It’s a drawback to fellow travellers who may be taking the road less travelled. I tried to add an Ontario Provincial Park today. No success. ### 2/5 — Lunch at Annex *2024-05-09* Annex is located on the beach and has a pleasant atmosphere with polite and welcoming staff. However, the food is extremely poor. I have just spent €200 on a meal for two and I wish I had not eaten there. We ordered Calamari, Burrata and a Greek salad. The Calamari was not fresh and had no taste. We didn’t eat it. The Burrata disintegrated into milk and was served on a few leaves of stale lettuce. The Greek salad was fresh but really disappointing in terms of care. We then had a steak and a burger hoping it would get better but it didn’t. I wish I could say the beer was cold but it wasn’t. I won’t be returning and this is my first ever restaurant review, I felt compelled to help someone else avoid this experience in such a lovely location. ### 2/5 — Chekky *2023-07-08* Every time today when I click on the location setting in Chekky, it brings me to your app, and it shows a black screen with blue buttons that won’t bring me to anywhere, please fix it ### 2/5 — Bad usability in new update *2023-04-16* The new design update has really made finding tips and photos unpleasant and difficult. Pages of all white blocks with no separation of sections. Harder to add tips and tag photos. Example of bad redesign: the “what’s popular here” section removed photos associated with key words, un-bolder the key words and the clickable section of the box is only the bottom 4th. Really bad user design compared to previous version and added nothing new of value to justify change. I’m a long term tip leaver and user of the app. ### 2/5 — Obsolete data + Superuser(?) frustration *2022-10-26, version 11.23.10* Developers haven’t replied to reviews in two years so I’m leaving this for fellow users and prospective ones. The quality of the reviews used to be the most reliable and 4SQ was my go-to app to find good places during my frequent travels, but the reviews are now dated and the data on new places and closed places is severely lagging: perhaps if users were more motivated to contribute, as in my case. Yelp is too full of fake reviews and reviews by clueless users who rate everything 5 stars. Google ratings are unreliable because of inflated 5 star reviews and rancorous 1 star reviewers. Apple Maps just recently started collecting ratings (but no actual reviews), which is promising. Foursquare used to be the best, but no longer. Despite having used 4sq for over 10 years, left 600+ tips, uploaded 700+ photos, achieved 20+ different “expertises”, and made 1000+ edits & corrections, I find it annoying to be stuck at superuser level 1 when I see other users with noticeably fewer contributions who sit at higher levels of recognition. I find I get a lot more reward for a lot less activity as a Google Local Guide, despite presumably competing with a much larger population there. It just seem like Foursquare is not very invested in its users. ### 2/5 — Lobby *2022-09-15, version 11.23.9* If the lobby is open, I give it a 5. When only the drive through is open, I give it a two. The last few times I’ve gone, wanting to sit inside, I ride a motorcycle, the lobby has been closed. I ask why, there’s only 3 of us. If three can’t run that place, then you may as well close. If I can’t sit in the lobby anymore, I’ll take my business elsewhere. Triumph Tiger ### 1/5 — Needs Updating *2022-08-24, version 11.23.9* I manage a restaurant in East Lansing, and For Square has made our lives very difficult. The menu is extremely old, doesn’t have correct information, and when I try to change it, I can not log in. If you want people to use your app, you should reach out to the establishments you have listed, not just pick some old menu on the web from 15-20 years ago. Very inaccurate information. Wish you would delete us to avoid further confusion for customers calling us! ### 1/5 — Poor app development *2022-06-18* 5hrs of background battery drain. Unacceptable! ### 1/5 — Always allow location? *2022-04-15* Why is it that I have to “always allow” location services if I am looking for a place by name? Especially when I’m searching for a place that IS NOT near me? Clear violation of my privacy for no reason. ### 1/5 — Won’t let me sign up *2022-02-21* Every time I try to sign up or use app with out logging in it gives me “oops something went wrong”. After setting up an account and entering the verification code, same message …” oops something went wrong”. This app crashes. Deleted! ### 1/5 — Horrid