## What is Forest Maps 2?

Forest service maps on your iPhone or iPad!  This app includes all areas mapped by the United States Forest Service.  The map is a single, continuous map, so there's no need to search through menus to find the map you need.

Save favorite spots with map markers that use iCloud to synchronize across your devices.

Upgrade to Pro and get:
• Map downloads.  Going off the grid?  Download entire forests for use when the Internet is unavailable.  GPS-enabled devices such as the iPhone and the Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad show your current location on the map, even when you have no network connection.
• Track recording.  Record your track to see where you've been.  Each track shows its distance, duration, average speed, and elevation profile.  Share your tracks with other Forest Maps users, open them in Google Earth, or export to a GPX file.

I have not used the app yet. I just downloaded it today but it shows a charge for an in app charge of “Pro” version. I definitely did not sign up for a PRO version when I’ve not even tried it yet. How is this possible? A park ranger told me about the app and I downloaded it, free version yet I was charged. Why? I tried to report it to Apple but they show nothing to refund. Go back to purchases and it’s there. Is this a SCAM? How can I be charged for something I did not get?

**Developer response:** The “Upgrade to Pro” button at the bottom of the screen is optional. Forest Maps is a free app. If you choose to upgrade to Pro, you’ll have the ability to download maps for use when you have no internet connection.

Absolutely reliable for accuracy, used it for logging last year. Kept me on public land within 100ft. US Forest service even came by and warned me I might be on private property but I busted out the app and showed him my position and was good to keep logging! I ended up paying for in app upgrade, it’s my main phone map and I absolutely recommend it!
