### 3/5 — Like freeCodeCamp, not their app

*2026-06-17, version 7.5.2*

I’m working through the python course, and the terminal does not actually show the output of the code when I run it. The app still verifies the code is correct and allows me to proceed, but I think it would be much better if I could see the actual output of the code in the terminal as I go. I’ll just use the desktop website until this error is resolved.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2026-06-16*

It is very cool and 100% helps but either it is very hard to find or it doesn’t have a playground for coding

### 3/5 — app keeps exiting

*2025-11-29, version 6.0.1*

everytime i try to use the app by doing the legacy responsive web design course, the app keeps exiting

### 2/5 — Log in don’t work

*2025-11-16, version 6.0.1*

It just gets stuck on loading screen please fix but 5 stars for the website

### 3/5 — Log in fail

*2025-10-07, version 6.0.1*

Works fine if using app as an anonymous user, but just hangs when trying to sign in to an account, I have a Gmail account, log in fails using google, apple and email, I get the code in my email when using email address, but it just sits and waits after entering in validation code.

### 3/5 — Trying for the first time

*2025-09-10, version 6.0.1*

I downloaded the app to try out the daily code challenges, but every time I try to submit the progress button just spins

### 3/5 — It’s ok

*2025-09-02*

It’s ok. Has errors. I just started legacy python for everyone. The first video had an error and didn’t play. Now the Variables, Expressions, and Statements video doesn’t play. Thankfully it plays on their site. I’m just going to use the site instead. This app has potential. Just needs fixing.

### 3/5 — Fixing bugs

*2025-08-29*

I tried to participate in the daily challenge but it keeps taking me out of the app but I really love the learning part the only problem I have for now is the daily challenge part

### 3/5 — Okish

*2025-04-22, version 5.0.2*

The app has no guidance as to what you are meant to do ? It’s not very user friendly

### 3/5 — Help

*2025-03-22, version 5.0.1*

I have downloaded the app three times and it refuses to open, I’d love for some asssistamce

### 3/5 — Steps

*2025-02-09*

Can you fix the bug where the completed steps revert back to uncompleted so that we don’t have to do them over again for the course to actually be completed?

### 3/5 — Nice but too many videos and no enough lectures

*2025-01-17, version 5.0.0*

Nice and free app indeed, too many videos and no much writing….personal suggestions should be more readily accessible material and less videos as much talk no so much info….personal thoughts

### 3/5 — Learning section needs polishing

*2025-01-14*

Stability has improved since the first time I tried to use this app, but I'll continue to stick with the desktop site. Scrolling through the list of project lessons is pretty janky on my iPhone SE2, and the app does not sync progress on user-written certification projects. The current project I'm working on is completely blank in the app. Small nitpick but the sidebar does not show profile picture and donor status, just a placeholder user icon. These display correctly on the Profile page. I haven't really dived into Tutorials or Podcasts, so this experience is strictly with the project-based coding courses. Hope improvements continue as I'm a big fan of fCC on the whole and seamless mobile accessibility of lesson plans would be extremely convenient.

### 3/5 — Cannot use

*2024-11-30*

It keeps showing a hint, says 'You appear to be using a browser extension that is modifying the page. Be sure to turn off all browser extensions.' but i am not using any browser extension

### 4/5 — Bugged

*2024-11-16, version 4.4.0*

Not sure if just me, but having problems advancing the lessons/courses. Error: You appear to be using a browser extension that is modifying the page. Be sure to turn off all browser extensions. Using IPad Pro 5th Gen.

### 2/5 — Why is the app like this ?

*2024-11-09*

Through all the videos you guys upload, you clearly have the skill to make a great looking application this looks like someone just threw it to the wall hoping it would stick.. there’s a ton of information between courses and it’s just one big waterfall of information! If it’s not already make it open source so people can help

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. Could you send an email to mobile@freecodecamp.org with more details on the issue you faced?

Also the app is open source and you can find it here https://github.com/freeCodeCamp/mobile

### 1/5 — Hurry up 😔✌️🥀

*2026-07-21, version 7.5.5*

I agree with everyone when I say this that you need to make the backend faster. Like y’all workin on this forever. Sad 🥀

### 1/5 — Welp. Not great.

*2025-12-07*

It’s kind of wild to me that a site/app that teaches coding, would have an app that doesn’t work becasue of bugs.
Every time I try to login, it just sits there and spins. I have to close the app and reopen it and then it shows me as logged in.
Makes no sense.
I’m sure the actual lessons are great, but if I can’tuse them, well…

### 1/5 — freeCodeCamp is awesome but this app needs work.

*2025-10-24, version 6.0.1*

All of the video lessons give an error message so you’re unable to watch them.