App Doesn’t take down fictitious locations! *2021-12-05, version 11.23.3* Someone created a strip club page for our family farm. They will not take it down! I can’t creat a legitimate page for our 20 year old family farm business. I can’t take the false page down or even comment on it to let people know our home is NOT a triple X STRIP Club! Sites like FourSquare City Guide are illegitimate, because they allow ugly people to create fictitious information about locations with no confirmations. ### 1/5 — App forces location tracking *2021-11-26* The app blocks you from using it if you don't set location tracking to "always" instead of only while the app is in use. Immediately uninstalled. ### 3/5 — Eh, outdated, but still useful *2021-10-18, version 11.23.3* From the UI to the actual content of the app everything is rather outdated. While it does lists a lot of businesses and many great tips and reliable ratings it all seems a bit old. There are businesses listed that are out of business for a couple of years now. The tips are all a couple of years old as well. The UI has a lot of small text and tiny controls. It seems to ignore my system font size settings. ### 2/5 — Nice features, crashes a lot *2021-08-30, version 11.23.0* Crashes a lot just searching and adding places to my lists. Seems random, but about once every 15 minutes on my iPad. Update: Clicking on “Contact Us” to report the crashing causes it to crash 100% of the time. The crashing now is totally out of control. This is not necessary at all, and it won’t show you anything on the app without giving it full access to your location. ### 1/5 — No longer dining at Big Kahuna’s in Farragut *2024-07-04* HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. WILL NOT GO BACK. DO NOT ORDER TAKEOUT from Big Kahuna in Farragut!! I ordered food to pick up on a Friday night about 5:15pm and it was a cluster "problem" with the food AND the manager, ". The server could not have been kinder or, seemingly, more efficient. The problem appeared to occur in the kitchen. 1. The wings were not all the way cooked! Gross! 2. We did not get the correct sauces OR number of sauces ordered! 3. The green salad was packed under the HOT wings and was wilted! 4. We did not receive ANY salad dressing! 5. The Kale Slaw was packet above the HOT wings and was Extra WARM when we opened it. 6. The Kale Slaw was EXTRA SPICY tonight and was mixed incorrectly! SO, I called back and spoke with the PM Manager, who barely listened and tried to rush me--but apologized and said he would give me a credit. I would RATHER have received a new, CORRECT order, but he was very rushed so I knew they were busy. So I said that's fine. The next day a $5 credit showed up on my bank card!!! Not $49, but $5.00!!! INEXCUSABLY POOR ATTITUDE, FLIPPANT and DISRESPECTFUL, NIGHT MANAGER REGARDING THE HORRIBLE FOOD AND ENTIRE EXPERIENCE!! ### 1/5 — What a shame *2024-01-30* This is a typical crowdsourcing app, similar to Waze, where it use to be a fun game and the company used the game to get end users to enter in information about different venues. Then took all that data that YOU end users provided for free and now uses that data as the “product” that they offer back. Completely removed the game aspect and makes the app useless. Unless you don’t mind them further data mining you. They definitely sell their data to third party companies because when Foursquare was a fun game, I made a house into a venue and labeled it a bar and it still shows up as a bar in Snapchat Maps. So shameful. ### 1/5 — Frustrating Experience with Foursquare *2024-01-17* I'm compelled to give Foursquare a one-star rating due to the significant disruptions it's causing for businesses, including mine. Despite the app's promising features, it's currently non-functional, affecting critical aspects like updating business locations. This issue has led to lost sales and numerous complications. Even though the app claims it's not working, it still displays outdated information, making it impossible to rectify or claim business listings. The lack of a resolution is immensely problematic and feels borderline negligent. This situation goes beyond inconvenience; it negatively impacts businesses and is, in essence, disrupting livelihoods. Immediate attention is required to address these issues and restore the functionality of the app. Without a prompt resolution, the app's rating becomes an irrelevant consideration, as it's essentially non-existent in its current state. Business owners deserve a functional tool that supports, not hinders, their operations. I