When there is 🎧 to listen, it never works. (NOA is equally awful.) The margins / formatting of articles is laughable. I might as well just be on the web using Safari’s reader. Less academic than Foreign Affairs (if a little less deep at times), and more expansive on geopolitics than the Economist. The App however if weak. Who wants to try to deal with flipping through what is essentially a PDF version of the magazine. Worked once, then immediately prompted to login. Now I can’t open any article. However, when you exit out of the app (to answer an email, for instance) and later return to it, the page will be blank. You will be forced to return to the Home Screen with no way to return to the article you were on. I wish there were a history feature. No. But you’re basically paying for a garbage podcast (worse than what you can get for free from dozens of sources, including radio) and a blog format (text only) app interface, with quality worse than what you can get for free, again, from dozens of sources (including newspapers). Editorially, better than The Economist, but more than 1 article in 5 is just garbage that should not have gone to press at all (most often crude propaganda, occasionally sophomoric opinion pieces written from sincere ignorance). Current editor in chief seems to be moving news site in a more global direction and has some very interesting interviews on the podcast. My only gripe is that when I leave the app, my place in the app is lost.
