### 4/5 — Gyms dropping

*2021-04-01, version 4.17.0*

I’ve had feeeplay for only a month and have loved it. I’m saddened to hear that some of my favorite places are dropping freeplay. Does anyone know why that is??

### 5/5 — So convenient!

*2020-12-21, version 4.12.0*

I’m loving Freeplay!! There’s a huge variety of instructors constantly posting fun & fresh workouts that I can do right from home or at the gym. Catching a live class has been so much fun & really inspiring! I love having so many choices in classes especially during COVID. I feel like I’m with friends at the gym again even tho I’m in my living room.
The app is easy to use & booking a class takes seconds. They added a feature where I can chat with the instructors which is really helpful & cool.
I highly recommend!!

### 5/5 — The ACTUAL greatest thing since sliced bread

*2020-09-12, version 4.3.0*

If there’s anything to not be on the fence about, it’s freeplay. I’ve seen people with little to no active lifestyle to people with extremely high active lifestyles thrive after they joined Freeplay. I tried new things and new venues that I normally would have had no interest in, and have become regulars to them, and all for one single membership, not several. Seriously, do not hesitate to join.

### 5/5 — So many options!!

*2020-08-25, version 4.1.0*

I love that there are so many opportunities to try new and different workouts!!

### 5/5 — Great for those who like variety!

*2020-03-29, version 3.2.0*

It’s so nice being able to go to a variety of gyms/studios with a variety of workouts and instructors! My schedule is different each week so I love being able to pick and choose.

### 5/5 — Freeplay is Amazing

*2020-03-21, version 3.2.0*

This app is my top 5 favorite for sure...great workouts all over UT and AZ!

Check it out

### 5/5 — Motivation, variety, community

*2020-03-04, version 3.1.0*

I’m so glad I found this app! It’s the perfect mix of motivation, variety, and community to live a sustainable healthy lifestyle. Motivating because you’ve already paid for it so you want to make your money’s worth in workouts and activities. Variety — so many types of ways to exercise and enjoy it! I wouldn’t have tried half the things I’ve tried if I didn’t have Freeplay because individual gym memberships are so expensive. Also, because there are so many venues, you can go at pretty much any time of the day and find something you want to do. Lastly, community — such easy, built-in date or group outings with friends who have Freeplay or friends who don’t — 3 buddy passes a month is amazing! As a plus, the Freeplay team is very responsive to feedback and that is so helpful.

### 5/5 — Love this app!!!

*2020-02-28, version 3.1.0*

I use it 6 days a week and absolutely love the choices of venues i get to participate at!

### 5/5 — Life changing!!!

*2020-02-25, version 3.0.0*

This is seriously a game changer for me! I hate committing to just one gym but this app has allowed me to go to a new place everyday and experience whatever sounds fun that day! It’s also so fun for groups! I can’t tell you how many nights I have had nothing to do and looked at freeplay and ended up doing something way fun with my friends that night! From climbing to yoga, CrossFit to meditation, boxing or cycling or just a plain old rec center, they have it all!!

### 5/5 — Endless supply of fun

*2020-02-25, version 3.0.0*

Fun if you like to try new things

### 4/5 — Love Freeplay, but....

*2019-11-16, version 2.14.10*

First off, I love the Freeplay program! There are so many gyms and studios to go to with fun classes. It has really encouraged me to start working out.
The downside is definitely the app itself. It’s always glitchy I keep changing it to only show places within 5 miles, but it always shows the whole state anyway. The classes sometimes aren’t organized by time, so i basically have to scroll through every class offered in the state to find the class I want to go to. The descriptions of the classes never match the description on the studios websites and can be quite misleading.

### 4/5 — Amazing Service

*2019-10-29, version 2.14.10*

The concept of paying one price for multiple fitness, recreational, and entertainment providers is genius. The app showed countless options, just within a 10 mile radius. I was able to try new classes I haven’t done before and had a great time. The app stalled a little bit when I tried to check-in, but after reloading and trying a few times it finally worked. Great product and service!

### 4/5 — Love it

*2019-10-02, version 2.14.10*

What a great idea! I love that this app gives me the chance to try all different types of workouts and classes! I just wish they hadn’t raised the price. I’m not sure it’s worth it anymore. But overall it’s a great way to stay motivated to work out. Especially if signed up with friends. Then we can all workout together.

### 4/5 — App

*2019-09-24, version 2.14.0*

I love freeplay. Love the concept of it and use it almost every week. My only complaint is how buggy the app. Makes it difficult to have to open and close and constantly reset to try and get the settings to load so I can set up my week.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Worthless now

*2023-03-07, version 5.2.5*

Freeplay hasn't been active on social media. They don't respond to messages, emails or even the comments for the app. They've been telling me for months that certain gyms will be back on Freeplay but nothing, I've noticed a lot of gyms no longer accepting Freeplay either. This was good while it lasted but looks like there are now better options like ClassPass and MindBody

### 2/5 — Not User Friendly

*2020-07-20, version 3.9.0*

This app is not user friendly. Hard to navigate. Not able to find your gym quickly. Useless features.

Who cares who has checked in and where? Useless feature.

Have a tab with your favorite gyms, and a place to quickly find where you usually go, instead of needing to look it up every time.

