Physically and technically, they are a masterpiece. My individual stroke metrics—like head pitch and roll—consistently score between 70 and 90.However, FORM’s overall "Form Score" has a massive blind spot: it does not account for age-based pacing metrics. At 80, my 50-yard freestyle pace has naturally gone from 45 seconds to 1:15. Because the algorithm treats a senior masters swimmer the same as a 25-year-old, my overall score is permanently stuck in the 20s. It is incredibly ego-deflating to finish a highly efficient, excellent workout—especially while recently recovering from surgery—only to be insulted by an unyielding algorithm.Building an age-adjusted baseline into fitness software is basic data science. I have formally escalated this issue through FORM’s product support channels twice over the past year. While the support team was highly professional and promised to pass the feedback up the ladder, the engineering team has failed to act. So I cannot set them up. Goggles seam to be of good quality, going to register and see how the goggle work . ### 2/5 — Inaccurate pace for 20m pools *2025-07-14, version 3.15.0* Regrettably the innovation of Head up functionality is totally undone by inaccurate data. 20m sets display faster pace due to operating as 25m sets and only provides correct data after the set so the goal of live tracking is rendered useless. Shame for those of us who do t have 25yard or 25m pools. Not exactly a difficult fix for a supposedly innovative leadership team from UBC. ### 1/5 — Can’t use the goggles unless you enter credit card *2025-04-26, version 3.12.3* Just downloaded the app and it there is no way to close or bypass the pay part of the app. The goggle will not pair or update until they are synced with the app. There needs to be a close feature or some way to bypass the free subscription. Sure the first month is free but I always forget to cancel them and then get charged and I just do t want to deal with entering my cc info. My goggles also state I need to update when I JUST installed the app! Poor directions in app for set up. I used to be a corporate trainer, some steps are thorough, others are not. Extremely disappointing. Even if you can cancel without payment you are forced to start it - handing over your info to yet another company. Why would anybody pay $120 a year to see their heart rate info. I am not comfortable putting my card information into an app and I already payed like 200 bucks for these dumb goggles anyways. The fact you need to buy a membership to even activate the goggles is a sin. Je parle un peu anglais mais je peux vous assurer que les conseils techniques de mouvements et de nage en anglais … et bien on ne comprend rien et ça rend l’abonnement premium parfaitement inutile pour un français lambda. It sure did. Goggles fit and don’t leak and the smart goggle features are wonderful especially the built in workouts! I had doubts buying the goggles which need monthly subscription to use them, but this premium headcoach is awesome 👏 It monitors your technique and provides really good feedback about your skills and how to improve them. The trainings it creates are great, like you hire a real coach, and maybe even better. I've been swimming with them for 6 months now. The app syncs up to Strava quite easily. I had an issue with a recent update to the firmware and FORM was quite responsive in fixing a feature for me. Great customer service. One small complaint would be about how often they nag about premium features with pop ups in the app. ### 5/5 — Year 2 with FORM *2024-12-29, version 3.9.2* New FORM 2 Goggles The FORM goggles were life changing. The FORM 2 Goggles fixes just about everything that I found concerning with the first pair. They fit so much bette. It’s like day and night. I can now push off the wall with confidence that they wont start leaking. Thats huge. The addition of the Heart rate monitor was an engineering breakthrough. Now I use my polar HRM for other tasks. I caught the goggles at a reasonable price. These are incredible pieces of technology and its worth every penny with the new design. They are also actually “slimmer”, less blocky. The only problem I have is that although they have also provided the unheard of technology of synchronizing workouts back and forth between different fitness platforms, there is a problem with TriDot. I think it’s amazing that TriDot can send the swim workout’s to the goggles and that the goggles can then report back to TriDot on how you did. That is AMAZING! The only problem is that TriDot ises interval timing to monitor a swim and FORM uses heart rate to assess your performance during and after the swim. This makes it difficult to gauge where you are sometimes but I have found a way to work with the FORM data fields to keep myself generally where I am supposed to be most of the time. Otherwise, these goggles are absolutely incredible and worth every dime. I wish I needed to use the Coaching and Training programs that come with the account. Maybe I will use their programs if I cannot get TriDot and FORM on the same parameter for workout intensity.
