The free Freeontour app is the perfect companion for your next camping trip or motorhome tour in Europe. The app offers both a campsite guide and a guide for motorhome stayovers with a total of almost 30,000 possibilities to camp, a route planner for campers with navigation options and diary function as well as travel and advice reports on all aspects of caravanning and camping.

In order to use certain functions in the app, you are required to register for a costfree Freeontour profile, which also can be used online at www.freeontour.com. Your data between app and online portal will be synchronised for easy and comfortable use.

Früher konnte man bei der Routenplanung die Anzahl der vermutlichen Tage an den Zwischenstopps angeben, das ist nicht mehr möglich. Jetzt soll der feste Zeitpunkt mit Datum eingetragen werden. Ändert dieser sich, muss die komplette Planung geändert werden. Leider somit für den spontanen Wohnmobilisten ungeeignet.

Beim Erstellen von Wegpunkten stürzt der Routenplaner ab, wenn man reinzoomt. Man muss ständig wieder neu anfangen :(

App läuft sehr langsam. Bilder lassen zeitweise gar nicht hochladen oder es werden falsche Fehlermeldungen angezeigt, die App könnte so nützlich sein. Werde wohl wechseln müssen

Am PC habe ich ein paar Routen Richtung Lappland und Norwegen geplant. Funktioniert ganz gut, manchmal dauert das Berechnen der Entfernung sehr lange. Städtenamen werden mir zu spät angezeigt, man muss ziemlich weit reinzoomen.

Nun wollte ich es am iPad probieren. Nur wird mir beim verschieben der Karte oft ein zwischen Stop reingeschoben, ich habe nichts angeklickt oder ausgewählt. Städtenamen bei kleineren Orten werden hier nicht mal bei rein zoomen angezeigt.

We found this app via a sticker at our campsite. We absolutely love having the route at our fingertips and planning routes visually. Would love to see:

1. Expansion to the USA so we can keep using it when. We get home.
2. Be able to add booking dates to the route so its easier to see days booked. 

Highly recommend and would happily pay to improve the offerings.

Seit rund neun Monaten führen die Updates zu immer schlechterer Handhabbarkeit. Jetzt habe ich mich entschlossen diese App nicht mehr zu nutzen.

Eigentlich meine Lieblingsapp zum Planen von Route: Übersichtlich, tolle andere Touren zu entdecken und die eigenen Touren gut zu planen und zu dokumentieren. Seit dem Update soll ich aber nun bisherige Routenpunkte löschen, womit ich auch die dazugehörigen Texte und Bilder löschen und ggf. neu erstellen müsste. Gut, Texte ließen sich einfach kopieren, aber die Bilder müsste ich mühsam wieder für einen neuen Punkt zusammensuchen. Zudem werden mir jetzt durchgehend zwei Benachrichtigungen angezeigt und ich kann in der App nicht erkennen warum.

Update zu Version 5:
Verschlimmbesserung. Routen bearbeiten geht ganz gut, um allerdings zurück zu gehen, muss Routen erneut ausgewählt werden. Fazit: man landet im startbildschirm Routen und muss sich erneut durchsuchen. Entweder ein Zurück Button oder eine fest hinterlegte Präferenz/Einstellung, was angezeigt wird wenn ich Routen öffne, wäre wünschenswert.
Anlehnung ans Web-UI: warum müssen es zwei Status Bars sein? Die untere, auf dem Tablet (iPad Pro 11“) im Landscape mode vernünftig zu nutzende Status Bar, überlagert bei der Routenbesrbeitun leider einige Informationen. Außerdem ist der Mehr Button ganz rechts ohne Funktion. 
Alles in Allem einigermaßen brauchbar. Genaue Planung aber teilweise weiterhin extrem umständlich. Ist eine Anbindung der Datenbank Park4Night angedacht?

Ursprüngliche Bewertung:
Allerdings ist bei der nachträglichen Planung bzw. beim nachträglichen Hinzufügen von Wegpunkten noch einiges an Potential für Verbesserungen. Das hinzufügen generell klappt, ist allerdings nicht so intuitiv, wie man es sich wünschen würde. Darüber hinaus ist die Anzeige der Routen in der Kartenansicht teils abenteuerlich. Tracking zum Aufzeichnen der tatsächlich gefahrenen Strecke wäre noch ein Punkt, den ich mir wünschen würde.

Sei es Stellplätze oder neue Camper Modelle einfach rundum Infos das ist für jeden das richtige dabei.

Undurchsichtige App, einfaches planen und dann auf mein ZENEC übertragen nicht auffindbar, anscheinend muss man immer eine Route anlegen. Viele Informationen die ich nicht brauche,  ich überlege die App wieder zu löschen.
