## What is Foyer?

Foyer turns ambient sound into a place.

On a true-black canvas you are a still point of light at the center. Each sound is a luminous orb you place around yourself with a touch: a crackling hearth, rain, a stream, a forest, wind chimes, a distant city. Drag a sound closer and it grows louder; slide it left or right and it pans around you. Everything is rendered in true binaural, so put your headphones on and you are sitting inside the room.

Made for focus, rest, and falling asleep.

Foyer is calm and quiet, and it runs entirely on your iPhone. Your rooms stay on your device. There are no accounts, no ads, and nothing is tracked or collected.

It is free to start, with up to three sounds playing at once. One purchase unlocks the full sound library, unlimited rooms, AirPods head-tracking, and iCloud sync. It is yours to keep, with no subscription and no account.

### 1.5 — 2026-09-02

This update makes Foyer more reliable and easier to use. Sound positioning now pans precisely from left to right. The gesture introduction now completes only after a real drag and can be replayed from Settings. AirPods head tracking uses your starting orientation as the room centre, recalibrates after reconnecting, and adds a Recenter room action. Sound orbs now offer richer VoiceOver labels and controls. Feedback can be reviewed and shared privately from within the app. Purchase, restore, and offline entitlement handling are also more resilient.

### 1.4 — 2026-07-30

The free tier now says what it is: three sounds in a room, and five saved rooms — the three Foyer ships with, plus two of your own.

Rooms you have already saved stay yours and keep playing, however many there are. The one-time unlock lifts both limits and adds AirPods head-tracking and iCloud sync.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-07-29

The welcome screen's headline was being cut off on iPhone instead of wrapping onto a second line. It now reads in full.

First run now walks you through it: headphones on, pick a room, and the sound starts.

New installs open with three rooms instead of six. The others are one tap away under New room.

Settings gained a link to rate Foyer, and one to send feedback that reaches a person.

Foyer on iPhone now matches the new look of the app.
