### 4/5 — Good but Needs Improvements

*2024-10-23, version 11.0.4*

I’ve been a patient at forward for a few years now and I’m the healthiest I’ve been since before Covid. My issue is with the app NOT the practice/care I’m receiving. The developers need to create a sound notification for the app when you get a message from the chat, an appointment reminder, ect. This is medical stuff we’re dealing with and it needs to be more efficient. If I get a notification, I need to also hear a sound to alert me that Forward is reaching out to me.

### 3/5 — So much potential

*2024-10-04*

I have been a Forward member for a few years. My primary healthcare is not proactive. Only good for emergency services and chronic illnesses and treatment of symptoms.

Forward was able to alert me that my cholesterol was high for my age (though within the “normal” range.) This allowed me to take a proactive approach and adjust my diet before any negative impacts to my health or receiving diagnosis like heart disease.

Unfortunately, after lowering my red meat consumption and making other dietary tweaks I tried to schedule a follow up appointment to see if my efforts worked. No appointments available AT ALL with anyone. I am in the Bay Area (where Forward is based) and have an option of about 4 different locations I can drive to. No appointments at ANY LOCATION. It has now be over two months and so I am going to cancel my membership. Not paying $160/month for a service I cannot use.

### 4/5 — Love it, Love the potential...

*2024-08-26*

It was more than I expected and the people are very nice... as a new technology it has its issues... the first time I came the weight program was not working... today is my second time and the had to reset it... something about the Computer, i think maybe the people running it where not un top of things... something to do with the Laptop... also, hopefully in the future it will be flawless, but nevertheless it was amazing, the blood work was taken by a on staff nurse and the results were done in 4 hours, it checked liver, kidneys, thyroid, diabetes, blood pressure, heart... the doctor was on top of it... I had a teleapointment in 2 days and my prescriptions immediately after at my preferred pharmacy... when or were have you ever had that service ever ???? I highly recommend you go and try it out... for $49 a month... I say go for it

### 1/5 — A Waste of Money / Bad Customer Service

*2024-03-20, version 9.3.0*

This was a scam. Getting an appointment in a timely manner was all but impossible. The doctors were clearly not interested in going above the bare minimum, and the customer support was awful. A note on customer service: I would message them with a medical concern or concern about an appointment, and it was common practice for someone to answer late at night while I was asleep, then pass my message onto the next customer service rep, then the next. It was clear that I wasn’t speaking to a doctor or medical professional, but rather some sort of call center team. Also, now that I no longer have a forward subscription, it’s quite difficult to access my medical records with them.

### 1/5 — FRUSTRATED

*2024-03-04, version 9.2.4*

can't reach anyone for help. APP doesn't work, & starting to feel its another scam. If you're going to be dealing with peoples medical/health stuff you need to have a Live person available to support them.

### 1/5 — Terrible mobile app, but great service

*2024-02-13, version 9.0.9*

The mobile app is awful. Poorly designed and difficult to use. There’s no logic behind their IA. It’s sad because the healthcare service that I’ve received has been great.

### 1/5 — Do not join

*2024-02-01, version 9.0.9*

Please do not join they will bill you unneccesary and there is no people toneesolve that. We don't get any number to call or to get support from them. Just a trash and liar company.

### 1/5 — Massive waste of time and money

*2024-01-31, version 9.0.8*

A good concept, terrible execution. No capacity, takes forever to schedule anything let alone get an answer via the app.. you will end up paying for insurance, for forward and for all tests because they won’t cover anything nor your insurance. Save yourself the time and money.

### 1/5 — Don’t fall for the videos

*2024-01-09, version 9.0.3*

This company is selling some “future” of healthcare that does not exist today. All of the videos and service they show doesn’t exist. I’ve been a “member” for over a year and there is no video board. It’s basically a really rude person on chat that goes back and forth with you. The future of healthcare is the same as the current version - really frustrating. To boot, the app is actually very buggy and the chat has minimal features. Nothing really all that innovative going on.

### 1/5 — Horrible TOTAL SCAM

*2023-11-18, version 8.1.26*

Waited over 7 hours to talk to a nurse practitioner and I still haven’t been treated. You’re better off saving your money and just going to an urgent care center or using a Teladoc app for $50 as you need to. The people do not respond here impossible to book an appointment, when they first started the service was very good now it’s horrible. THIS A SCAM

### 1/5 — Scam

*2023-10-26, version 8.1.19*

Do not trust this company. They ordered lab work and left me with $1,000 bill. Please take care of your own health, do not leave it in the hands of scammers. Be warned.

