## What is FoxTrot Attaché Search?

This fantastic app will let you install several FoxTrot Search index files from your Mac into your iPad or iPhone via iTunes, then search through them off-line and display the text of your Mac documents from anywhere without connecting back to your Mac.

It equates to having a compressed text-only archive of your entire e-mail, calendar, address book, PDF, word process from which you can search through the essentials from anywhere.

Note: this app is to be used as a companion to FoxTrot Professional Search for Mac, or FoxTrot Personal Search for Mac.

Der Funktionsumfang könnte wohl noch ausgebaut werden. Aber für mich ist der Attaché ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal zugunsten von Foxtrot.

يتفرد هذا التطبيق بمزايا استثنائية تتيح لي النقد والمقارنة بين النصوص بكفاءة، غير أن بلوغه الكمال مرهونٌ بسد ثغرة جوهرية، وتطوير ميزة مفقودة تتلخص في الآتي:
1. شمولية البحث (الكون في وعاء):
آلية البحث الحالية قاصرة لأنها محصورة في نطاق "الكتاب الواحد". الميزة التي أنشدها هي "الفهرسة المركزية الموحدة"؛ أي أن يقوم التطبيق بفرز ومقارنة الكلمات عبر جميع الكتب الموجودة في المكتبة دفعة واحدة، وكأن المحتوى كاملاً قد انطوى في وعاءٍ واحد، مما يتيح مقارنة المتون ببعضها مباشرة بدلاً من تشتت البحث.
2. الاستقلالية والعملية:
يعيب البحث الحالي اعتماده على مصادر خارجية أو حاجته لعتاد تقني منفصل (جهاز آخر) وبرمجيات مدفوعة، أو حتى الاتصال بملحقات سلكية (Plug-in)، وهذا يسلبه صفة "العملية" والمرونة في الاستخدام الشخصي السريع.
3. التكامل مع البيئة المحلية (Local Storage):
القفزة النوعية المطلوبة هي تمكين البحث العميق داخل ملفات الهاتف ذاته (وخاصة مكتبة Apple Books والملفات المخزنة محلياً)؛ فالهاتف هو القاعدة المتنقلة والمستودع الفعلي لبياناتنا الغزيرة، ومن المنطقي أن تكون أداة البحث فعالة داخل هذه البيئة وليست دخيلة عليها

"الارتقاء بآلية البحث من التطابق اللفظي السطحي إلى سبر أغوار المعنى؛ وذلك بتوظيف الذكاء الاصطناعي لاكتشاف المترادفات والروابط الخفية بين النصوص. المطلوب هو نظام ذكي يدرك أن اختلاف المفردات والسياق لا يعني اختلاف الفكرة، فيلتقط وحدة الدلالة (The Underlying Meaning) مهما تنوعت قوالب الصياغة، ليجمع النصوص المتشابهة في الروح والمعنى، لا في الحروف فقط."

FoxTrot Pro works like a charm on MacBook. But on iPad and iPhone needs better "neighboring words" proximity search. Need to be able to search for neighboring words very close, within one line, or within a few lines, as with FoxTrot on MacBook. This can be accomplished through "Search pattern" option on iPad and iPhone, but it's too laborious. The "help" topics for attaché indicate that the "neighboring words" option should be available, but it's not on the version I am running (4.5).
