One of the biggest and most painful issues is that unlike many other streaming apps, Foxtel does not allow Picture-in-Picture or split-screen on iPad. You cannot minimise the video into a small window to multitask, which is frustrating and limits usability. We were able to do this in a browser but now the browser forces you to open the app. Worst still is that this comes on top of one of the most compelling frustrations, which is that for more than 50% of the time we’re watching ads. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Foxtel *2026-08-02, version 6.7.5* Don’t bother with Foxtel and their apps. Even though they charge a fortune, Foxtel are too cheap to hire developers to fix up this mess. They should restrict the ISP rather than restrict where the user is accessing the app from, for example if the user is using an Australian ISP such as Telstra or Optus they should be able to access Foxtel Go, but if they’re using BT then they are restricted from accessing Foxtel Go on their phones. ### 1/5 — Awful *2026-05-17, version 6.7.5* Despicable app that hasn’t changed in years. Also desperately needs a 10 sec Skip forward & back feature so if you missed something or want to skip something (like the opening credits which I’ve seen 1000 times 🙄) you can. Also... ADS??? Seriously Foxtel? For the most expensive movie/TV channel already? And now you’re making us watch 30 sec ads??? I just wish I could download it onto my Apple TV devices instead of having to do the screen mirroring thing which is clunky at best. ### 3/5 — Inefficient app processes- app suggestion for improvement *2020-07-27* When moving, for example from the end of one movie on Netflix to the next, you have to exit the movie and go to the next. I would suggest if possible a feature that makes it easy to click the next movie. Like a easy flow on instead of the screen pausing on the tv, having to disconnect google chrome then connect again on the new movie. Also when using google home at night, if you turn the tv off but don’t pause the movie or turn chrome cast off, the app will keep the movie playing over the network. I am not really sure why my phone stayed connected, maybe the set or processes I used to put my phone to sleep on charge still connected to wifi with the app still open ( Not a computer Tech) This caused me to miss work because my iPhone alarms didn’t sound as the phone was still connected to the tv. over the wifi or something. To be honest I am not sure why it happens but i think there is some sort of processes that can be edited within a software update to fix this. ### 2/5 — Worst App ever *2026-07-23, version 6.7.5* Today we have tried to watch 4 (yes 4!) different programs and repeated error codes are all we got. Good reception, full wifi, so who knows why? Seems that live tv is the only thing that actually works. 😩 ### 2/5 — No fast forward option !!! *2026-07-11, version 6.7.5* It’s a shame there’s no fast forward button because there’s so many good shows on offer. Playback is difficult open takin me back to the beginning so it makes it hard watching long sporting events like F1. Currently on the free 10 day trial and trying to watch the main event but it won’t let me order it until I pay my bill and I can’t pay my bill until the 10 day trial is over. Oh well welcome back Kayo. ### 2/5 — Can’t AIRPLAY *2026-06-15, version 6.7.5* Whenever there is an ad in the show it drops out from airplay and takes me back to the start. I then have to guess where I’m at on the time bar. Also it’s mega slow just to watch on the iPad. You get the circle of death at every selection that you don’t get on any other streaming service. Lastly, for now, if you are going to force ads on people switch them up.
