If I was at the upper end of my goal body weight on it, I would have about 2-3% body fat. I would like to track meals and cut a few kg, not be ready to go to competition. Could be good for a person who fits that range and doesn’t have a higher lean mass. After answering the questions and receiving a figure of 72 kg as my optimal weight and replying that my goal is 70 kg, the app predicted my weight would be 63 kg if I follow the program. Where did that figure come from? No idea if it’s good, they ask you to rate literally right after signing up… it should ask after using it over a few days so you only get responses from people invested in using it- but here you are asking for my opinion after 5 seconds of owning the app, so I will give it a go: they also play the 20 questions game, aka asking all kinds of personal info, I just answered the bottom answer for all questions, and write whatever I felt like writing, to avoid sharing what I didn’t feel like sharing. I do know that there is no way to just look over the app, without having to jump through their hoops first. Users want to have control over what personal data they share with you, and certainly when you are asking for this personal data BEFORE even getting to a purchase screen., where they may then decide they don’t want to use the app, is wrong. (By the way this has a hidden in-app purchase not disclosed in description that you get to once you have played their 20 questions game). It makes it seem like data mining, so if that’s not the intent, allow the app to be looked at, and have fees displayed prominently, before any personal information is asked for. Because people genuinely interested in this program will give it a go. Interesting idea, but not done the right way from the get go, so not sure if I will use it because I frankly don’t trust this set up. I have tried to log my lunch that I took a photo of; the picture uploaded however nothing else happened. There was no change in calories and no indication that my lunch was even logged. I tried to log my workout the app said my exercise was added but it’s nowhere to be found on my journal. Truthfully an interesting idea run amok trying to do all things data mining without really focusing on just helping being simple and not bloated. ### 1/5 — So many negative things *2024-08-16, version 1.29.1* Mostly just a huge data mining operation of 3rd parties making money off your privacy and broken links to connect with company a privacy statement filled with missing information and an email address that bounces 🤔🙈🤥😢 ### 1/5 — Bad *2024-08-15, version 1.29.1* First, dev’s that ignore best practices by recruiting a user base with a premium lifetime promo via any method other than allowing users to purchase an IAP that can be perpetually restored via Apple should be avoided. Every time I have gone this route the dev invariably adds a feature or something and then requires additional payment. It’s not worth taking the time to set up the app and start using it only to get pushed into spending more money to continue using the app. Telling users that they’re receiving lifetime premium for $0.00 is worthless absent the assurance of lifetime premium via an IAP for $0.00. Lifetime premium promos are a very common and effective tactic for devs to build a user base, and honest devs have made it a best practice to offer these promos as an IAP restorable via Apple. With 2MM apps in the AppStore and 40k added monthly, devs need you as a user far more than you need their specific app. Secondly, the onboarding is painfully long, and unnecessary so. For instance, why are users asked if they’re more motivated by a sticker or an encouraging statement? Finally, the app gives you the option to select imperial or metric, choose imperial and everything that follows is metric or makes no sense to anyone that uses imperial. If I’m 5’ 10” allow me to input that, not 5.8 ft. If you make it this far into the laborious onboarding, the following questions ask you to set weight goals in Kgs… I don’t know or care how many kilos I weigh or want to weigh. Between the intentional exclusion of an apple restorable an IAP and the poorly executed UX, I’m not compelled to give my time and data for the benefit of this developer. ### 1/5 — Misrep *2024-08-15, version 1.29.1* The free lifetime purchase is not authenticated through the AppStore. I don't know if Apple allows developers to add in-app purchases that are billed outside of the store. It asks WAY too many questions (sexual orientation?? For a weight managing app?) and the questions just kept a-comin’ until I just started hitting the boxes blindly. (I was curious to see how far it would go.) Just when I thought it must surely be wrapping up, it then demands my mobile, email, AND even landline number before I can proceed. That’s when I said ENOUGH! and deleted the app. You guys really need to scale back your aggressive data-mining attempts — it’s a turnoff and way too obvious.
