## What is Fraction Math?

Fraction Math helps students learn and practice fraction calculations step by step.

The app can be used to study addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with fractions. It supports positive and negative fractions, improper fractions, whole numbers, and mixed numbers. Students can also reduce the resulting fractions.

Students can enter their own fractions, mixed numbers, and whole numbers. The app also includes an illustrated glossary of common fraction terms.

Step-by-step fraction practice:

In each step, the student is shown two possible choices. Sometimes both choices are correct. For example, when multiplying fractions, the student can choose to multiply the numerators or the denominators first.

When there is only one correct next step, the other choice is a wrong step. If the student chooses the wrong step, the app explains why it is wrong.

Intelligent help system:

Fraction Math includes over 60 context-sensitive tips based on the current problem. For example, when finding the lowest common denominator, the help system first explains how to look for the answer. If the student still needs help, it can show the lowest common denominator.

Animated learning:

Every step is animated. The animation speed can be adjusted, and animations can also be turned off.

Smart keyboard:

When entering numbers, Fraction Math uses an intuitive rolling keyboard. Only one tap is needed to enter a number. When reducing fractions, a special prime number keyboard is shown.

Illustrated fraction tips:

The app includes many tips about fractions, mixed numbers, improper fractions, and reducing fractions. The tips include over 50 illustrations.

This app is perfect for 3rd graders and up. I've purchased more than 30 elementary school level math apps and this app is in the top 5 we use most. The developer responded to my email in less than 2 hours and fixed the issue with a new update amazingly fast. Wow, thank you. Finals are next week and I'm looking forward to using this app over the weekend. Thank you for looking after your customers.

I tried a couple of other fraction apps and this is has been the best one.  This has been helping greatly remember my fractions, and this makes it fun doing it. I recommend if you need help with fractions.  Very nice.

Trouble is, if one wants to type in something like 10 over 7 on one
side and 15 over 7 on the other side, the numbers appear as -1...,
whatever it is. In other words, a bug. So I could only give this
program ****. Haven't tried the multipli. or division sections yet
because I just don't feel ready for them, so am basing this review 
on the addition and subtraction parts.

What We Liked:

Where was this app when I was learning fractions!  Seriously – didn’t anyone else struggle with all those steps – all different for each operation?  I certainly did.  The worst of it was that when I was solving the problems on my own, I never knew where I’d gone wrong, just that the answer is incorrect.

If only I’d had such a supportive, gentle app like this to guide me through each step – solidifying each operation and fraction type before moving on to another – this app is simply incredible.  Fraction Math serves like a one-on-one tutor checking each and every step of the process and redirecting when necessary – getting to the right answer is inevitable.

The gentle but comprehensive, step-by-step approach Fraction Math takes gives me hope and confidence that it is possible to master fractions math with enough practice!  There are never any negative consequences, nor are there any flash rewards, just the rich, satisfying feeling of learning, solving, all with a net to catch you, back you up, and teach you when you go wrong.

The incredible flexibility really lets you gear the app up our down in difficulty, and because it lets you enter ANY two-part fraction problem of your own, it is almost infinitely customizable.

What We Didn’t Like:

Overall:

Fraction Math is visually simple, but don’t let that fool you.  This app is the ultimate, step-by-step personal tutor for gently guiding your child through the processes and steps needed to master adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.  Filled with flexible options and the ability to input your own problems, this app simply isn’t to be missed – once your child conceptually understands fractions and is ready to compute – you’ll want to download this one.
