### 3/5 — Refresh Problem

*2026-04-07*

While the app is great when it is working. I need to constantly refresh the Home Screen to see real time data. I have found that I need to scroll thru all the uttons and then back to the home screen and hope it is working. This can take up to a minute and not very convenient

### 4/5 — Excellent quality

*2026-03-13*

I’ve been using the Franklin app for a while now in every way and it’s top notch However with that said, please allow for very specific sounds of your choice to be notified when the electricity goes out this would be an awesome feature, and it should be on such a quality app

### 4/5 — Download not working

*2026-03-01, version 2.10.0*

After the recent update, the download function doesn’t work..other that that, works great

### 4/5 — Some minor bugs

*2026-02-08, version 2.9.0*

We are part of the program where our battery is used by our utility on occasion. However, I see duplicates of every event in the event list.

Aside from that, the app functions well.

### 3/5 — Good App

*2026-01-23, version 2.9.0*

After recent update, the app takes a long time to load data when app initially launches.

### 3/5 — Decent

*2026-01-08, version 2.8.1*

Missing some features overall good but I am having issues tracking savings they will disappear the next day

### 2/5 — User Interface

*2026-01-07, version 2.8.1*

The application needs to be Australianised to match our behind the meter grid connectivity in particular of battery power consumed for self production.

### 3/5 — Needs widget support

*2025-12-27, version 2.8.0*

What we want is a widget that keeps us apprised of our energy deficit/surplus without needing to open the app.

### 4/5 — Good overall. Needs an iPad layout

*2025-12-20, version 2.7.0*

Happy with the app functionality, and with the aGate and aPower setup. Would be nice if a landscape iPad layout were added to the app.

### 4/5 — FaceID please!

*2025-09-30, version 2.5.0*

Looks like a good app but it desperately needs FaceID instead of having to sign in the old-fashioned way.

### 3/5 — Excellent iPhone app… but no iPad or web?

*2025-09-13*

I’ve got a FranklinWH aGate and aPower battery. I love having these to work with my solar panels. The only knock I have regarding the ecosystem is that there’s no iPad app, Mac app, or web app to access data. It also doesn’t seem to plug into Home Kit so users can’t make automations to turn on or off certain appliances based on solar power status. Hopefully this will change moving forward :)

### 4/5 — Good app overall.

*2025-08-26*

This app provides a ton of useful information. It keeps track of your battery status, it monitors your energy generation and consumption, which allows you to modify your usage behaviors. It keeps track of days and months of performance so that you can compare month to month and year to year performance.

It would help if the features of the app were not confined to a phone. Serious analytics would better be made available on a PC, or at least a tablet.

### 2/5 — Remove Virtual Power Plant Banner!

*2025-08-26, version 2.4.2*

No way to remove this? I’m on a zero export system so it’s irrelevant and it’s the first thing displayed instead of production stats.

### 3/5 — Decent control, analysis is USELESS

*2025-08-10, version 2.4.1*

The control of the system through the app is pretty good. But the analysis part is useless as all the daily usage/generation values show 0kwh for EVERYTHING, even though the monitoring is clearly working as it will graph the usage & generation.

### 2/5 — Still has flaws

*2025-07-18, version 2.3.6*

Often this shows 0 solar and the analysis is confusing! Still appears to have errors in the software!

### 3/5 — A lot of useless graphics, reduced plots harder to see

*2025-05-07*

Finally was forced to update to 2.0. The GUI on this version is over complicated with a lot of non- information graphics and the vertical axis on the charts are too small to read with no way to enlarge them. It also seems to have more problems staying synchronized over the internet. To get the current state of the system I almost always have to close and reopen the app.

### 2/5 — Data not accurate

*2025-04-07, version 2.3.1*

Reporting is not accurate. App shows solar daily production “Produced Today” < 5kWh when utility shows daily average export to grid about 15KWh. Chart of per hour production appears to be accurate but inaccurate when summing up for daily production.

### 3/5 — No iPad app

*2025-01-14, version 2.1.0*

Solid app, but not sure why they don’t build an app for iPad.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Constantly removing HomeOwner control

*2026-04-04*

The app gives you good reporting. The joy ends there. As a homeowner I want to own my system, Franklin doesn’t believe in that. The configuration of the system has many aspects the require you to pay one of their people to configure.

Additionally Franklin is constantly removing features or locking homeowners out of control. What you were able to control yesterday may or may not be available tomorrow. The only fix, pay an installer to adjust a setting you may have had control over just days before.

### 1/5 — Super Frustrating

*2025-11-22, version 2.6.2*

Lots of potential here but getting connected to my Franklin system has been super frustrating. The app doesn’t make it easy or obvious and the support documentation is jumbled and incomplete. Too bad, because I’m excited to see my solar progress. This app is a total let down. So much missed opportunity. You can do better, Franklin WH.

### 1/5 — DO NOT purchase FranklinWH: Disappointed in product, service, and app

*2025-08-05*

Since installing this system my solar no longer works. The app provides no information on what may be causing the issue and support just points either to the installer or my solar system.