### 1/5 — Unimaginably bad - complete waste of time and money

*2023-10-19, version 8.1.19*

The worst app I have ever used. If you make a mistake it cannot be changed. If for example you choose the wrong state by mistake from a drop down box and proceed (say CT instead of CO) there is no way to go back and change it. Well, not no way. Going back and forth with "customer service" reps for 4 months eventually got it changed. 4 months of being billed $150/month... today, 4 months later, I finally have a drs appointment and of course the app is again unable to function... I was also mailed a "Sensor kit" to read my vitals. The batteries in 2 of the 3 monitors are "lo" and therefore unable to read my vitals... it really is a frustrating and almost comically bad UX

### 1/5 — Unable to login

*2023-10-13, version 8.1.19*

I am a paying member and have been unable to login for several months, and Forward support will not assist me

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Company has folded leaving patients scrambling.

*2024-12-10, version 11.0.6*

In mid November the company ceased operations after an ill-considered expansion into other areas burned thru its venture capital. Only way to contact is a generic email for 30 days. No referrals or handoff.

Company attempted to bill me $149 for a month of service in advance after shutdown. Then twice emailed my personal health records in an unencrypted PDF. Appalling!

### 1/5 — Do not use

*2024-12-02, version 11.0.6*

Company is out of business. Opening the app now just shows a “we’ll be back you’re in a queue.” If you go to their website you’ll find they’re out of business completely. Worst experience ever.

I want to find out who ran the company so I can avoid them like the plague.

### 1/5 — 2 years too late!

*2024-11-20, version 11.0.6*

I just received an email from forward FINALLY sending me my medical records that I requested back in 2022!! If I could give a 0 I would.

### 1/5 — App QA

*2024-10-11, version 11.0.3*

Currently can’t select a different location in the picker view and will select the first location when trying to change from the initially selected default location.

### 1/5 — Poor service

*2024-10-04, version 11.0.3*

Poor customer service. You guys pick up phones when you are luring people into joining your poor manage Forward nonsense but you refuse to pick up phone when we need help. I hate using apps and I’m from the old school, respect my mode of communication and that is direct verbal conversation via phone!!
 So ridiculous and uncaring !

### 1/5 — I wanted to like Forward

*2024-07-05*

When I first changed my Dr to Forward I was excited, it felt like a great new model for my primary care provider. It was easy and it felt like they really focused on preventative care. Unfortunately the quality has really decreased over time. They would make me repeat requests through different parts of their app to get care. They started sending my medication to the wrong pharmacies, which in a few instances lead to negative health outcomes for me.

Because they want to be totally digital they don't have anyone staffed in their office. So if you need assistance you have to walk around the office looking for someone to talk to. I finally decided to end my membership when I waited for an hour to be seen for routine lab work. no one came to get me and there was nobody to talk to, they saw a dozen patients in the time that I was waiting there.

I really wanted to like Forward, unfortunately, after being a member for two years, I've had to cancel my membership and go to a doctor values me in my time.

### 1/5 — The app kills the experience

*2024-06-29, version 9.6.3*

I have been a Forward member for a couple of years. The in-person experience is phenomenal. The app is the exact opposite, and unfortunately is their primary communication tool. It feels like using a first generation blog. The text messaging capabilities are inefficient, as messages as overlooked. Medical records get mislabeled and after repeated requests remain unfixed. In some cases medical records do not populate correctly or at all in the app.

### 1/5 — Dangerous: Canceled my prescriptions

*2024-05-03, version 9.4.1*

Like everyone else, this is VERY expensive primary care. I was mostly interested in their weight loss program so I was willing to try it. The program was a waste of money and the doctor gave me no personalized instruction but explained basic nutrition and keto. My actual doctor (with forward) cautioned me not to follow the original plan.

I cancelled after 6 months. I had refills of prescriptions to get me through to another primary care provider but I’ve now been told by my pharmacy that the care team cancelled my prescriptions. When I reached out to support I was told they would not authorize me to fill them because I was not a member.

I will now lapse in my prescriptions and be in WORSE health than before I tried forward.

What a disaster

### 1/5 — Was good for one second then huge fail

*2024-04-25, version 9.4.0*

Forward app needs updating. Forward itself you are paying maybe a nurse’s to answer questions slooooowly. The botched multiple blood test requests so I had to go fast multiple times. Failed to check blood tests and get back to me. Failed to input insurance codes and quest wanted me to pay a 500 dollar bill that was covered by insurance. So there you have it.

### 1/5 — It just gets worse and worse

*2024-03-21, version 9.3.0*

They lure you in with admittedly a cool first experience. Then it just slides south:

- you never know who you are messaging with
- their team doesn’t read any prior messages and you always have to restate
- their team very frequently just ignores you after you submit symptoms?
- their doctors are never available to be seen for a visit
- the app doesn’t work half the the time

Save yourself time and money, search for a “direct primary care” or “concierge care” in your city to get real proactive care.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2024-10-25, version 11.0.6*

Easy convenient, does just what I need

### 5/5 — Great experience

*2024-08-22, version 9.8.3*

Amazing experience! I did the full checkup including blood work and got my results the same day. I’m so impressed with this pod. The future of healthcare is here; No more waiting for an appointment for annual checkup.

