Confession: I'm not a huge reader. But my wife is. She reads 50+ books a year and asked me to build something that could discover books from what she genuinely likes and dislikes, reveal her reading taste, and go deeper than “another book by the same author.”

So I built Forewords. It's a reading companion, not a social network or streak tracker. I'm not trying to make you read more — you already do that. It's independent, meant to stay affordable, and will always have a free version.

I use forewords to track the books I’ve read and want to read, and the suggestions for related books are really useful, sometimes surprising but it’s a great way to discover new books to explore.

Forewords is such a lovely book tracker. I especially love the AI recommendations, which feel much more personal than just being given a list of books based on what you've read. It actually explains why you might enjoy each recommendation, which makes discovering new books much more fun.

The UI is also beautifully cosy and makes keeping track of what I'm reading feel like a much more pleasant experience than just using a notes app. A great app for anyone who loves books and is constantly looking for their next one.
