I do understand that it is maximum learning in minimal time but listening to the fast pace is difficult. Something though it is a little hard to navigate for example saving something you'd like to come back to ### 3/5 — Where are the features? *2025-12-15* I’m genuinely confused by the lack of features in this app. I enjoy the book summaries. The concept is great, but especially compared to the Fabulous habits/routine app, it seems super undeveloped. There’s no quiz at the beginning to create an “algorithm” of content you’ll find interesting. No way to bookmark books you’re interested in. No record of which summaries you’ve read/listened to or even how far you’ve gotten in the one you’re working on. Even the “dopamine detox” and blocking of distracting apps that’s advertised doesn’t seem to exist within the app. What’s up with that? Am I missing something? Is there a way I’m supposed to sign in or link to Fabulous to be able to access features? Whether in the application (which I reinstalled 2 times) or in a web browser, the application freezes according to my answers. I think I have repeated at least 10 times, without the slightest success. Very disappointing as an experience! ### 1/5 — Predatory billing practices *2026-04-07* I still have not been able to unsubscribe. It has been months. You can’t call and messaging them has had no answer for many people. I keep getting charged monthly. I cannot see them pop up on my app subscriptions in my phone and on the website there is no option to unsubscribe. You can cancel your account, but that will continue charging. Yet you persist!!!!! STOP FRAUDULENTLY DEBITING MY ACCOUNT! NOW! ### 1/5 — Scam type operation *2025-10-16, version 14.0.1* They hit you with a ton of upsells and multiple subscriptions when you sign up but then they don’t show up in your Apple subscriptions. Somehow they must hit your credit card and then I am guessing they show up in Apple. Anyway I would steer clear of this one. ### 1/5 — NOT THE SHOWN APP *2025-08-20* This app is not for reading and not for social media detox. The features in the pictures simply don‘t exist. This app does NOT allow you to block your social media. This app does NOT allow you to spend more time reading. Instead, it‘s all 3-minute AUDIO summaries of books which fail to convey more than the blurb because they are so full of fluff and short. ### 2/5 — Limitado a quem fala inglês *2025-12-07* Foi decepcionante descobrir que o aplicativo só está disponível em inglês! All i get is books but i have to manually go to the app and open them up. There is no choice for me to ban certain apps or set up times for me to learn Im confused, because right now it looks like false advertising ### 2/5 — Just Meh *2025-03-30* Many books included are pseudoscience/self help books from many years ago. If you want something truly helpful and grounded in research on how people actually function, this is not your place. A minor negative, there is no search so you have to scroll through to find relevant books. I listened to an excerpt of one and wanted to hear the rest of the summary, but couldn’t find the book anywhere. Very disappointing. ### 3/5 — Replace doomscrolling… with AI-summarized content *2026-01-20* Truly something better to do with your phone than IG doomscrolling, but be aware that the app does not provide in-depth book reviews nor their content in its entirety (I hoped it would at least compile direct quotes). It grants one with a quick and charming motivation boost, but don’t rely on it to actually get your reading list done (that’s not even its purpose). I’m not really pleased with the fact that you have to listen to the audio to get your streaks, I hope we can get an alternative alongside the lines of minimum reading time to light up your daily streak. Definitely not perfect but, as mentioned, it’s better than doomscrolling. Helpful book selection, covering mental wellness, good-habit-forming practices, how to eat better. Wish we could filter book topics and tailor them in a Settings menu for example, as parent-directed works are not what I’m looking for. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Free book summaries *2026-07-19* I stumbled upon Fountain and was pleased to find that they have book summaries there to choose from. There are some titles on Autism, some self-help that are cognitive behavioral, and other topics. Easily written about 8th grade level not highly technical but would likely serve for introductory presentations. Good for Jr. High to High School students but also for adults who need basic knowledge of a given topic.
