### 4/5 — Ok, but there are a few issues

*2014-10-17*

Transitioning to teaching skating in the USFS system (from ISI) I purchased this app to brush up on the slightly different elements in the Basic Skill Program. I love the idea of the app for many purposes (skaters, parents, instructors), but found too many bugs to give it five stars.

Menu pages: when viewing in portrait mode the items are squished together on items Freeskate 2, 4 and 5 (I realize in landscape it is fine, but Freestyle 1 is perfect).

Description pages: there are elements that the name of the element, the description, and the video do not match up.

Example: Freeskate 2 - Waltz 3's have a Begining Back Spin description; Freeskate 3 - Forward and Backward Crossovers have a Back Spin description.

Consistency in descriptions: maintaining the order of focus will make it easier to follow.

Example: Jumps - sometimes the focus of "jump" is first, sometimes third.

Typos: Freeskate 3: Waltz 8 & Backspin descriptions: "Focus: Focus" repeating term (this happens in a few places).

Freeskate 2: Basic backward outside and backward inside consecutive edges

"Focus:Edge" missing space.

Description window: could be much bigger (full screen) so there is no need to scroll through to read the paragraph.

Just like in skating - consistency is key!!!!

Please review the app with a fine tooth comb, and I would happily give it 5 stars.

### 5/5 — Awesome!!

*2012-01-13, version 1.1*

I do figure skating and this is a great app!

### 4/5 — Promising app!

*2011-12-17*

What this app currently is capable of; demonstrating the elements is fantastic! Students with this app can leave their LTS lesson and practice and use these videos to remember how the element is performed for a passing mark. However for the coach I was hoping to be able to enter my student lis and grade them on each element so that I have one location for all this information and when the student has passed all the elements of a level it could inform me and the student of that... Easy help during a fast paced LTS schedule. This idea might only be useful on the larger screen of my iPad.

### 5/5 — Great resource for skaters and parents

*2011-12-09*

Nice demonstration of the various elements for each skating level. Especially helpful for the beginning skater or parent who wants to understand what their kids are learning. These are great - would love to see you expand into moves in the field!

### 5/5 — Great resource

*2011-12-05*

Great app! Very helpful for skaters to use on there own and another teaching aid for coaches. I used it last night for the first time on the ice and the kids loved it!

### 5/5 — Great app!

I just told all my students to download this to their iPods! Maybe this will encourage them to practice. Waiting on the moves in the field app, that would definitely be helpful.

### 1/5 — Why won't this freestyle app update?

*2013-06-26*

I just want the notification to go away and have the updated app. How does one achieve this aside from tapping it all of the time?

### 1/5 — Great app... Before the update

*2013-06-16*

I have tried to update and get an error message about not enough memory. I cleared 5GB off my phone and the app still won't update. Tried to delete it and reinstall, and it won't even reinstall. Surely it isn't 5GB of data???

### 1/5 — Would not buy

*2013-02-24*

This app is only freestyle 1-6. It doesn't have pre-preliminary-senior moves in the field or freeskates. Not helpful and not alot of content. :( you don't want to buy this.

### 1/5 — TERRIBLE!!!!!

*2013-01-27, version 1.3*

Would give 0 stars if I could. Lots of mistakes. Plus, when doing a sit spin the skater should actually be in a LOW sit position, not whatever this child was performing.

### 1/5 — Not satisfied.

*2012-07-24*

I bought this app in hopes that it would give clear instructions and demonstrations of simple figure skating moves. However, there are no instructions whatsoever on the moves, and there aren't that many available moves to look at. Also, the girl in the videos, demonstrating, is obviously a beginner and tends to stumble or preform poorly or inaccurately. This app definitely needs some work.

### 1/5 — Doesnt load

*2012-07-20, version 1.3*

They updated this app and now it doesn't work! Disappointed :( it was sooo good before. How am I going to practice? Huh

### 2/5 — Could be better

*2016-05-01*

Great app with good qualities, but some of the moves start off wrong, like in a standstill, in which we do not learn it as. You should make and improvement where it has multiple ways to do the move.

### 3/5 — Can’t play video

*2024-01-06*

I can’t seem to play any videos anymore on the app. Is there a problem with the app?

### 3/5 — Pretty Good

*2012-08-04*

It's mostly correct. There are some errors in the videos.

### 3/5 — Not bad

*2012-08-03*

Sit spin is not low enough for most standards these days. It would be nice to have a draw tool and for the video to pause after I release the slow motion option instead of returning to normal speed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2015-07-17*

Really helpful app. I always refer to it to make sure I'm executing my elements correctly when I'm not with my coach. It's a great reference point to not only see how to execute the elements but also read on how to do them as well.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2015-02-11, version 2.1*

So helpful!!!

### 5/5 — wonderful tool

*2014-01-24*

I love this app as it is a great resource for skaters and moms/dads alike. Looking forward to using some of the new apps by this developer as we progress further.

### 5/5 — Great app!!!

*2013-10-06, version 2.1*

Perfect for a skate mom trying to identify the various jumps.

### 5/5 — Fabulous App!!

*2013-01-16*

This is a great app for coaches! I don't always have my books with me so having the skills right in my phone is a major plus!!

### 5/5 — Great!!

*2013-01-10*

I love the fact that I can show my skaters a skill and explain to them what they need to do. Awesome thank you.

### 5/5 — 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

*2012-09-02*

Brilliant app, but please update for iPad!

### 5/5 — Freestyle USFS Basic Skills

*2012-08-19*

This is a GREAT APP. I can show my skaters how elements need to be done. As a Medicare age coach with arthritis., this app is extremely important, as I can't physically do some of these skills anymore. I also use my iPhone to video the skater so they can see what they are doing when I'm teaching.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2012-06-14*

I am a figure skating coach and i told all of my freeskate 6 students to download it! It helps them with their single axel, and they are doing much better now! The videos are great examples. Thank you for making this wonderful app!

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2012-01-17*

These apps are great. Chock full of useful information and video samples. Easy to use if you're a coach or student. They also make great reference for the casual skater. Cant wait to see what comes next.
