## What is Fossil?

Find the cheapest petrol and diesel prices around your location, and throughout the UK. Using data submitted to UKGov by the fuel companies themselves Fossil Fuel is super-privacy focused, there's no tracking of you or your data,  and no sign up required!  Your location data never leaves your device! Work out whether it's worth going out of your way to save a few pence.  No adverts too!

Fossil offers 20 price updates for free, and then requires a subscription. The six-monthly subscription comes with a one month free trial.
The subscription allows you to set a favourite fuel station so you can make direct comparisons in cost and distance. It also allows you to compare routes on the map. You can also input vehicle details to get approximated costs in petrol for a journey and the approximate cost of a full tank of fuel.

There’s other pump price comparison apps but with this one you can set a journey (using chequered flag) then zoom in to see pump prices on or near the route. When you then select a petrol station it calculates the comparative cost of leaving your direct route to your destination, offset by the pump price.

The ability to Pin Stations -   Build your own list of stations that you always want the data for, regardless of how close by they are. See at a glance which of your chosen stations have the cheapest fuel.

It's all about the little things: We've made some fixes to speed up the listing of stations, with speed and performance improvements to the screen. The vehicle manager screen has been re-written for under-the-hood improvements, widget improvements, and how the app updates its prices in the background. A few interface tweaks and improvements. 
We've made some improvements to how it collects petrol & diesel prices in the background.

Widgets! - Well, one gorgeous widget really, but in two sizes, it shows the price of your favourite fuel station (using the fuel type selected in the Vehicle tab).
Background updates!  The app now updates in the background depending on how much you use the app. You can always manually refresh in-app. Look out for more widgets in coming updates. There are a few UI tweaks and improvements.