### 1/5 — Big Downgrade

*2025-06-15*

The somewhat recent change to this current version is horrific. Everybody I know that uses this software is super bummed because the main information they’re looking for is now very difficult to decipher. People who have these systems on their Home want to know how much they’re producing and how in a very simple fashion. This current version doesn’t do that it’s confusing and it’s cartoonish. I apologize to the designers as I realize they likely worked very hard on this, but whoever was in the usability department needs to rethink how they perform user testing, if any. Please please go back to the old interface, it was 5 stars.

### 1/5 — no funciona adecuadamente

*2025-04-04, version 2.3.1*

El app no esta funcionando de manera adecuada desde que realizo el update, no registra el clima de manera correcta, no me da la producción de los paneles FV correctamente y el consumo de la unidad no es correcto en muchas ocasiones.

### 1/5 — V2.0 is not good

*2024-12-25*

The update replaced an easy to read and understand diagram with hard to read and understand drawing of a house. The usage graphs are now harder to find and smaller and harder to read. It also now gives the wrong temperature and time of day for my house and seems to respond to weather alerts that don’t apply to where I live. I have reported this but it has not been fixed. I would like the option to reinstall the previous version.

### 1/5 — 2.0 is horrible

*2024-11-29, version 2.0.1*

Version 2.0 is a horrible update. Loss of functionality and data takes a long time to update. This makes it impossible to know the actual status of the system. Franklin needs to revert back to 1.X

### 1/5 — Completely new look

*2024-11-21, version 2.0.1*

The new version of this app really stinks. It does not provide the data format that I need. The immediate previous version did EVERYTHING I needed and showed my complete system on a single view. This new thing is ridiculous

### 1/5 — Poorly designed and implemented

*2023-02-18*

This app was poorly designed and implemented.

It reports problems which self-correct, but it does not say that they have self-corrected.

It asks the consumer to take certain actions but (1) provides no instructions in how to do those thing and (2) ask the consumer to do things which the consumer is not authorized to do.

I’ve written to management and asked for a written response with timeline to fix these problems. I received no written response.

At this price point, I’d recommend doing business with another supplier — one that is more thoughtful in product design and certainly one that is willing to respond to a written request which asks for a written response.

Clearly, Franklin’s management team doesn’t think that it is important to be responsive. Arrogance like that is unbecoming to a startup which needs to build a happy customer base.

### 2/5 — Franklin system should not be on the internet

*2026-05-03*

FranklinWH unit works well. Except, I just discovered features that I used to be able to use, are now locked out ( grid import rate).

I can’t trust Franklin not to diminish what I bought and paid for. I’ll see about removing network connectivity, and only connect directly to the unit via Bluetooth.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Quick repair

*2026-03-14*

Quick fix done! The app didn't allow saving data on some devices, this has now been fixed. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Very good app and battery

*2025-12-29*

This app works very well. Very happy with the app and battery configuration. A couple things that would make it better: ability to schedule smart circuits based on days of the week and ability to use different SOC levels for different time periods on TOU,

### 5/5 — Flexible and reliable

*2025-09-23, version 2.4.3*

The app would be even more awesome if we could break down months into weeks for Tariff Seasons. This would provide more granularity for daylight savings transitions. Otherwise very pleased with the app in its current form.

### 5/5 — Beautiful, intuitive and insightful

*2025-08-26, version 2.4.2*

I am really enjoying the new FranklinWH app. It looks great, tells me everything I need to know, and I find it particularly useful when it estimates how much time I have left during backup. Fantastic!

### 5/5 — An Amazing Tech… Hope Company Lasts…

*2024-11-13*

My Franklin system is wonderful. I have 4 batteries, Agates and smart Circuits- we are all worried about company management and profitability. No use having the tech if it o longer supported. Please consider adding a manual hardware option in case system loses app support.

### 5/5 — Good app and support

*2023-10-27, version 1.9.0*

App works fine. When it acts up, Franklin is quick to address issues. Don’t assume your equipment is malfunctioning. Give Franklin a week or so to fix strange app behavior.

### 5/5 — Awesome product

*2023-08-21*

Have had plenty of power outages and 2/3 the time I don't even notice it in the home. The other 1/3 of the time I will have to reset clocks in house. App is phenomenal and I strongly recommend this product to go with any solar system. :)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2023-05-02*

Very awesome app for tracking my import and export of energy. I wish there is a function added later on, in which power can be diverted from going back to the grid and focus on charging my battery. I tried doing this through the current functions. The only inputs that seem to do this sometimes is clicking emergency back up and then switched back to self consumption.

### 5/5 — I love my Franklin WH system

*2023-02-21*

I can say that the support And even my recommendations to improve the app have far exceeded my expectations. Turn around times to my questions has been as soon as 1 hour and that was on a Sunday early morning. The system works great and allows me to fully see my usage and make improvements. The app works great and has been getting even better.

### 5/5 — I gave up social media

*2023-02-16*

Wonderful app that will have more entertained than fb. Really cool that you can see where your energy is going. My neighbor actually found out that she had a leak in her waterline because she noticed a spike on her apps energy chart when the pressure tank was refilling. Now that’s something the power company is not going to let you know about!
