### 5/5 — Excellent simple CBT app!

*2025-10-28, version 2.3.2*

This app is exactly what I’ve always wanted! Just the basic 3 column thought changing CBT method. I never needed all the extra bumf other apps provide. In real life all you really need is 3 columns to identify the automatic thought, the distortion and the alternative thought. This app does just that. It’s so much easier than doing it yourself either on paper or the Notes app on your phone. You can just whip open the app and record your thoughts. And it’s free! Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Helping me very much

*2025-09-29, version 2.3.2*

This app has helped me so much. I have done CBT before and needed to start doing it again during a stressful season. This was the perfect app.

### 5/5 — Can I give this more stars?

*2025-08-11, version 2.3.2*

I never leave reviews for apps, but I HAVE to leave one here. This app is so simple to use and it works like a dream. AND it’s FREE! I have been struggling with my mental health (ocd/panic disorder/dpdr) and this has been so useful so far! I would recommend it to anyone!

### 5/5 — this app is SHOCKING.

*2025-07-31, version 2.3.2*

i have ocd, generalized anxiety disorder, and major depressive disorder, and this app is a game changer.

- very VERY easy to use, straightforward, gives you one of those optional tutorials that aren’t bombarding you and aren’t a lot of reading..
- none of that “buy our premium membership to do this and that!“
- this app has gotten me out of plenty of compulsions, ocd rituals, breakdowns, and even a couple panic attacks !!

the reason this app is so shocking… IT WORKS!! it’s free and it works.

### 5/5 — Thank you so much for making this!

*2025-05-05, version 2.3.2*

This is app is a great way to continue practicing CBT after I’ve been through therapy but still want some guidance on demand. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2025-04-17, version 2.3.2*

I find this app very helpful for looking at my thoughts and turning them into something useful rather than something self sabotaging as was my past strategy

### 5/5 — Can I Give A Million Stars?

*2025-03-27, version 2.3.2*

Guess the best things in life really are free! Thank you for creating and generously sharing this mind-and-life-transforming app with the world.

### 5/5 — Free & Fantastic

*2025-03-26, version 2.3.2*

For anyone who knows how to use CBT already, and just needs a quick phone access to the steps to think about and self challenge unhelpful thinking, this super clean no fluff app, is the best. Love the easy way I can review thoughts and edit those to make my alternative thinking more gooder for me.
And did I mention ‘free’.
Just what you need when you are a bit down - something easy to use and doesn’t ’cost’!
Thank you app developer! :)

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2025-02-23, version 2.3.2*

The reminders happen first thing in the morning when my anxiety is highest. It calms me down to focus on this for a few minutes.

### 5/5 — Great App and Developer

*2024-12-29, version 2.3.2*

This does exactly what a CBT worksheet would do, and it’s free! No monthly subscription or in-app purchases. Thanks Evan :)

### 5/5 — Game Changer

*2024-12-22, version 2.3.2*

I'm so grateful to have this free platform to help improve my mental health. It's simple but life changing.

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2024-10-18*

I am a psychiatrist, and you have changed people’s lives by allowing them to have access to this wonderful resource for free. This is a true and genuine source of good in the world; I teach patients how to use this app all the time, and it is truly life changing. Thank you for your wonderful generosity, as it is rare that I can recommend free mental health apps, especially one as simple, scientifically based, and easy to learn from as this one.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2024-09-27, version 2.3.2*

This right here is what I’ve been looking for, free, simple, and my OCD at work flares up with negative thoughts, I can use this on my break!

I haven’t properly invested into CBT outside of therapy, which was a while ago, this app allows me to manage it on my own.

### 5/5 — You only need this

*2024-09-25*

This app is pretty amazing, you only need this app to start practicing CBT.

### 5/5 — I LOVE IT

*2024-07-30, version 2.3.2*

I started doing EMDR a few months ago, so I downloaded this app to help me with my thoughts and negative patterns, it has been great!

I can challenge my patterns, create new thoughts, work on perception, and break self-blaming!! Use it, you will love it!!

