Usability goes pretty far. One thing that is lacking is the ability to filter. This is a very good and useful app. Syncs nicely across my mac, iphone and ipad. Thank you! ### 3/5 — Nicer database, but missing search *2025-04-07, version 2.7.3* Formbook is one of the nicer database apps for the iPhone. Runs smooth even on my older iphone XS in 2025. The interface is clean with many field type options. Import and export supports CSV (even in free version), but the app does not export of image attachments. I did not try the collaboration in-app purchase. The search feature is extremely limited. It is currently a single search bar that is general keyword across all fields. There is no field-specific search option. For example, User cannot search specifically for Author: Stephen King. Instead when the User types “King” into the search bar the results will include Author: Stephen King and JRR Tolkein’s Title: The Return of the King. Also, there is a field for barcode with in-app purchase. Unfortunately, while the barcode can be added via iphone camera scan into the database the user can’t actually search via a scan to locate the object! Don’t make the same mistake as me and pay for that field if you expect to search by barcode using your iPhone camera. Other little things: a. A “Home” button would be useful b. Read-only mode would help prevent errant changes to field items. I have accidentally changed star-rating because that field is quiet sensitive. c. Allow image export along with CSV in relational folders. Overall, Formbook looks nice and would be an excellent database after some feature additions, but most importantly there needs to be the ability to search/query fields. ### 4/5 — Fonctions absentes *2025-03-31, version 2.7.3* Très bien mais dommage qu’il n’y aie pas de fonctions reprenant par exemple le cumul de toutes les sommes d’un champ ### 5/5 — Wonderful for Genealogy *2025-03-31, version 2.7.3* I have this on all my devices, it seems to sync instantaneously. I use it for genealogy, I have everyone (hundreds) on the tree listed with every conceivable piece of info which helps me with the to and fro of record checking (it’s always on my phone beside my computer) The numerous types of field you can have means I can have a note with everything from census years, generations, DOB’s parentage, offspring, you name it, all at a glance. Addresses with map location, media, I could go on and on, oh and linking to another notebook, export csv and pdf etc etc. it is a breeze to set up and is totally editable on the fly. It is a truly wonderful app. My only wish is for the ability to print a selected record..I know you can export as txt, then print but a print function would be great, hint, hint. Thank you for such a brilliant app. ### 3/5 — Suche? *2025-03-24, version 2.7.3* Das Programm ist einfach zu erlernen. Aber ich weiß nicht, was die Zielgruppe von dem Programm ist. Die Terminologie ist merkwürdig. Datensätze sind z.B. Notizen. Es gibt zwar einen Filter für Datensätze von heute. Aber was nutzt mit eine Datenbank ohne Suche? Gar nichts. Und das Programm hat eine Oberfläche mit Dialogen von iOS, was auf macOS wie ein Fremdkörper aussieht. Une petite amélioration tout de même serait de disposer d’un minimum de traitement de texte (gras, souligné, couleurs) pour les champs de texte long et d’un outil de recherche multibase. En attendant, je recommande tout de même tout à fait. Et manque des petites options pour la rendre complète dommage comme créer des dossiers de classeur. J’espère que ces options viendront rapidement. ### 4/5 — Excellent Start! *2025-01-07, version 2.7.0* This app seems like it has a lot of potential. I think it might be the perfect solution for my freelance business. I’ve been looking at using other project management platforms to keep track of my work, (Monday.com, ClickUp, Wrike, etc) But they’re overcomplicated and have way more features than I’ll ever use for a single person team. While, I would love to see more features come, like a calendar integration, attachments and possible different views (like a column view) I think It will already help me with productivity. My only issue is the macOS app doesn’t have a “New Note” Button! Please add that. :) ### 5/5 — Perfecto! *2024-12-18, version 2.7.1* Un pur bonheur cette application intuitive et fiable (par rapport à un tas d’autres applis de database assez indigestes…)! La suggestion des champs par l’IA facilite grandement la vie, il suffit de compléter ou alléger suivant ses besoins…Ah si! Une appli sur PC serait bienvenue (existe sur Mac) ### 3/5 — Du potentiel *2024-12-09, version 2.7.1* À mi chemin entre Apple note et l'ex Bento, chacun peut construire sa petite base en fonction de ses besoins. Un gros point noir pour moi : les tags (j'ai acheté cette option). Les Tags créés ne sont pas mémorisés dans une liste globale pour la saisie : il faut pour chaque note ressaisir le tag dans sa totalité quitte à créer des doublons lors de faute de frappe. Pas de sous-tags comme le propose bear. Pas de mise en forme possible du texte. On peut masquer le libellé de certains champs dans la vue note malheureusement ce libellé reste affiché dans la vue liste. Par exemple j'affiche dans la vue liste la date et un texte court qui constitue le titre et les libellés "date" et "titre" sont affichés dans vue liste pour chaque note surchargeant cette liste. Dès lors, l’intérêt de l’app est limité. Une base de données doit absolument permettre d’isoler des fiches selon plusieurs critères, c’est tout son intérêt, sinon, l’app apparaît comme une simple manière conviviale de prendre des notes, ce qui à mes yeux n’est pas suffisant. Il manque sur Mac-iPad-iPhone un logiciel qui se situe entre FormBook (trop limité) et TapForms (trop « usine à gaz » et qui va changer vers un modèle de souscription). On espère, on espère ! ### 2/5 — Partiellement payante *2023-05-02, version 2.3.0* Jusqu’à ce jour, application gratuite, puis devenue du jour au lendemain payante sans prévenir. C’est vraiment regrettable qu’après avoir créé une base de données de généalogie importante, il faille payer. Peut-être deviendra-t-elle bientôt sous forme d’abonnement. Devant l’incertitude des coûts futurs, je désinstalle. ### 2/5 — REALLY Needs Work ... *2022-09-22, version 1.4.11* This app has tremendous potential, but the visual interface and design are abysmal. Can't enter data in the "Title" area - every card says "Note" at the top. Can't separate data fields with dividers or spaces. Because there are no note "Titles" the center search column is a visual mess because it shows the field names. Would love to see this fleshed out properly because it has great potential. In it's current form however, it's next to useless. ### 3/5 — Handy but limited *2026-07-26, version 2.7.3* I just installed this app and can’t say anything negative about what it is or how it works based on my expectations. It would be a lot better if it could search records. I do it via notes now and this is WAY better. C’est chose faite avec Formbook. Cerise sur le gâteau, la version gratuite est déjà pleinement utilisable. Pour une somme ridicule et surtout unique, on peut débloquer des champs supplémentaires pour aller encore plus loin. Inutile de se priver ! Synchronisation parfaite avec les version Mac et iPad. Bravo et merci à l’éditeur de cette perle ! ### 5/5 — Makler-App *2025-06-05, version 2.7.3* Mit Formbook kann man sich wunderbar eine eigene Datenbank als Makler zusammensetzen. Die Möglichkeiten sind fast unerschöpflich und hervorragend durchdacht. Eine kleine Idee: Wenn man Vorlagen erstellen könnte, wäre das toll. Momentan behelfe ich mir, indem ich einfach einen Blanc-Satz anlege. Das ist aber wirklich eine Kleinigkeit und keine Kritik! Ich freue mich, wenn diese App es hier im Store überlebt und weiter mit updates bedacht wird!
