## What is Fossil Discovery Center Museum?

Hello and welcome to the Fossil Discovery Center of Madera County's phone application.

An exciting way to learn and enjoy all about the Fossils found at the nearby Fairmead Landfill in Chowchilla, Ca.

This app will take you on a wondrous journey through our fossil museum. With our new app you can...

- Take a tour of our facility
- Watch many videos pertaining to our museum (Now with QR functionality)
- Take an audio tour in either English or Spanish (In Progress)
- Book a future tour for your school, friends, or family
- Try your knowledge of the museum with our fun quiz
- Gain membership points to be used at our gift store or future events (for museum members only)

The discovery of these magnificent fossils were made at the Fairmead landfill in Madera County, the site of one of the largest middle-Pleistocene fossil excavations in North America.

We feature fossils from the Middle-Pleistocene, 780,000 years ago. Mammoth, Smilodon, Sloth, Dire Wolf, Camel and Horse are just a few of the 15,000 fossils found at Fairmead with many more still being found.
