## What is Forge for AI?

Forge: File Convert for AI turns files into clean Markdown you can copy into the AI tool you already use.

Bring in PDFs, Word documents, XLSX spreadsheets, images for OCR, web pages, website URLs, Markdown, text, code, JSON, XML, CSV, TSV, RTF and RTFD files. Forge converts them, stores the original beside the Markdown result, and gives you simple copy and share buttons so you can paste the content into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or your own workflow.

Forge is intentionally simple:

- Home: see the file-to-Markdown workflow, supported file types and potential data savings
- Convert: import files, scan with OCR, convert website text from a URL and copy the result
- Store: find previous conversions with originals kept alongside Markdown
- Settings: manage access and clear stored files
