## What is Forest Photo Organiser?

Your camera roll holds the story of your life. Somewhere past tens of thousands of captures, that story gets hard to see, and "I'll sort them one day" quietly becomes never.

Forest is a calm, considered way to work through a lifetime of photos. Not by racing the whole camera roll or mindlessly swiping left or right, but a fortnight at a time, so you're never overwhelmed and never rushed into a decision you'll regret.

Open a fortnight when you have a few quiet minutes. Keep the moments that matter, let the rest go gently, and move on. It's not about clearing space so much as deciding what you want to carry

WHAT FOREST DOES
• Work in fortnights. Small, finishable boxes instead of one endless camera roll.
• Keep your best. Save the photos and footage worth holding onto to an album you'll actually revisit.
• Let the rest go, calmly. Binned media wait safely until you choose to clear them.
• Reclaim your storage. Watch the space add up as you go.
• A gentle pace, never a scoreboard. No streaks, no confetti, no pressure.

QUIET BY DESIGN
Everything happens on your device. Nothing ever leaves your photo library without you, and nothing is deleted until you're ready. The photos and videos you keep are saved to a real "Forest Album" in your Photos app [full access needed], so your work lasts even if you stop using Forest.

A quieter relationship with your memories, one fortnight at a time.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.1.1 — 2026-08-01

Small fixes and improvements:
• A video's sound now stops the moment you close it.
• When reviewing new items in a sealed box, swiping stays among the new items.
• Better support for limited photo access: add more photos from inside Forest, with clearer notes on what needs full access.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-22

Videos are here.

Your videos now sit in their fortnights alongside your photos, so you can work through everything in one place. Play them at your own pace (including faster, to skim a long one), keep the ones worth holding onto, and let the rest go. Videos are usually the biggest thing on your phone, so this is where the space really adds up.

• A new Stills / Motion filter, for when you want to look at just your videos or just your photos.
• Live Photos play, and carry a small "Live" mark.
• The Overview now shows how your library splits between stills and motion.

If you'd already sealed a fortnight, you may notice a small dot on it. That's just Forest letting you know a video was waiting there. Open it whenever you like. Nothing is decided for you.
