The sign-up process was very sleek and easy, with zero admin🤩 fantastic right? One feature I really enjoy about this app is that I can make deposits as little as R10, and I can withdraw and have access to my funds in just a flash… One important thing I’ve learned with Franc is that saving is essential but not only is it essential, the most imperative thing is to name your savings, so you don’t have a chunk of savings that you can easily misuse i.e you could be saving for a car deposit, a holiday, buying your luxurious item, emergency fund, relocation essentials (if you’ll move to your own space/ apartment), registration fees,…the list could go on and on! Instead of having all that money as one chunk of money that I’ll mostly spend on adding a little more that enough items on my shopping cart🙈 It’s safer to split or name each category. This is the best decision I’ve made towards my financial goals… ### 5/5 — Easy Money Tings *2022-11-07, version 3.2.0* The app has a fantastic and simple UI but the app’s capabilities are fat beyond simple. I can easy manage my account and my son’s account. I have been attempting to withdraw since last week Friday. I was being sent to a chatbot that did not understand the issue before I eventually led to the WhatsApp line. I got help from the agent who was as helpful as chat box. Yoh Yoh I am so defeated. I was ignored on WhatsApp I go to Franc then I’m told to not speak to them on two platforms. So where do I get help. Ngathi im begging for my money sana . I’m begging for my money 😭😭😭😭 ### 1/5 — Be careful of all the hidden fees *2024-10-20, version 5.4.0* This app seems simple and user-friendly, but there are hidden fees and limits. They have withdrawal limits within a ‘goal’ and charge for transferring money within the same goal. I had to add more money just to meet the minimum withdrawal, only to lose it to fees. I’m still unable to close my account because I need a specific balance to transfer and withdraw everything. Support has been unhelpful, repeating the same advice that the app won’t allow me to follow. ### 1/5 — Rubbish app *2023-09-11, version 4.0.0* Rubbish app. Has too many bugs. Money takes too long to be processed and withdrawn + the fees to make the process quicker are higher compared to other apps like SatrixNow. Franc wanted to charge me R40 to make the process faster but on SatrixNow they only charge 0.2% This app is clearly still in its developmental stage. I suggest finding somewhere better to put your money until they get their act together and fix their bugs ### 1/5 — No Dividends *2021-11-10, version 2.4.3* Invested in the Satrix Top 40 through the platform for close to a year, I was meant to receive dividends in every quarter that the ETF paid them out. However, no dividends were paid into my account. They claim the dividends were reinvested by buying additional shares for me, but the numbers didn’t add up. They could not provide evidence of their claims, and the app also doesn’t have a function to let you track exactly how those dividends were handled. Daylight robbery in my opinion. Rather stick to a more transparent platform like Easy Equities ### 1/5 — Loved the app but then... *2021-04-15, version 1.1.1* I have been using the Franc app for quite a bit now and everything went pretty smoothly! Got excited to invest with them! Until I started struggling to get into my account... the app just kicks me out when I try to log in and then when I try to reset my password with the hopes of managing something it keeps telling me there’s something wrong with my internet connection even though I’m connected just fine. I hope this will get resolved soon! ### 1/5 — Improve your onboarding process *2020-06-18, version 0.7.6* Onboarding process is too long and forces a new user to answer a bunch of questions that could easily be asked at a later stage. Why does a new user have to fill in their age, income and set some goals before even being allowed to explore the app? Questionnaire ends in being asked to sign up/sign in and, upon doing so, I’m subjected to this questionnaire again, which ends in a request to sign in! Deleted the app after completing this unnecessary questionnaire for the second time. ### 2/5 — I Can’t believe this *2025-03-05, version 5.7.0* I’ve been using Franc for about a year and was enjoying it when making deposits but now that I am wanting to withdraw a large sum of money it’s taking such a long time just to transfer money within a goal and it said it would take 3-5 days. It’s been 5 days now and it’s still “processing”! On top of that everyday I go into the account the amount of money I have left dropped little by little! Im gonna withdraw it all because of this! ### 3/5 — Underwhelmed *2021-08-19, version 2.1.0* I was ready to do with business with Franc but the app hinders my capacity to do so. Steady high speed internet connection, and yet I struggle with the loading times in the app. I try to change goal settings and it fails to load. The biometric log in takes too long to appear. (The App is just slow) ### 4/5 — Great app mediocre investing *2024-02-27, version 4.6.0* App is very convenient. Great for keeping money separate from your bank. The investment fees however are high looking at transactions and when investing conservatively it takes from your investment value. Will get better nett returns from bank savings. Have not tried investing in more aggressive funds in the long term. Allan Gray is a great asset manager with adequate funds. ### 4/5 — Overall convenient app for beginners *2023-10-11, version 4.1.0* It’s a really convenient app - works well and is a good start for beginners. I am a beginner but I have done my research and in my opinion the fees are high and many. They charge 1% per year which is taken on a monthly basis excluding brokerage and transaction costs . It is user friendly including the beginners and it categorises your goals to short, mid and long term which encourages you fulfil your goal and have a clear direction for each goal.
