My one BIG request if that there would be in update made to this app to reorganize the material into a weekly format, not just a subject format. The format of the memory work CDs had both formats: weekly & by subject. It seems a tremendous oversight not to duplicate those 2 options in the app! And if you make that fix, please add the Timeline song (in its entirety)! Mastery of these facts is hindered, not helped, by the clumsy design and organization of the material. The price for this app is high compared to the quality of function. I’ve never paid $10 for any app, except this one. ### 2/5 — Extremely basic. Better off using CC connected *2024-03-02* This could work for someone who is not already part of a CC community and wants to do CC at home. But if you already pay to be in a CC community you’re better off using the CC connected website. This app is not intuitive, and if you want to go to a specific week you have to start at week one and skip until you get to the week you’re trying to review. The timeline song is not available in this app. CC needs to have an app for CC connected, especially when they’re already charging families over $100 a year to have access to it. It’s a bummer that with the CC founder being an air space engineer the quality of the technology tools offered is pretty poor. ### 3/5 — A Great Resource…. Which is STILL Missing Key Features *2024-02-08, version 4.00* I’ll start by saying that, really, this has been a great resource overall. I saw complaints about price. It took me awhile to pull the trigger. But I finally reconciled that I have NO problems purchasing other resources for our schooling, and this is absolutely a tool. It keeps things simples on days when we just need basic. Graphics are beautiful, Weeks and Subjects are easy to access etc. HOWEVER - and yes this is a 2-Star issue!! Having to log in to CC Connected, and scroll down to the wee, and scroll down to the right link each week for Timeline can really put a wrench in things. The weeks are available on YouTube for heaven’s sake. Why would we who pay to have this resource not have available one of the most Foundational (pun intended) aspects of a CC education - THE TIMELINE SONG. I conclude that, even if it’s just by week, it’s really missing. Would I recommend this? Well… I mean, to myself. (For context I have 3 kiddos under 5, so we’re doing more listening than sitting/reading etc. Also, we’re in the go quite a bit.) Would I recommend it to others? Not necessarily. The lack of accompanying Timeline clips could be a deal breaker. If my kids were older it just might be for me. ### 3/5 — Wish there was a view of the whole 24 weeks *2023-12-19* I just got this app because I can’t stand cc connected. But after getting this app, they are both as equally irritating. The cd’s, which we’re discontinued, had everything so easily at you fingertips, (but not glued, along with your eyes, to a screen) to play the whole week through. I much prefer the audio CD because it contains the songs. The app does not even have the timeline song. It also only has the song for history. I downloaded because I thought all t songs were incorporated like the cds. But they are no. I know this has been asked for since the first release of this app (all cycles). This is IMPERATIVE to memory work, both in the class and at home. We also ask for you to include the timeline SONG in its entirety with the same slide navigation ability. It’s included when you buy the CD’s, but not the app. That is not logical. With so many of us on our phones today as we travel, sit in drs appts or other waiting rooms, etc, it would give the parents and students greater access to the whole content when they need it most. ### 4/5 — Love it, but it could be better. *2020-09-19* I Love that this is great for on the go when I’m not able to bring my book with me. Please update this app to have a test/quiz option, all of the songs, etc. The only reason I bought this was to help my kids with Memory Master prep but this literally just gives them the answers. There is no way to even use it to test their memory. Very, very, very annoyed that I just spent $15 dollars on this. Even though I have a fairly new phone it would not correctly rotate the screen in the app, messed up my ability to leave the app, disrupted up screen rotation for my phone overall, and did not have the timeline song. I think it had only songs for regular history work. I’d had been better off paying for CC connected subscription. This furthers my opinion, that while CC is a good curriculum at its heart it is just a money-making MLM. ### 1/5 — Possibly Useful for Some People *2020-08-03* This app sounds great in the description. However, when you actually get into the app it turns out to be a set of glorified flash cards. They don’t give you the ability to drill down for additional information on anything. The Foundations songs are not included and it’s only a narrator telling you what to know. There are no “week-at-a-glance” sections so you don’t know what will be covered until you get into the app and start using it. As much as I hate to admit this, the $100 curriculum is better suited to homeschooling parents who want information on what to help their child with. Even though the curriculum leaves a great deal to be desired, at least you know what to expect from week to week. Though more detail/guidance is always better. I’m a tutor and use it both in class and at home with my own kids. Please!!!! ### 5/5 — Just right for me *2014-10-14, version 2.00* I found we used the cycle 2 app more often than our audio CDs, so I decided to forego the purchase of the Cycle 3 audio CDs and wait for the app. As this app was downloading, I was disappointed to read the reviews stating that the songs were missing. My quick look at this Cycle 3 app tells me it is set up much the same as Cycle 2, so I'm happy with it. The timeline song is not on here, but the weekly look at the cards is. The presidents song is included, as well as math and history songs. For the reviewer who stated this should be on CC connected...it it. Look for Student Tutorials when you log in. It looks identical to me. If you see this review soon, you may have time to return your app purchase. Since I don't use anything but the tutorial on CC connected, I will now cancel my subscription and just use this app. ### 5/5 — Makes my life a whole lot easier! *2012-04-16, version 1.00* I am so grateful for this app. We cover Memory Work together at the beginning and the end of the week, but the kids review it on their own in between, and it frees me up to do other things, or have more one-on-one time with one of the kids. It is so easy to use (although I'd love a pause button), the graphics are great, and the songs are wonderful. Thanks for creating a fun and convenient way to review. Having it on the iPad makes it more fun for the kids, makes it easy to share/perform for Dad and grandparents, and makes everything more visual and mobile. I can't tell you how helpful this app is. Thank you soooooo much! ### 5/5 — CC Review *2012-02-20, version 1.00* I downloaded the app and had the same problem as others, no sound. I contacted CC to ask what I could do. She sent me to an Apple support page, which explained the screen rotation lock button on the side of your ipad. It also is responsible for muting certain apps. Basically, double click the home button on the bottom. Your apps should appear across the bottom. Slide your finger to the left until you see buttons for playing music. There is a speaker button. If there is a slash across it, tap it. The line should disappear. You now have turned the mute off for apps, and you should be good to go. I was hoping an app for CC would come out. It is just like the tutorials on CC Connected. Hope this helps. ### 5/5 — Love the iPad compatible CC memory tutorials!!! *2012-02-18, version 1.00* Love it!!! So convenient for the kids! Hoping the new history cards will be included for the next cycle or even a separate app for that! Well worth the money and hoping for many more iPad compatible products from CC.
