## What is Free Climb?

How high can you climb?

Free Climb is easy to pick up: tap a hold, move a hand, climb a little higher. But reaching the top takes a plan. Big holds are easy to grip. Small ones tire you out fast — and if your energy runs out before the top, down you go. Pick your path, pace yourself, and keep climbing. Try to keep one hand on the wall, lest you fall.

Every wall is brand new, made fresh just for you — and every wall is guaranteed to have a path to the top. Finding it is the fun part.

EASY TO LEARN, TOUGH TO MASTER A quick, friendly tutorial teaches you everything you need. The first levels are a breezy warm-up; the later ones will make you think about every single move. Feeling bold? Leap for a faraway hold — catch it and it's glorious, miss it and you're falling.

COLLECT THE GOODIES Every wall is sprinkled with treats worth a little detour: snack bars that refill your energy, a chalk bag that keeps your grip from slipping, carabiners worth points, and an extra life if you can reach it. Grab every goodie on the wall and finish the climb to double your points.

UNLOCK NEW PLACES Your points add up with every climb you finish, unlocking harder levels and whole new places to explore. Start out at the Climbing Gym, then earn your way to Joshua Tree — a sunny desert of red rock with taller walls and bigger rewards. More places are on the way.

READY to start your ASCENT TO NEW HEIGHTS?

• 36 achievements to unlock as you climb
• Route of the Day — everyone climbs the same wall, fastest time wins. Challenge a friend straight from Game Center

• Bug fixes and polish

### 1.1 — 2026-09-11

Climb with friends. Race the clock. Explore bigger walls.

Game Center is here. Sign in to see how you stack up on the leaderboards — lifetime points, this week's points, best streak, perfect climbs, and top scores at each location. Earn achievements as you go, from your first summit to your first 5.13.

Route of the Day. Spin the dial past 5.13 and you'll find a new DAILY row. Everyone gets the same wall each day, and the clock is running. Beat your best time, then come back tomorrow for a fresh one.

Challenge a friend. Win the Route of the Day and you can dare a friend to beat your time on the exact same wall, right from the win screen.

Walls got more interesting. New shapes to figure out — ledges, corners, overhangs, and towering beanstalks with side ledges to explore. Side routes now lead to hidden goodies, with a power bar along the way so wandering off the main path pays off. Joshua Tree walls are taller and change size from climb to climb.

Plus: a sunset touch-up on the home screen, and a pile of bug fixes.
