## What is Frame 13?

Pick one of four films and press the shutter. There is not a single slider to adjust.

Plenty of camera apps let you tune brightness, grain, bloom and saturation. Frame 13 goes the other way. The four films are locked, and your only job is to choose the one you like.

FOUR FILMS

- Clear Noon - the gentlest of the four. A standard negative that holds up even on overcast days.
- Vivid Day - the punchiest of the four. Deep blacks, colors that clump.
- Neon Night - tungsten, pushed. Signs and fluorescent light split into their own colors.
- Disposable Flash - the look of a disposable camera run through an auto scanner. Blacks lift, colors go pale, grain is coarse.

NOT JUST A COLOR OVERLAY

Light passing the lens, grain catching that light, paper compressing it again - the order is computed the way film works. Grain, resolution falling off toward the edges, red bloom around highlights, corners dropping away, color fringing on hard edges. They are not painted on top of the photo. They happen while the photo is being taken.

ONLY WHAT YOU NEED WHILE SHOOTING

- Flash that fires with the shutter (auto / on / off)
- 0.5x ultra wide on the rear camera
- 4:3, 3:2 and 1:1 framing
- Grid
- Date stamp burned into the photo (can be turned off)
- Saved to your album the moment you shoot

IT COMES BACK THE WAY YOU LEFT IT

Your last film, lens, ratio, grid, flash and date settings stay put. No resetting every time you open the app.

STRAIGHT TO THE VIEWFINDER

No splash, no onboarding, no tutorial. The screen after the icon is the camera.

WHAT IT DOES NOT HAVE

- No ads
- No subscription - one purchase and it is yours
- No account, no sign-in
- No server - your photos never leave the device

BEFORE YOU BUY

- It makes a shutter sound. This is not a silent camera app.
- Photos only. No video.
- No editing of photos already in your library. Film is applied to the shot you take now.
- This is not a film developing or printing service. You shoot the photos yourself.
- It does not claim to reproduce any specific device or film stock. It builds the texture of photos from that era.

iPhone only, portrait.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-06

- One film swapped. Red Afternoon steps aside and Disposable Flash takes its place - a disposable camera run through an auto scanner reads further from the other three than red bloom did.
- Neon Night now renders coarser grain.
- The date stamp glows a little, and the date you see in the viewfinder matches the saved photo exactly.

If something feels off, leave a review. I read all of them.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-30

Added App Store pages in Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Thai, and Indonesian. No changes inside the app.

### 1.0.0 — 2026-08-27

No release notes.
