SCAM!!! *2020-11-15, version 1.2.0* When I first placed my order I got the large bottles, and right away tried to change it to the small bottles to try it out first. Tammy assured me I would be happy, if not she would send me a new formula. After a few days of using my hair felt horrible. Greasy, sticky, like I hadn’t washed in weeks. When I wrote in explaining my problem, Cassi told me to use double the amount of conditioner. I ended up having to use 15 pumps of conditioner (about 2 handfulls) to make my hair even feel halfway normal. Mind you this took weeks to hear back and get to this point. After I got back and told her, thats when she started ignoring my messages, and started sending me messages about giving out a discount code for friends and family. (Are you kidding me) So when I wasn’t hearing anything back I took to fb. As soon as I wrote this statement, I was blocked. So I took to Instagram. Same thing. So then I wrote them again through the app. Now all of our correspondence has disappeared. How convenient. When I tried to write again I get an error message. This place will take your money. Buyer beware. This product is garbage. ### 1/5 — Not a quality product *2020-09-06, version 1.2.0* Just tried my initial shipment of my ‘formula’ and was not impressed. The scent, ‘At Dawn,’ smells very artificial / heavy chemical scent. The shampoo was also exceptionally runny and watery, and my hair dye colored the lather. For a shampoo that was made for color protection, this did just the opposite. Thankfully subscription cancellation was easy, and I do like the packaging (which I will repurpose as to not be wasteful). ### 1/5 — No good *2020-08-28, version 1.2.0* Terrible, not very functional app. You can’t do much with your orders, I had to message to have a certain change made. It’s just not very appealing, you click on ‘manage orders’ and there’s nothing to manage. Function of Beauty’s website is much better than this app. I can’t even see my most recent order in the app, and I have no idea if it’s shipped or when to expect it. ### 5/5 — Great thought put into their product and services *2020-08-18, version 1.2.0* Formulate offers shampoo and conditioners which are very specialized and can help you achieve any hair goals. It may take trial and error to find the perfect formula, but this is fun and all part of the experience for me. I think this is good for people who know what they are trying to achieve for their hair, and it gives the user a lot of flexibility to try new things. I cancelled the subscription as soon as they sent the first shipment; I do not like subscriptions because then I end up with too much product. I also cancelled because it charged my card and took two weeks to get to me. Ten Days ago I saw a charge for Formulate on my credit card. I called them to let them know I canceled the subscription last year after I received my first order. They said that they did not receive that cancellation. They also informed me it was too late to cancel this order even though the product was not processed or mixed yet. Product is mediocre BUT COSTUMER SERVICE IS AMATEUR AND UNCOMPROMISING! ### 1/5 — Fire your designer. Stop outsourcing, hire someone good in-house. *2021-11-20, version 1.2.0* This app is not designed well at all, causing multiple issues at point of sale. I’m not just talking about the look/feel of the app (that’s a whole other issue), but the simple order flow on the app. As a UI/UX Designer myself, I’d be embarrassed to ship an app like this. ### 1/5 — Do not recommend *2021-08-10, version 1.2.0* If I could give 0 stars I would I only used it once and it was so horrible. My hair instantly felt oily and gross after the conditioner. After I rinsed it out I wasn’t even able to run my fingers through my hair it was oily and clumped all together at the roots. I let it sit dry for awhile and couldn’t even get a brush through it, i then blow dried it and still same results. Felt so gross and just clumped up. I re washed with my normal shampoo and my hair still felt gross from the formula for a couple days. It is now back to normal with my regular shampoo and conditioner. Do not recommend this at all. I should have listened to the other reviews ### 1/5 — Would not recommend!! *2021-02-18, version 1.2.0* I bought this shampoo and conditioner just to try it and see what it’s like. First of all, if you message your chemist, they don’t reply right away. You have to wait at least 2 days to hear back from them. I specifically put “no purple dye” in my formula, and they put it in anyway. My hair is usually greasy and that’s what I put on the quiz, and after using the shampoo, my hair was even more greasy and it felt like I haven’t washed my hair in weeks. The smell was awful too. As soon as I opened the bottle, all I could smell were chemicals. It was like smelling bleach. It went from straw-like and frizzy to manageable and shiny. The survey is ok but I suggest you use the chat function after the first round to speak with REAL scientists who can help you dial in the right formula for you. Be forewarned, it took a few revisions and many washings to get my hair off its silicone "junk food" diet, so you have to be patient.
