We love the concept of Freedom Boat Club, but the math no longer works for a Seattle summer. There is a clear bottleneck during prime boating hours (2–6PM) where member demand heavily outweighs boat availability. Restricting availability mostly to morning slots (10AM–2PM) doesn't align with how people actually boat here. At $5,000 a year, paired with recent price increases, getting on the water just once or twice a season isn't a sustainable return on investment. We hope the club will adjust fleet sizes to better serve afternoon demand, but unfortunately, we will be canceling our membership for the upcoming year. ### 2/5 — Need Waitlist *2026-02-15, version 1.3* Love FBC but we need to be able to waitlist on the app. ### 3/5 — Unable to reserve boats outside the lower 49 states. *2025-08-12, version 1.1* Was planning vacation to Puerto Rico and decided to reserve a boat since they have 3 Freedom Boat Club in Puerto Rico. Was unable to make any reservation from the app and had to go to the online account to reserve. not very convenient if you can’t reserve a boat from anywhere in the world on the App. ### 1/5 — Please try again *2025-08-12, version 1.1* Love the boat club, but this new app is just horrible. The previous version worked so much better and was so much more logical. Why should I have to specify my home Marina every single time I search? Where do I waitlist for a boat now? It’s about twice as much work to make a reservation and it’s just annoying. The original app was in some ways better than this version. There is no tutorial to learn how to use this best. You no longer can see a full picture of a boat to make a determination if it will meet your needs. You see a slice of a boat cut through the middle or top which is basically worthless. This app requires you to plod through a calendar, one day at a time, only to find the boat you would be interested in is unavailable. There needs to be a way to research a few days or a week at a time to determine all boats available. This is not convenient. It needs big improvement. I do not have the time to waste to go day by day by day, trying to locate a usable boat. Management does not seem to be understanding our concerns. Just hop on boat Go for a beautiful ride Drop off boat Tip staff and go home. No washing No adding gas No mechanical repairs. This club is what the best of boating is. One problem I’d like to see fixed is sorting by availability is not working. I still need to scroll through all the boats to see which one are available. UPDATE: Recently I worked with the developer via the main office and this sort option has been fixed. Thanks! Great for making reservations and finding locations on the map respective to your area. I really wish the app would allow for reviews of the actual boats and to allow you to add to waitlist. Also wish the ability to reserve at reciprocal locations was available on app too. ### 3/5 — Laishley dock Freedom Boat Club *2025-12-07, version 1.3* We have been members for 10 years and Laishley is our favorite. The boat club itself makes reservations easy, and work to keep their members happy. Cape Coral is also an excellent Freedom Boat Club dock. They have a multitude of boats to choose from, and you can head out to Cabbage Key from there.
