I’m the father of a large family and we share many apps. But this one will NOT work. It requires $10/child, for each cycle. But why isn’t there a song for each subject? We struggle with Science the most because there are no songs for it. Plus, it’s way too overpriced. I found out they have the songs for free on YouTube! Plus others who created their own songs. I feel scammed for paying my money when they were FREE! And I wish you could skip the intro at the beginning and just go to the song. The spoken word is boring and we generally skip them. Would love that updated! ### 2/5 — No Timeline Song, No Repeat Option *2022-05-08* My husband is in tech development, so I know how hard it is! The features and items currently in this app work as they should, not glitchy, appears to have downloaded all content locally to my device, which in my case I prefer since I have the memory space and my internet connection is unreliable. For some people that could be a negative, if their device’s memory is already full. I hope the developers listen to the reviewers for future updates. Until then, I won’t purchase any more cycles. Some things parents would find indispensable: We need the timeline song, as so many have already pointed out. Specifically, the timeline song as a video that flips through pictures of the history cards. Make sure it’s timestamped, and we can move backward and forward, and have a continuous play (repeat) option. I have seen this resource in existence on a resource PC disk I once had, so the content is basically there, just needs to be added. Also, we need flexibility to create playlists, to play all the subjects from the same week on repeat, or to just repeat a single track. Also, most of us don’t want to listen to the talking/narration before the songs, so an option to turn that on or off. Most children memorize best with the music, and the narration only wastes our time trying to get to the song part. Along the lines of playlists, also a feature that keeps playing, so we can listen in the car to a whole subject at once, or one week after another, without needing to hit the “skip” button to move on. Keep up the good and difficult work—I look forward to these features being added in the future. ### 3/5 — Some annoyances *2022-01-11, version 3.00* You should be able to skip the narration before the history songs, or even not have them at all. It’s annoying waiting for a boring narration before singing the song. ### 2/5 — Why can’t we filter by week? *2022-01-06, version 3.00* Since the entire premise of CC is based on a WEEKLY system, the home page needs to have the information available by WEEKS. This shouldn’t be a revolutionary concept. So now I need to go into each individual subject and then scroll a ton of pages to get to the current week. How is this remotely helpful, at all? What a disappointment. If you want this app to earn such a price tag, it needs to do more than rudimentary menus and audio. And the spoken audio should be separated from the songs so that you can listen to the songs without having to listen to the spoken each time. ### 3/5 — It’s okay *2021-08-19, version 3.00* It really needs the Timeline song and the President’s song. My Challenge student said they changed the timeline tune. My younger kids can’t remember so they’re no help. Guess we’re just singing the old tune until it’s added to the app. I also did not appreciate being forced to buy the app again after changing from android to iPhone. I already paid for the material. Why pay again? Especially for such a pricey app. I’m willing to upgrade my rating if they add the songs ### 3/5 — App development is a little lacking. *2021-08-17* This review is just for the app functionality and not for the content. It would be so helpful to update the app so that you can skip the talking intros and go straight to the songs. Especially in history. Some of the sentences are so long and my kiddos want to be able to sing along several times in a row to learn the song. As it is you have to sit through the entire spoken part. I don’t like that I’m unable to skip through the narration/songs. I have to listen to it from the beginning. However, this app is a total disappointment. For $15.99, I was expecting something interactive that actually quizzes the kids on the memory work in fun ways such as games, fill in the blanks, etc. Instead, it just reads out the information and puts it on the screen. Seriously??!! Completely boring and not at all engaging or helpful. My children can read it themselves on a flip book or in the Foundations book without me having to spend additional money. I sure hope that future updates include MAJOR improvements. First, it would be VERY helpful to have the timeline song sectioned out with each week. The same way the history sentence is read, then sung... it would be great to have the same with timeline.
