Often bikes have faults or the unlock won’t work, or issues with the app. Left me stranded too many times ### 1/5 — I had to pay to sign up *2026-08-18, version 11.14.1* I was charged during sign up without any kind of warning. I'm sure this goes against the App Store T&Cs. Really bad user experience. Also, the "30 minutes for £1" offer feels like a marketing trap. After you sign up and they charge you to verify your credit card, which they don't refund, you see a message saying that you need to find a golden bike to get the offer. Of course, there's only one available, miles away. ### 2/5 — Good bikes bad app *2026-08-17, version 11.14.1* Bikes are great, prefer to any other service. However, there have been countless times when I have missed trains or lost out on purchased minutes because of the app - be it poor design or just plain breaking. I don’t have time on my commute to spend 5-10 minutes fighting with a forest bike to get it to unlock. Not knowing whether I’ll be able to unlock a bike once I’ve trekked out of my way to get to it is a deal breaker. I’ll be using other services for the foreseeable, which is a shame because I really would rather use Forest.
