## What is Forge Strength Trainer?

Forge is a strength training, nutrition, and body composition tracker built
for people who want to log their training without paying a monthly fee,
signing up for an account, or handing their data to a server. Everything you
log lives in a local database on your phone. There is no cloud. There is no
sync. There are no ads, no analytics, and nothing to subscribe to.

One purchase. That's it.

TRAINING
Build custom splits with any number of training days. Log sets with automatic
rest timers (1, 3, 5, or custom minutes). Tap any set to see exactly which
plates go on the bar, per side — 45, 35, 25, and 15 lb bars, with a warning
when a weight isn't loadable with standard plates. Every working set is
scored against your previous best with an estimated 1RM, and PRs are flagged
on the spot. Warmup ramps fill in with one tap and stay out of your working-set
volume. Also includes drop sets, supersets, bodyweight tracking, a catch-up
queue for missed sessions, and a session timer that starts on your first
completed set — not when you open the app.

WEEKLY VOLUME
A live count of working sets per muscle group, each with an evidence-based
target range. Bars show under-, in-, and over-range at a glance, so you can
spot the under-trained area before the week is over.

NUTRITION
Derives daily calorie and macro targets from body composition using
Katch-McArdle BMR or Mifflin-St Jeor formulas. Includes barcode scanner via
Open Food Facts, macro calculator, daily macro rings, and 14-day trend charts.

BODY
Tracks weight, body fat %, lean mass, circumferences (shoulders, waist, arms,
chest, quads), week-over-week deltas, and 8-week trend charts with goal
progress bars.

REST DAYS
Rest days aren't blank. Forge offers guided stretch and mobility holds, scoped
to the muscle groups you trained in the last few days.

APPLE HEALTH (OPTIONAL, READ-ONLY)
Pulls duration, average heart rate, and active calories from Apple Watch
workouts.

ONE-TAP CSV EXPORT
Exports measurements, food log, and set history as plain CSV files.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.1.1 — 2026-08-19

PLATE CALCULATOR
Tap any set to see exactly which plates go on the bar, per side. Handles 45,
35, 25, and 15 lb bars, and tells you when a weight isn't loadable with
standard plates.

PR DETECTION
Every working set is now scored against your previous best with an estimated
1RM. Beat it and Forge flags the PR on the spot.

SESSION TIMER
Starts on your first completed set — not when you open the app — so elapsed
time reflects actual work.

WARMUP RAMPS
One tap fills in a full warmup progression up to your working weight. Warmups
still stay out of your working-set volume.

VOLUME TARGETS
The weekly muscle grid now shows evidence-based target ranges per group, with
bars for under-, in-, and over-range.

REST DAYS
Rest days now offer guided stretch and mobility holds, scoped to the muscle
groups you trained recently.

ALSO
Weekly training summary on the home screen, a consolidated Profile screen for
goals and data export, and a fix for the date picker snapping to the wrong
date.

Added stretches to exercises and app will automatically prompt cooldown exercises after a session is completed.
