You need an account to watch the livestream after 5 minutes. What? I shouldn’t need to login to an account to watch free news. I guess it’s good for emergency alerts or something like that but then news app for Fox 4KC has so many ads that is just congested and it runs slow on most devices. I have it on my iPhone and my iPad and it doesn’t seem to be much better on either. And when there is something newsworthy happening in the Kansas City area, I have gone to look for more information on Fox News and they don’t have anything listed for the current event of the day or the last big thing that happened that hour that I might’ve heard of from another new source. I think if they cut down the amount of ads that run simultaneously alongside their news article in their app that that might make it run faster. And I don’t know who’s inputting the news information but that needs to be a little more up-to-the- moment. ### 1/5 — Weather *2024-02-15, version 500.1.1* Ever since the latest update I can’t access the weather section on the app. I am currently running the most up to date version of IOS 17.3.1 ### 1/5 — Version unusable on iPad *2024-02-11, version 500.1.1* Latest version 500.1.1 essentially unusable on iPad; works as expected on iPhone except can’t find saved stories. On iPad: Any story with video unable to see written story or adjust video size or close to read text plus Each time a video played auto turns off iPad global setting to mute. ### 2/5 — Good app, but only want news, NOT weather *2024-01-16* The app works like any other app. BUT!!!!!! This is the NEWS app, NOT the weather app. I specifically went into the aettings to disable ALL but the breaking news. And what do I keep getting from this stupid app? That’s right, WEATHER NEWS! Don’t you have a separate app for weather? Oh, you do? Then keep the weather alerts, for NON-Emergency weather alerts to that app!!!!! ### 1/5 — Fox 4 Is Extremely Biased *2023-10-19* I’ve had this app on my phone for a few years and can’t take it anymore. F4 is an extreme liberally biased network and it shows in their articles. In addition to the ideology of the network, pieces written by “journalists” like Malik Jackson and Andrew Lynch are laughable spelling and grammatical errors abound (Fellas, you might want to spell-check before publishing; my high schooler could do better with he eyes closed). If you like your news spoon-fed to you through a progressive filter, this app is for you, otherwise it’s garbage. ### 1/5 — Shady advertising *2022-04-20, version 41.9.0* You will open a news story and immediately be redirected to an advertiser’s website. I feel as though this a slimy way of getting website hits. Really makes me not like this app. ### 2/5 — Don’t like the latest upgrade to the App *2022-02-05* I prefer to read my news. With the latest upgrade some of the news articles are videos. That would be okay if there was a way to click back to the list of news articles, but their isn’t. Once the video is done, it goes on to another video. I have to close the app and restart the app and hope I don’t click on another video. I am no even going to bother opening the app anymore unless I’m notified the problem has been remedied. ### 2/5 — Constant problems with news refresh *2021-11-12* I have had constant problems with this news app refreshing with updated news stories. Often go days without new stories being updated even when trying to manually refresh. I update the app and my operating system regularly. I have removed and dowloaded multiple times. Nothing helps. I like the format and that’s why I kept trying to remedy this problem but done fooling with it. I will use another local station’s app going forward. ### 1/5 — App is trash! *2021-10-19, version 41.6.0* Every time you click on a story it freezes!!! ### 1/5 — I just want to read the news *2021-10-05* Unfortunately with latest updates videos start playing pinned to the top half of the screen. So you have a tiny window space to read at the bottom. You can’t stop videos from playing. Hit pause it starts playing an ad. No matter how you scroll you can’t see the top line of the story because a data sucking video pops up and starts playing. Scrolling on a phone, you can’t make it through an entire article without accidentally opening a browser link for an ad. ### 1/5 — WORST news app I have ever used *2026-04-29* DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP FOR NEWS IN KANSAS CITY Clumsy navigation, slow loading articles, horrible user interface. Navigating between news stories is beyond cumbersome. This app is just a horrible internet browser that slowly loads the articles. The homepage displays the first (most recent) news stories. At the end of this short list is a “load more” button that shows you more articles. So far so good, right? Not even close. So this is how it plays out: when you finish reading an article and go back to the list of stories, it takes you back to the homepage with the initial listing of five or so articles. So you scroll down and hit the “load more” button to see the next few stories. Loading another five at a time. Then the process repeats itself when you click into another article and return to the initial listing. You’re back to the homepage with the initial five stories. Oh and don’t forget everytime you return to the homepage it leaves you at bottom of the page so you end up scrolling back to where the end of the article list is to load the stories again. Rinse and repeat. Pretty sure this was coded by middle school students. Keep up the great work kids! ### 1/5 — Cluttered with ads and commercials, sprinkled with info I’m not looking for. *2026-04-28* I’ve downloaded and deleted this app multiple times. It’s difficult to find news stories because the screen is so cluttered with ads. The stories I look for are often videos rather than text that I can read. The video commercials on a tiny viewing area surrounded by click bait ads. Disappointing. ### 1/5 — Live stream locked behind account no way to log in to account on app *2026-04-24* So the livestream during like severe weather only has a small amount of free time then you have to make a free account. Okay fine, but the problem is there is no way to log into the free account while using the app once you enter your info, they send you a sign in link to the email, clicking the confirmation sign in link opens the link in safari or whatever browser you have in your phone it doesn’t link back into the app so there is no way to sign in to the account you made using the app meaning the app can’t watch the live stream after that little preview window timeframe they give you “free” ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2026-04-18, version 505.0.0* Better hope there’s not a tornado headed your way… they’ll make you watch an ad before you get to the live broadcast! Don’t event get me started on the articles/web videos. Super glitchy and/or crashes the app. Gotta rewatch that ad again! Can’t even watch a video all the way thru.