### 2/5 — Freeplay

*2019-10-31, version 2.14.10*

Finding that it is not the most user friendly app out there. Would like to be able to quickly find locations that are close to me, within the time frame that I am searching, and it still gives me more times & locations than I am requesting.
Also, when I checked in for the first time, at my first location, the app would not actually refresh to allow me to check in properly, so the Yoga studio I attended ‘checked me in’ five times.

### 2/5 — Signing in Bug

*2019-08-26, version 2.14.0*

I had used free play in the past but apparently never added my phone number. I just redownloaded and can’t sign in because my phone number isn’t in the system but when I try to make a new account it also won’t let me use my same email as before because that email is already taken.
Ridiculous.

### 2/5 — App needs improvements

*2018-11-27, version 2.6.0*

The location sign in doesn’t work so you manually have to sign in. The feed is not interactive and I can’t specifically see my friends or what my family on the same account is up to. There are other things that are annoying too. With improvements to the app I like the service.

### 2/5 — The New App Update is NOT GOOD!

*2018-11-07, version 2.6.0*

To be clear, I love this subscription. Everyone should join Freeplay. EVERYONE! But the new update is not working. There are bugs like crazy. It isn’t functional. There are multiple classes for gyms that aren’t in the schedule on the app anymore. The filter for class times don’t work. You can’t view a gym and all it’s class times anymore. There needed to be an update from the last app, but this update needs some serious work to fix the bugs.

### 2/5 — Misleading

*2018-11-02*

I just tried to book my first class. I added a reformer Pilates class to my “playlist”. Just so everyone is clear, this does NOT sign you up for the class. I called the studio bc that class is usually full and I was surprised to be able to add it. They said that you are NOT adding yourself to the class, the class IS full, and they don’t even allow people to book reformer classes with freeplay. Also, my freeplay app shows only 2 classes for tomorrow (1 which is not allowed through freeplay), but there are actually 3 other classes available. I’m really disappointed that I have to call the gym each time I want to go and make sure they have space in the classes. I would check with the studios before heading in to a class!

### 3/5 — Bad connections

*2021-03-16, version 4.15.0*

I have yet to purchase the monthly fee because every time I watch the lives, it’s a bad connection. I’ve tried several lives to see if maybe just instructor and it happens still. Like the app to be able to do workouts at home, just don’t like how it’s not clear.

### 3/5 — Great premise but needs work

*2020-02-28, version 3.1.0*

I really wish there weren’t so many glitches.

### 3/5 — Great program, awful app

*2019-10-29, version 2.14.10*

I love freeplay! It’s got me and my friends moving and trying things I normally wouldn’t, it’s been a game changer. The app needs a loooot of help though. It’s incredibly slow and when I’m searching for new venues or looking at schedules I usually just give up cause it’s so frustrating. It would also be nice to have a way to save venues you visit frequently. On my profile page it says I haven’t checked in to anywhere yet even though I have.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Freeplay is an amazing value

*2025-04-15, version 6.12.0*

### 5/5 — Best Variety and Value

*2024-12-27, version 6.12.0*

### 5/5 — Down 15 lbs!

*2022-03-31, version 4.19.0*

This app is amazing if you sometimes struggle to workout on your own!

### 5/5 — Emily makes me a stronger momma!

*2022-03-03, version 4.19.0*

I’ve been a client of Emily’s for 8 months now! And I’ve seen many benefits- weight loss, mental boost, sleeping better…but I really love my confidence in my strength to keep up with my 4 kiddos 5 yrs old and under. I love that when we go to their momma and me sing & dance class that I am up and dancing the whole time, which makes them more excited to join in. It’s the little things that makes showing up for Emily’s classes 100% worth it! Thank you, Emily!

### 5/5 — Love that I can watch later

*2022-01-14, version 4.19.0*

I love that the workouts are recorded and immediately available to stream when it’s done. Great flexibility for me. Sometimes it’s glitchy, but it’s more often normal than glitchy, so I still like it.

### 5/5 — 🔥

*2021-06-10, version 4.19.0*

Always good music and vibes

### 5/5 — Love it!! Ballet Blast my Fave!!

*2021-05-05, version 4.18.0*

Excellent app!! A total must have if you’re into fitness, freedom and flexibility !!! Thank you, Freeplay!!! Enjoying the ride ❤️😊

### 5/5 — Great App

*2021-05-01, version 4.18.0*

Love everything about the app. Easy sign up and gives you so many different choices in workouts and times. So useful especially when you have kids. Subscribe to someone and you can replay their past workouts. Definitely a lifesaver esp with the pandemic and all. I am good doing home workouts with my kids from the comfort of home.

### 5/5 — 1 thing missing

*2021-04-01*

Once casting is available this app will be perfect!

### 5/5 — Freeplay forever!

*2020-12-31, version 4.13.0*

I love Freeplay! There is a wide variety of partners from SLC to Provo. Once you go outside of these perimeters...not so much. If you live between salt lake and Provo though, I absolutely recommend Freeplay. I’ve been a Freeplay member for about 2 years now. It’s motivated me to get into the best shape since having my 2 kids. Thank you Freeplay!!!
