## What is FormuVet?

FormuVet is a clinical decision-support tool for veterinary professionals
working with dogs and cats. It puts species-specific dosing, safety checks and
everyday clinical calculators in one place, so you spend less time cross-
referencing and more time with the patient.

DRUG FORMULARY
Search an A–Z formulary of small-animal medications. Every monograph gives you
dosing by route — IV, IM, SC, PO — with the species it applies to, plus the
breed-specific caveats that matter in practice.

BUILT FOR THE CONSULT ROOM
• Quick Treatments — common presentations with ready regimens
• Drug Protocols and Chemotherapy Protocols
• Fluid Therapy and CRI calculators
• Calorie, gestation and blood transfusion calculators
• Chocolate toxicity assessment
• Natural remedies reference

SAFETY CHECKS AS YOU WORK
Build a case and FormuVet flags interactions live — a second NSAID, an NSAID
alongside a corticosteroid, or a drug contraindicated in the species you have
in front of you. Warnings surface before the drug goes on the plan, not after.

PATIENT RECORDS
Keep patient files on your device, add medications and diagnostics, and export
a clean, readable patient summary as a PDF you can print or share with an owner
or a referral practice.

WORKS THE WAY YOU DO
Dictate patient details instead of typing. Count tablets with your camera.
Switch between metric and imperial. Your custom drugs, protocols and home
screen layout sync across your devices.

FormuVet is intended for use by qualified veterinary professionals. It is a
decision-support and reference tool only. It is not a substitute for
professional veterinary judgment, clinical examination or diagnosis, and it
does not establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship. All outputs must
be independently verified against the full clinical picture before use.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.5.61 — 2026-09-27

Fixes to typing in patient details, especially on iPhone.

FIXES
- Breed search in Quick Treatments, Chemotherapy, Case Triage and New Case: the suggestion list now closes when you tap away, and the next button you tap works first time instead of only closing the list.
- Chemotherapy: typing a breed out in full now selects it, so breed safety warnings (such as ABCB1/MDR1) appear without picking it from the list.
- Case Builder: the breed field is now read out correctly by VoiceOver.
- A form sheet no longer slides up under the clock when you tap a field.
- The top bar stays behind the clock while the keyboard is open.

### 2.5.60 — 2026-09-26

A fresh new look across the whole app, plus dark mode and a quick dose calculator in the formulary.

NEW DESIGN
- Redesigned home screen with a personal greeting, tiles you can rename, move and hide, and a new quick-tools wheel.
- Drug Protocols, Formulary, Patient Files, ICU, Team Chat, New Case, Case Triage and Settings all updated to the new design.
- Every calculator and tool screen restyled: fluids, transfusion, CRI, calorie, chocolate toxicity, gestation, anion gap, bicarbonate, blood gas, osmolarity, chemotherapy and Quick Treatments.
- New intro slides and sign-in screen, with a "Need help to sign in?" link.
- Dark mode: turn it on with one switch in Settings.

FORMULARY
- Calculate a dose from inside a drug monograph: choose dog or cat, enter a weight, and tap any dose row to see what it comes to for that patient.

FIXES
- A filed case could come back as a draft.
- Drug cards no longer repeat the unit ("1 mg/kg mg/kg").
- Case Builder now records the patient's sex.
- Cloning a protocol dose now picks the matching formulary row.
- Natural Remedies and Heart Beat always show a back button.
- Several dialogs no longer sit underneath the corner button.

### 2.5.59 — 2026-09-23

A full A-to-Z review of the drug formulary, plus several fixes to the calculators.

FORMULARY
- Every drug from A to Z has been checked against its sources: doses, routes, species limits, contraindications and interactions corrected throughout.
- Removed misleading disease links that connected drugs to conditions they are not used for.
- A new info button on each monograph shows the sources behind it.
- Restored stanozolol, and repaired 26 entries caught by a new integrity check that now runs before every release.
- Edits you made to a drug in the app are merged with bundle updates instead of being overwritten - the newer copy wins.

SAFETY AND CALCULATORS
- Crash cart: propofol's maintenance rate was shown as a single bolus.
- Fluids: potassium is now checked at the rate you are actually adding to the plan.
- Dosing: the drug card no longer offers volumes the chosen units cannot express.
- Contraindications for a patient's existing conditions are now reachable from the patient wizard.

FIXES
- Signing a second vet in on a shared device no longer showed them the first vet's records.
- Android back button now closes the dock and quick tools before leaving the screen.

### 2.5.57 — 2026-09-20

Your own notes, on any drug.

• My notes — add your own notes to any formulary entry: a dose that worked, a point from a lecture or a paper, a reason you avoid a drug. They stay with that drug, build up over time, and follow you to your other devices. The formulary list shows a count against anything you have annotated.

• New patient — start a patient file from scratch in the Patients tab, instead of only by saving a treatment plan.

Fluid therapy
• The maintenance rule used for this patient is now shown on screen (cat, or one of three dog weight bands).
• Potassium supplementation is checked against the 0.5 mmol/kg/hr ceiling, with the fluid rate at which your concentration reaches it.
• A button hands the patient to the advanced ICU/ER calculator with species and weight already filled in.

Safer and clearer
• Quick Treatments: interaction warnings are one line each instead of full monograph paragraphs, and lead with the sentence that applies to the pair.
• Heart Beat Tracker now counts down to 12 bpm — it previously reset on every other beat below 30, exactly where bradycardia matters.
• The client handout gives the route an owner can actually use, rather than the first one on the monograph.
• Fixes to the patient weight field, the gestation date field, chocolate and transfusion text, and the Case Guide's "missing details" prompt.

Every feature now opens with the same header card and the back arrow in the same place, and content no longer scrolls unreadably behind the Dynamic Island.

### 2.5.55 — 2026-09-15

A new way to move around the app, and better precision on small doses.

NAVIGATION
• The bottom bar and the floating paw are now a single button. Tap the paw for your tools — calculator, conversions, notes, settings and emergency drugs. Press and hold it, then slide, to move between Home, ICU / ER, Patients and Chat.
• A short guide appears the first time so both gestures are clear.

PROTOCOLS
• Morphine is now an opioid choice in the premedication protocols, at 0.1–0.3 mg/kg for dogs and cats.
• Doses can be adjusted and kept per protocol.
• Work through several patients from one protocol without re-entering it.

DOSING PRECISION
• Small injectable volumes now show to two decimal places. A 0.08 mL dose was being rounded to 0.1 mL, and very small volumes could read "N/A (Too small)". A 1 mL syringe is graduated in 0.01 mL, so that is the precision you now get.

FIXES
• The calculator dropped everything before the last operator in a chain, so 2 + 3 + 4 came to 7. Chains are now correct, and there is a backspace key.
• The unit converter would not accept a decimal point, so 12.5 kg could not be typed at all.
• Emergency Drugs now prompts for a weight in the place the dose will appear, instead of showing a dash.
• Temperature and dosage conversions accept a comma as the decimal separator.
• Billing shows your current plan and opens subscription management.
• Correction reports you send are now delivered, not only stored.
