember this fact and I have to “reset.” Then the sound effects (“ding”) stop for no apparent reason. Now it is no longer keeping track of my points. I deleted the app and reinstalled to correct some of the issues but then it lost all of my information. I’m going to investigate other apps. Hopefully they will be better. ### 3/5 — Good base - needs work *2020-06-16, version 3.0.0* Paid $4.99 instead of the advertise $9.99 for the lifetime Pro version. They must’ve correctly lowered it because this isn’t worth $10 as it is. Games are fun and useful. $4.99 is barely with it. What I want to see: 1. Leaderboard with other players to gamify the experience. 2. My scoring doesn’t work so I don’t see my tally on the main page. Update - sometimes it shows, sometimes it doesn’t. Inconsistent. 3. Metrics over a longer period of time than just a week. 4. A more natural and less computerized voice. 5. Personal bests for each game. 6. A sped up version that does not distort the voice much and does not (according to other reviewers) erase your scores by choosing that speed). There is on other app in the App Store that has no rating made by a doctor with in-app purchases. Maybe that is better. I didn’t buy it because some guy on Reddit who went from 0 to C1 fluency in French in a year said he used this app from B2 to C1 fluency. All in all, I recommend it. Update - I restarted my phone and now the app shows my score. Not sure why I needed to do that. Maybe it has something to do with buying the pro version. I do enjoy the time spent and streak tabs on the home page. What brings it home for me is that it shows total hours/minutes (I wonder if it’ll do days) spent on the app AND is drills down to minutes spent per day. It seems you can go back to any day every spent. I love metrics so that is useful to know. ### 3/5 — It does its job but has some problems *2019-12-15, version 3.0.0* THE GOOD: If you’re looking for an app to practice auditory recognition of foreign numbers, this is a good choice. It’s easy to use and has a decent amount of languages to pick from. You can adjust the number range, time length of games, and speed. THE BAD: the voice is not very authentic. It’s a computer voice reading numbers so pronunciation isn’t all that great. If you increase the speed it just sounds like its on fast forward and it’s not very authentic. Because of this, the speed settings are pretty much useless. One suggestion I have though is that in Chinese when giving someone your phone number people usually say yao 幺(yao) instead of 一 (yi) because 一 (yi) can be mistaken for 七(qi),but other than that the app has been perfect for me. You normally don’t get enough practice with numbers to be able to decipher them at the lightening speed requirements . Doing, let’s say, a walking tour in German, I would understand everything but the dates. This app is the solution! After about 30 minutes worth of playing with it, my ability to accurately understand those “backward” German numbers skyrocketed and they were no longer a problem! The app has also been great for my newest language, Hungarian, with numbers that sound nothing like their counterparts in any other language I speak....