urge Foursquare to prioritize resolving these issues swiftly to regain the trust and confidence of its users. ### 1/5 — New version with lists is horrible *2023-08-15* As a 10+ year Foursquare user I’m truly in disbelief about the overall functionality in the latest version, which makes it almost impossible to manage lists (the primary feature/use of this app for me and most dedicated users). Why do I have to click a million buttons to add something to a specific list now? Why does it immediately add it to my Saved Places rather than giving me the option for which list I’d like to add it to as it did before? Why do lists no longer show the number of places you’ve been to on a list? I’m so confused. One of the most illogical and user un-friendly updates to almost any app I’ve ever used. ### 1/5 — Looks horrible now *2023-05-20* 10+ year Foursquare/Swarm user here. It’s a given that the apps are way past their peak. It’s ok that the company has long pivoted and found a way to be profitable without having questionable privacy policy (hello Google and other big tech names!) and managed to remain independent. But at this point it honestly seems like they want to make the app worse? The last updates to Foursquare have been really unfortunate. The venue view seems like it’s one big white screen, with no clear division between different sections (maps, reviews, buttons etc.). Lousy UX and readability. I know anything that is not B2B and profit-making has long gone in the back burner for the company, but that was so uncalled for. Just bring back the old looks. The contact form can be found on the following link: 4sq.com/AppSupport ### 1/5 — Garbage - Deleted *2023-04-08* App won’t let you create an account - ‘Oops something went wrong’ - tried 2 step verification 3 times then deleted the app. Noticed many other users have fed back the same comments. ### 1/5 — Maybe it’s time to put FS and Swarm back together *2022-12-16* I’ve had FS on my iPhone now for over ten years but rarely open it. I do open SWARM daily now, which is an all FS used to run that lets people checkin to places they visit. But wow… I first joined on February 4, 2012. I regularly earn at least 1500 coins weekly on Swarm. I’ve never gamed the app for points, each checkin is to a place I actually go to. I try to say why I’m at the place in my checkin, in a manner that tells a story about my day. But wow - so many things don’t work now. Here’s some outstanding issues: 1. The biggest thing wrong is the inability to suggest edits. When I do, it says something went wrong. If it’s a big glaring error, the best I can do is leave a tip about it, if it’s something people should know. This is especially frustrating with newer businesses, even when I’ve added them. 2. A second issue I’ve had is with suggesting spots for either deletion or amalgamation. I actually have several places I visit regularly that have ended up with multiple entries. There is an option for reporting duplicates but no one at Swarm does anything about it. 3. The in-camera function freezes when I try to take a photo to go with my checkin. I love including photos so it shows I’ve actually been there. And I try to make them interesting. A local cafe I go to renovated this year, and they were so happy to learn about Swarm and all the photos of their shop that were there from over the last 15 years. I listed these in my SWARM review but these edit functions also exist within FS and they don’t work in FS either. There are other things too but these three are top of mind. Rewarded the frequent users, helpful tips for travellers and locals alike. And oh, Swarm was its own app. But now, I can’t leave a tip, or add pics, or learn of live events…it’s useless tbh. So either restore it to the king it was or kill it. We enjoyed lunches, dinners and drinks either overlooking the beach or poolside service. The food is fresh and quality products are used. Personal service with a smile each time. I strongly recommend dinning here in Kamari. ### 5/5 — Classic pizza III Resturant *2023-03-25* Great food. I have eaten there many times and had good experiences. Went last nite with family after grandsons concert nearby. We all enjoyed it. Ordered pizza, salad, gyros and drinks. Pizza was tasty and excellent ( Greek MA style). Gyros were large and so tasty that kids ate them all to the last bite. Salad had lots of veges n good sized. Great service from the two girls at counter and the owner chef made sure we got the food exactly as we wanted. Friendly service n good food with decent prices what more can you want? Visit soon?