### 1/5 — Progress not saved

*2025-09-27, version 6.0.1*

Every time I try to login, either with Google or using email code, screen gets stuck “loading” and it never signs me in.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2025-08-30, version 6.0.0*

Hi there, I was using this app daily, I saw an update saying that daily challenges were available. I got glad that now exists. I updated the app and now all it does is crash on me

### 1/5 — Bug from the very beginning

*2024-12-15*

I was excited to see the mobile app, because my best place to learn is on the phone on the train. It’s very discouraging to not be able to finish the first lesson without “hint you appear to be using a browser extension that is modifying the page.” I have turned off all extensions, including popup blocking and still have this error.

### 1/5 — Are You Dumb?!?

*2024-11-02, version 4.3.0*

You keep telling me stuff to do when I already Did It. FIX IT NOW!

### 1/5 — two clients of this platform (web browser & ipados) are unusable

*2024-04-13, version 4.1.9*

I'm trying to pursue my courses on Safari/Edge/Chrome; they are very hit & miss on whether or not the page will completely load for you to submit your entries. So I download this app, first the course I was attempting wasnt available and I was recommended to use the web version, and when I tried to attempt something that is offered on this app (the first css project), the app insta crashed on the very first submission. So im just like, wwhaaaaat ever. Very helpful organization, ive had nothing but stellar experiences so far on desktop, but the 1 star review is warranted in my experience for this iPad app as of 4/12/24.

### 1/5 — Broken.

*2024-01-04, version v4.1.6*

Tried the first couple trainings on my phone and iPad. When I hit to check mark to complete it, it just spins and spins and never loads.

### 2/5 — too buggy

*2026-07-10, version 7.5.5*

some long links and strings of text are just impossible to copy, forcing you to repeatedly open and close the menu to type them manually

will occasionally just not detect your code when you try to check, only fixing after restarting the app. even after restarting, some parts straight up did not work untill I moved to the website to complete them

the website might be more annoying to use but atleast it’s actually functional and has all the courses

### 5/5 — Best Platform Ever!

*2026-07-10*

If i had to choose between spending $15k on a coding bootcamp or signing up for freecodecamp and learn everything in a much better way I’d choose freecodecamp every single time.

Highly recommended!

Don’t get me wrong there’s a lot of stuff to cover but this one is worth it

It’s better than

Codecademy
UCLA Extension
W3schools
And a lot of other softwares

They have everything you need to succeed

Don’t think twice - freecodecamp is where it’s at! ✨✨✨✨

### 5/5 — The most amazing app for older adult learners!

*2026-02-27*

As an older adult learning coding from the ground up this app definitely is helping me to understand the basics in an easy to understand format while providing an editor to see my work as I learn. Kudos to the FreeCodeCamp team for creating an app and complete program designed for those of us who learn by hands-on training and chunking. I truly enjoy the labs and workshops portion that brings the it all together.

### 5/5 — Definitely a great download

*2026-01-30*

Super happy I’m able to use and support an app as helpful and useful as this one. This should be one of the steps people take if they want to involve themselves in programming. They even teach English! My donations shall continue!!

### 5/5 — Perseverance!

*2025-09-14*

Took me a while for anything I started here. I use the web site mainly, for my next certification or project I may start using this app more. Thank you, Quincy and your team for creating this resource for the community! I will spread the word! Thank you, thank you and thank you!

### 5/5 — Best free coding app

*2025-05-21, version 5.0.3*

Give it a try, I suggest using computer but this works on phone just as well!

### 5/5 — Good app

*2024-11-09, version 4.3.0*

Some tasks are hard to understand but makes me kinda think about it more and helps with learning.

### 5/5 — Almost 100% Perfect

*2024-10-24*

This app has been a constant companion of mine for the past few weeks. After a small learning curve (learning which buttons show/hide which sections), the app become very intuitive & I am able to progress my learning with ease.

My only gripe is that the “(i)” Instructions & Task Information panel DOES NOT stay visible when I pull up my iOS keyboard to type. I expect the (i) panel to stay visible and readable when the (i) panel’s button is active & in use.

I am only in the CSS/Web Dev sections. I gave the Databases/SQL sections a chance & I was a little disappointedj to see only video-based content. I cannot learn through videos at different points in my day, the way I can with text-only learning.

### 5/5 — good app but add more course please

*2024-09-08, version 4.2.3*

Please give more course 😭😭😭😨😨😱

### 5/5 — Open learning, self-paced

*2024-08-19, version 4.2.3*

Amazing website and app! Great initiative

### 5/5 — I LOVE freecodecamp

*2024-08-14, version 4.2.3*

freecodecamp has helped me with my passion to code and would love for it to continue my only slight dislike is that there should be another section for videos