### 5/5 — Helpful to help with anxiety

*2024-07-24, version 2.3.2*

This app isn’t a quick fix, but it certainly helps reduce anxiety and the way forward to trying to improve your quality of life. I find if I write one of my worries down, it lessens the worry for me. Really useful app and absolutely fab that it is free

### 5/5 — Get it

*2024-07-23, version 2.3.2*

Absolutely life changing

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Update deleted my past entries

*2025-05-27, version 2.3.2*

I’ve been using this app for a while and I loved it but I lost all of my entries I spent hours writing and I’m really upset. Now I do not want to use it.

The update deleted all my past entries. I hope they can fix this. Now everything I wrote before is gone.

### 3/5 — Code issues + Missing columns

*2024-12-23, version 2.3.2*

While swiping to the next step from the distortions screen, a distortion gets selected/checked (unless you swipe on the small bit of negative space under the “free CBT” header). It would be better if the screens were just stacked vertically so you could scroll up and down instead of having to swipe side by side.

It’s also missing a big chunk of what goes into CBT. It should have a section for evidence with 2 lists; one column where you write evidence for the automatic thought, and one against the automatic thought. The other section missing is “worst case scenario,” and percentage chance you will be okay if that happens.

Also wish it had a navigation bar on bottom and ability to tag or categorize different kinds of thoughts (work, family, dating, etc), and filter/view those.

### 3/5 — Technical Adjustment Needed

*2021-10-07, version 2.2.3*

I just downloaded the app, and in using it I found it some aspects of it don’t work very well on my iPhone. There are a few screens where it seems like I should be able to swipe left or right to get to the next option but I can’t. Also, while typing a response I cannot say the words that I’m typing. In other words the keyboard covers the answer area. This is a pet peeve of mine so it lost a star on that. For an app designed to help me think about my thinking process, I would rather I didn’t have to think about the technical side of it while I was using it. Love the concept of the app. Just needs some adjustment for Apple users.

### 4/5 — Simple yet effective

*2025-09-21, version 2.3.2*

Easy to navigate and update this is a really simple way to have access to rational thoughts When thoughts spiral

### 4/5 — Great app with one major issue

*2023-10-07, version 2.3.2*

When you swipe from the distortion page to the next one, I usually don’t swipe from the very edge and that causes the app to select or deselect a distortion as I swipe to the next page. It seems like a major oversight in terms of UX.

To reproduce, put your finger in the middle and swipe left or right from the distortions page. It’ll select/deselect one of them which is really annoying.

### 4/5 — A useful tool

*2023-04-15, version 2.3.1*

I am finding the App useful so far. ( I have utilized it for approximately a month now), I’ve become a little more aware of my thoughts and caught myself quite a few times correcting my negative thinking. I recommend using the app.

### 4/5 — Add in a feature please!

*2022-11-02, version 2.2.3*

Hi, thanks so much for this app - a great simple way to track unhelpful thinking styles. It would be great if you could add in the distortion ‘jumping to conclusions’ as this is a common one for me that doesn’t feature already, meaning the app isn’t as helpful as it could be.

### 4/5 — All good but for one thing

*2022-09-22, version 2.2.3*

I love how easy it is to use this app. It’s easy to understand. It’s easy to use. However, the examples given for the fourth and final step in the introduction isn’t enough for me. I need a couple more wide ranging examples to truly understand how to phrase the fourth step. But I guess that’s what Google is for. Honestly, it could just be me. I’m a little slow with all these meds in my system. Haha.

### 4/5 — Simple and convenient app!

*2022-09-08*

I really like this app, it does what it's supposed to do.

I wish there was an export feature for sharing the texts with my notes app or with my therapist.

Thank you!

### 4/5 — Fabulous follow through for CBT theory

*2022-08-13, version 2.2.3*

I’ve done several CBT courses over the years and the one problem has been following through into real life! This app makes it really easy to record negative thoughts and work through from that thought to a real life outcome!

The only reason I haven’t given this app 5* is because it doesn’t link between devices which, for me, is really important!

*2026-08-13, version 2.4.0*

*2026-06-12, version 2.4.0*

I was looking for something CBT based that was somewhat guiding. This is that app. It helps me to understand my thoughts better and how they affect me. It’s also incredibly easy to help me look for a better challenging positive thought rather than just going negative.

### 5/5 — Simple and effective

*2026-04-13, version 2.4.0*

So refreshing to find a tool that allows me to do CBT work in peace. No AI guide or unnecessary frills. Just the prompts and space to acknowledge, challenge end replace troubling thoughts.
