### 4/5 — Error message

*2019-02-08, version 2.0*

It shows an error message that requires access to the camera, but no permission can be given in the settings.

### 1/5 — UPDATE ALREADY!!!!

*2015-05-19, version 1.2*

IT HAS BEEN YEARS SINCE THERE HAS BEEN AN UPDATE!!

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2014-12-31, version 1.2*

Doesn't work for me ... Crashes ... I redownloaded it ... Still crashes at launch ... How do I get my money back ?

### 1/5 — crashes on iphone

*2014-10-04, version 1.2*

i'm running IOS 8.0.2, and it crashes while launching.

### 1/5 — Crash on startup

*2014-09-30, version 1.2*

I dunno how well it works because it crashes right after the splash screen.

But it's OK, because they have my money.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work on iPhone 4S with iOS 7

*2014-02-05, version 1.2*

I would love to review this but it will not launch. I have deleted and re installed it several times and it still will not launch. Lost my money!
iPhone 4S with iOS 7

### 1/5 — Doesn't work with ios7

*2014-01-02, version 1.2*

It won't start with ios7, keeps closing after start up.

### 2/5 — Lightmeter app review

*2014-01-01, version 1.2*

I don't usually leave negative reviews but this app isn't good.

The meter readings aren't very accurate and the user interface is unnecessarily complicated.

I gave it two stars because it's cheap!
(I'm deleting the app after writing this)

### 1/5 — Crashes on start up

*2014-01-01, version 1.2*

every time

iPhone 4S

### 2/5 — Works well until it crashes

*2013-12-31, version 1.2*

Help! This would be a lot more stars if it didn't crash (iPhone 4s, iOS up to date)

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2013-12-31, version 1.2*

App crashes and is unusable.

### 1/5 — Crashes upon opening

*2013-07-11, version 1.2*

Would love to use this app. Unfortunately it crashes every time I open it.

### 2/5 — Needs some issues addressed!

*2013-05-19*

First of all, the little preview window is ridiculous, its too small, i think an interface like the one found in "light meter" should be an option so that the image window is adequate! Why the heck is there a little glare across half the window like done on some apps? that is horrible when there is an incredibly small window and then you glare up half of it! Also, the iso dial freezes up from time to time. I paid money for an app that is poorly designed in some aspects.

### 3/5 — View Finder not working

*2013-04-13, version 1.2*

Everything works well except the fact that the camera is set for the front of the phone and not the back. I can't change it. If I'm taking a picture I'd like the reading in front of me and not for myself.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money on this app

*2019-08-05*

I am a photographer I have been taking photos from the age of 15 and I decided to get this app just to try it out boy was that a mistake.

This app does not work the calculations are way off They’re not even close to where they should be. Don’t bother with this app it does not work. As a matter of fact I want my money back.

### 1/5 — Not compatible with IPhone

*2019-03-24*

Not sure why they are selling this in the Apple apps store. It doe not work with IPhones. Don’t waste your money. I give 0 stars. Someone should take this app out of the App Store.

### 1/5 — Useless. Won’t connect to camera to work

*2019-03-21, version 2.0*

Like others, I am now getting a Permission Error, where it says I need to grant permission to access the camera in Settings, but then I go to Settings and it doesn’t give me that option

### 1/5 — Don’t buy

*2019-02-11*

Doesn’t work on iPhone X. Setup doesn’t see the app.

### 1/5 — Not working on iPhone XS

*2018-12-16*

Can’t turn on the camera permission.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2018-12-14*

This doesn’t work for iPhone X - no way to let the app have permission to access camera

### 1/5 — Does not work on iPhone XS and iPad Pro

*2018-12-05*

I loved this simple app for years. My recent update to new iPhones made this app useless. I am having same problem as others.

Asking for camera access permission on launch and takes me to settings. There I do not see this app to hand the permission. I hope the developer fix the issue.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2018-11-25*

I just downloaded it to my phone. I can’t give it permission to access the camera because it doesn’t show up in my settings. I’ve tried hard booting twice with no success. It won’t work without this permission, so I’m screwed. Waste of a dollar.

### 1/5 — New app update, new hidden fees

*2016-01-13*

This was a great simple light meter that I paid to have due to its simplicity and ease of use.

Now there is an update which looks nice but has added hidden fees.

Pay extra for this, pay extra for that.

No! That's why I paid for this app in the first place, not to get nickel'd and dime'd every time they make improvements.

There are other apps out there that do this without paying extra. I recommend using them. I certainly am going to.

### 1/5 — Grossly inaccurate

*2015-09-24, version 1.2*

The incident meter is grossly inaccurate

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — GREAT APP!!

*2016-10-21*

Enjoying this app for it's simple manual-like operation and accuracy.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2015-07-26, version 1.2*

Perfect meter you always have with you

### 5/5 — Good light meter with retro UI

*2015-02-14, version 1.2*

This light meter has been great while shooting with my medium-format film cameras. It saved me from buying a dedicated light meter device!

The user interface is that of a vintage light meter, so it may be a little foreign to some people, but the functionality is good.

### 5/5 — Give it a try!!

*2015-02-06, version 1.2*

If the app crashes when it opens, go to your "Settings" and make sure Fotometer has access to your camera. The meter is as accurate as my Minolta meter. Very handy.

### 5/5 — Completely worth it!

*2015-01-16, version 1.2*

Used the app instead of a dedicated and expensive spot meter.

### 5/5 — God's Work

*2014-01-01, version 1.2*

The most amazing app I'll never use

### 5/5 — should cost 10x as much

*2013-02-16*

I was hoping someone would make this app for a while. I like to keep my manual rangefinder by my side for street photos. It's perfect to have a phone based meter that I can get an incident reading and then set my camera before raising it to my eye. Super useful and hundreds less than my handheld meter.

I would love to see a spotmeter version in the future maybe.

### 5/5 — Only missing spot metering

*2012-11-08, version 1.2*

Nevertheless i rated it 5 stars because of how beautifully it was executed

### 5/5 — Works fine in the capacity of the camera provided.

*2012-10-28, version 1.2*

Bearing in mind that real light meters can read massive brightness ratios, and the iPhone's max BR is rather poor, I'd say this app is pretty good. It'll never work well in extreme conditions but as a 69p app for street/photojournalism/some landscapes, it's perfect.

### 5/5 — Like It Fine!

*2012-10-27*

Nice work you guys.
Great and handy tool.

I only wish for a scratch and sniff version of the leather pouch.
Which makes as about much sense as the inane negative reviews some people leave.

Good interface.
Readings match my Sekonic 328 pretty well. Certainly within tolerance.
It's handy to have and, for the dollar US being charged, can't be beat.

Wish list?
Spot meter, if at all possible.
Maybe a 'quick look' of the video, then touch the area of interest for the reading and back to the meter reading.
Nifty.

Thanks for making this.
Good luck in the future.
