## What is Forged?

Recovered knife from a stabbing investigation? Switchblade or legal folder under your state's knife law? Antique blade in an estate intake? Custom-forged knife with an unfamiliar maker mark? Forged identifies edged weapons and knives from a single photo using AI vision. Point your camera, get a structured ID card in about 5 seconds: maker, model, blade material, lock type, legal classification where it varies by jurisdiction, and historical context.

- Photos processed by an AI vision model (Anthropic Claude) under an API agreement that does not train on or retain submitted images
- Forged does not retain photos on its servers; identification results return to the officer's device and stay there
- No officer ID, badge number, department, or case ID is collected by the app
- No transactional knife purchase or carry data is collected or shared
- Per-request cache lives only on the officer's device
