## What is FreeCal?

Every feature is free. No account, no trial, nothing locked.

FreeCal is a full calorie tracker and macro counter for iPhone. Search a food database, scan a barcode, photograph your plate, or just type a number. Set your own calorie, protein, carb and fat targets, or let FreeCal work them out from your weigh-ins.

LOG A MEAL IN SECONDS

• Food search with real serving sizes, for packaged and restaurant foods.
• Barcode scanner for anything with a label.
• Photo meal scanner: take a picture of your plate and get an editable list of foods, each with its calories and macros. Fix a portion, drop an item, name the meal, log it.
• Quick add for when you already know the number.
• Favourites, recents and what you usually eat at this time of day sit at the top of the sheet.
• Copy a whole day across when today looks like yesterday.

YOUR NUMBERS, OR WORKED OUT FOR YOU

• Already know your calories and macros? Type them in. FreeCal never changes a number you set, and it keeps your protein, carbs and fat in agreement with your calorie target.
• Don't know them? Pick a goal: a calorie deficit, maintenance or a surplus. FreeCal estimates what you actually burn each day (your TDEE) from your weigh-ins and your food log, then reviews your calorie and macro targets every two weeks and tells you in a sentence when one changes.
• Switch between the two any time. The burn estimate is visible in both.

A WEIGHT TREND WITHOUT THE DAILY NOISE

Daily weigh-ins jump around. FreeCal draws the trend underneath them, shows how fast it is moving, and counts the days this week you landed on target. Go over one day and the calorie ruler simply keeps going. There is no red number, and the rest of the week's targets stay where they were.

WORKS WITH APPLE HEALTH

Weigh-ins from a smart scale or another app appear in your trend. The food you log and the weigh-ins you enter can be saved to Apple Health. It is optional, and off until you turn it on.

YOUR DIARY STAYS ON YOUR PHONE

Your food log and weigh-ins are stored on your iPhone, and in Apple Health if you choose. They are never sent to an ad network. There is no account to create, and you can export everything as a CSV whenever you like.

HOW IT IS FREE

FreeCal is paid for by ads, and we would rather tell you exactly where they are: a banner at the top of each tab, one full-screen ad a day, and a short video before a photo scan once you have used your first three scans. Nothing appears while you are logging, and no feature is ever held back.

We block ads for diet pills, fat burners, appetite suppressants, detox products and before-and-after bodies. If one gets through, report it and we add the advertiser.

NO ADS, IF YOU WANT IT

No Ads is optional and buys one thing: silence. It removes the banner, the daily full-screen ad and the video before a photo scan. It does not unlock anything, because nothing is locked.

• Monthly: $4.99
• Yearly: $29.99
• Lifetime: $99.99, paid once

Monthly and yearly are auto-renewing subscriptions, charged to your Apple Account, and renew until you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Prices are in USD.

THE HONEST PART

No before-and-after photos and no promises about what the scale will say. FreeCal counts what you eat, shows you the trend, and keeps your targets honest. It is also brand new, so there are not many reviews yet. If something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