### 5/5 — Amazing Service and Medical Support

*2024-04-04*

I used Forward for over a year. Forward offers a great service provided to people who occasionally need care but want to have more autonomy in the process. The staff were always courteous and responsive the doctors listened to my medical concerns on a deep level and responded with medical protocols that helped me get well or optimized my health improvement. I always got a quick appointment virtual or in person. There were no in cue waiting for prescription refills or review of documents for referrals to specialists. This meant I didn’t need to miss time from school or student research to organize all of the administrative moving pieces that come along with healthcare appointments. Being with Forward also got me on a positive path for medical weight loss support, although this wasn’t my initial reason for the service.
The app and biometrics were game changers in having my documented medical experiences believed.
My only area that caused my cancellation was the monthly service cost. It became a budgetary challenge to have Forward and my medical insurance premiums.
If my budget increases or their pricing structure changes I will definitely consider using their services again.

### 5/5 — Great service

*2024-02-27, version 9.2.3*

The chat is super responsive. My onboarding virtual visit was great, they opened up like 4-5 issues, got old doctor records from 2000-2011 which Stanford never did. Going into the mall at 8:15am for a blood draw takes like 8 minutes. Super nice people

### 5/5 — How health care should be for everyone

*2024-02-26*

I’ve been a fan for years. This platform combined with the professionalism of the doctors makes it an essential self-care service in my life.

It’s always been challenging for me to stay on top of my preventative maintenance health stuff. Forward makes it possible.

Tracking all of my health concerns consistently — from blood pressure to mental health just makes sense. From skin cancer screenings to vaccinations and referrals I’m beyond impressed with my care team and service. For the price sometimes I feel like I’m getting away with something.

I pay for this on top of my insurance but value the service it’s like a luxury concierge I can’t live without.

When I can’t do telehealth or get an immediate answer in the app, a visit to the office (in a gorgeous new part of Miami) is an adventure for me. I trek down from Fort Lauderdale but I make a day of it.

I can’t recommend Forward enough and wish it were the default standard for the world but until then I’ll keep telling my friends.

### 5/5 — Convenient comprehensive care with smart doctors

*2024-02-16*

I was unhappy with my HMO insurance, and I had been following Forward for a while. When they opened in my city I decided to try them out. My onboarding appointment was extremely comprehensive. The doctor spent over an hour with me, going through my history and discussing my concerns. Within a week I also had an appointment to discuss my genetic testing results, which I found valuable. Then I had lab testing which uncovered a few issues that we are addressing. They have been prompt with follow up and I am able to easily ask questions when I have them.

I have found my main doctor to be smart, empathetic, and willing to work with me. We decide together how to move forward, discussing pros and cons, which is the opposite of what I have experienced in the past (where the doctor looks up what the HMO will cover and that’s the only option you’re given). As with any service like this, a lot of your experience will be dictated by the individual doctors, but the 4 that I’ve met so far were great.

Could the app use an overhaul? Sure. But I also think it has improved since many of the reviews were written. I don’t find it hard to navigate or use. If there are issues, I just chat in and someone helps me (usually within an hour).

Overall, I find Forward to be well worth it, especially for someone who wants a more “tech forward” approach with virtual visits and everything handled online.

### 5/5 — This is how healthcare should be!

*2023-12-12, version 8.1.26*

Forward is redefining how healthcare should be. Absolutely loving my membership with Forward!

### 5/5 — Worth every dollar and every minute of patience

*2023-10-03*

I rarely leave reviews, let alone positive ones, - simply because excellence is expected, isn’t it? But I am a “convert” into having doctors monitor me in health rather than in sickness - and to prevent sickness from happening. American medicine has warped and twisted economic incentives - it is enriched and rewarded through selling us more drugs for the longest time and providing most expensive (often unnecessary) medical services - NOT for curing us and keeping us from getting sick again. Whatever glitches this new business might be having that other reviewers may have pointed out - I’m a supporter no matter what, as they got the one thing right that matters to me the most.

### 5/5 — Forward has changed my life trajectory

*2023-08-30, version 8.1.17*

While the all is a bit buggy sometimes, doctors and the proactive healthcare plans have literally changed my life. The doctors are warm and caring and take their time with patients. You feel like a person, not a number in a system

### 5/5 — Way Better Than General Practitioner

*2023-08-30, version 8.1.17*

I have insurance but finding a general practitioner these days is difficult and/or very impersonal. You can see them every month in person and they also answer medical questions via the app. You can ask them via app advice on allergies and even send a picture of a mole to advise if you should see a dermatologist. This is definitely the future. The bad reviews for the app do not reflect the actual service of the platform.
