It’s stay’s the same size as the App icon - therefore the magazine is impossible to read ! Very frustrating and you have taken my £2.99 ! What a rip off ! ### 2/5 — New magazine design is a downgrade *2016-07-24* This used to be 5 stars. The magazine was optimized to be read on a tablet with the way you could jump to content, scroll, etc. Now it's essentially a photocopy of the print version which means that the type face is too small and you end up pinching to zoom in, zooming out, "sliding" the magazine, etc. Had been a digital subscriber for about a year, but won't be reupping now. ### 1/5 — 5.1.1 not working *2015-01-07* Really irritating that the new issue won't download on ios 5.1.1 which is my iPad 1 system. Help!?!? *2014-10-26* Hello, i recently bought a subscription of fourfourtwo and i enabled the digital versions for the extra £5. My first issue (october) worked fine but when i have been trying to download the next issue (november) it is not downloading and is just coming up with message 'please try again later' this is very dissapointing and i hope you have a way to fix this. Fix it asap! ### 1/5 — Excellent, but seems slightly slow to update *2013-06-05* I'm very impressed with the app so far - I already knew the magazine was great, and having an app designed for the iPad that is easily readable, rather than the lazy practice of just throwing a PDF on to the store as seen with some other magazines, is a big bonus. The animations and included videos are nice extras, and I've been told that the iPad version will also get any extra content that the print edition would, such as the season preview (when that issue is out in the future). My only slight complaint is that the app seems a bit slow to update when there is a new issue - I saw the print version of the latest issue (Brazil and England) this morning in the shop, but it still doesn't seem to be available to buy in this app. I'm sure that will be sorted though, and I'm looking forward to subscribing once the issue is available. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Chris Flanagan 🤦🏼‍♂️ *2022-12-26* A very deluded journalist that works for this magazine has stated publicly that Blackpool’s stadium is better than the Etihad! Worst journalism going ### 1/5 — Charges credit card won’t let you cancel *2021-09-28* This company is charging my credit card directly and then telling me I have to go to the Apple store to fix (no place to do it). I’ve been dealing with the customer support for weeks now and they don’t want to help. Just buy the physical magazine don’t let these guys take your credit card information. ### 1/5 — Very poor app *2021-07-24* I purchased the summer offer for all the back issues for £16.99. This totally messed up my app and deleted all back issues. I tried all the steps in the help section but I’m still getting an error -442345. I did this for convenience and it has caused nothing but hassle. Avoid at all costs and stick to the psychical editions. Could have been in and out to ASDA to purchase this at least 20 times by now. ### 1/5 — Poor *2020-03-31* App incredibly difficult compared to others ### 1/5 — 0 star should be possible. *2019-06-18* I bought a digital subscription through their website, downloaded the app as instructed, created a Pixelmags account and received an error message that “my account shows no credit”. I emailed the address they gave, which was returned to sender as out of service. I contacted the magazine directly and their only response was “you need to make a Pixelmags account”. Well yes, I did that and it didn’t work. This was more than 7 days ago and I’ve still not heard anything since, nor am I able to access the magazine. Avoid like the plague. ### 1/5 — Terrible on IPhone X *2018-05-13* This is basically terrible on the iPhone X and has still not been updated for the larger screen 6 months later. With it basically being a dumb PDF it’s very hard to navigate and is far inferior to other magazine viewers. Noticed it was on ipad so bought the first issue. Great cover btw, I read the one 10 years ago and this really grabbed my attention. An intelligent football read for the real fans. If you want speculative transfer gossip, go elsewhere though.
