### 2/5 — Erratic connection to iPhone 16 Pro Max

*2026-06-16, version 2.13.1*

The freestyle Libre 2 sensors are inconsistent in their connectivity with the Bluetooth on an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Sometimes they work flawlessly sometimes they work occasionally and sometimes they just keep dropping every two minutes or so. If Abbot Laboratory can ever get the app to work properly, it will be an excellent tool, but until then it is a very mediocre one. The company is prompt in replacing sensors that don’t work.

### 1/5 — Possible issues with iOS 26.5

*2026-05-19, version 2.13.1*

Today, immediately after installing the latest iOS 26.5 update on my iPhone, I started to receive quality control alerts indicating that my sensor had failed quality control and I needed to replace the sensor early after only a week. No alerts prior to updating the iOS. Coincidence? I am hesitant to replace the sensor before knowing if there is an issue with the recent Apple OS update.

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2026-05-12, version 2.13.1*

I can no longer trust and rely on Abbott. The scanner rarely ever works anymore and enough of my time has been wasted troubleshooting this nonsense over the last 8 years. They clearly don’t care about their customer feedback or releasing timely software updates, considering how long these same issues have been ongoing. It’s completely unacceptable. I’m switching to Dexcom for reliability & peace of mind.

### 1/5 — Always loosing signal T

*2026-05-09, version 2.13.1*

Always loosing signal. Alarm sound lousy

### 2/5 — Missing Features

*2026-05-07, version 2.13.1*

I’ve used this app on both Android and iPhone, and I find the iPhone version doesn’t stay connected as well. That may be a problem with running apps in the background. I’m not sure.

The real problem I have with this app is the lack of widget and watch functionality. In order for me to get my blood sugar level on my watch, I needed to get Libre Linkup as well as a 3rd party app to actually display the results on my watch.

With Bluetooth capabilities on my watch, I should be able to connect my sensor directly to it. Baring that, a watch interface would be very useful. Or even just being able to display my BS on my lock screen would be nice.

Whenever the reading on my watch looks off, I need open the libra app to verify it’s connected and then see if it has the same reading that my watch is showing.

### 1/5 — Loses connection all the time

*2026-05-04, version 2.13.1*

I’ve been frustrated with this app for a long time. My sensor loses connection to the app at least 3+ times a day. It’s so frustrating. Wish it was more stable and didn’t lose connection so frequently. I got to the point of stopping using the system for a few months.

### 2/5 — Signal problems

*2026-04-28, version 2.13.1*

So I just replied my sensor and it keeps loosing the connection to my phone, so it’s not constantly monitoring my readings. Other than that i have no problem with it.

To developers please update the freestyle Libre two app for more consistent monitoring

### 1/5 — Not worth the money

*2026-04-20, version 2.13.1*

Too many defective sensors dying with days still left. Terms of service updates causing sensor to end with several days remaining. You’re not getting the time you pay for, so I would not recommend Freestyle to anyone. This review is based on multiple devices that I stocked up on. Thankfully I just finished the last one, dead 3 days in advance. Will never buy products from this company again.

### 2/5 — Signal Loss Alarms keep alarming

*2026-04-18, version 2.13.1*

App should have Apple Health integration without use of 3rd party apps AFTER 4yrs.

App also sets multiple connection alarms even if disable this alarm… user forced to clear multiple alarms one at a time… should be 1 event only, 0 if signal loss alarms TURNED OFF

Annoying

### 1/5 — Ce tte application

*2026-03-29, version 2.13.1*

Cette application est vraiment dépasser cjac fois donné erroné soi trop ou perte signal et de plus ne fonction les tableaux rien ne fonctionne correctement

### 2/5 — Fix the damn app !! Updated

*2026-03-16, version 2.13.0*

Still no fix

This app has so much potential but it appears to have been abandoned for the newer Libre 3.

My low blood sugar alarm doesn’t go off any longer on my phone. If I’m lucky it will go off on my Apple Watch. It used work but some update or something done to the Libre app has made it unreliable. Troubleshooting has not resolved this issue.

The sensors themselves don’t always work properly and can give false low blood sugar readings. In the middle of the night, that low blood sugar alarm is critical.

What part of that don’t you comprehend???

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2026-03-05, version 2.13.0*

We bought the sensors and were excited to use the technology and its promise of convenience, however the app is very bad. It’s not intuitive, full of bugs, and has an outdated layout

### 2/5 — Apple Health

*2026-02-26, version 2.13.0*

No Apple health support

### 2/5 — Calm down on the alerts

*2026-02-26, version 2.13.0*

The app isn’t bad. When it’s connected it’s super handy. It does randomly disconnect for hours at a time if you’re not watching it (which means there are no alerts). But when the alerts are turned on… prepare for a TON. And with the most obnoxious alert sounds if you have the sound on your phone going.

Seriously. Calm down on the notifications. I want to know what’s up, but let us mute them! I don’t need 17 “high glucose” alerts in the time it takes for the insulin to hit my system. It crates a scenario where I naturally start ignoring them all which ruins the point of them. Allow us to click a “mute for X hours or minutes” feature. Otherwise I just turn it off all together and it’s pointless.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Sensor Error

*2026-08-13, version 2.13.1*

Come back when you’re not not low.

### 1/5 — Not good.

*2026-08-04, version 2.13.1*

The Dexom last shorter by 4 days but the value between the two sensors is incomparable. This app does not give you adequate warning whatsoever, your sugar drops and it’s a “sensor issue” your sugar rises and it’s the same thing. No widgets to quickly view your sugar so you have to open the app to see anything. Only warning for high and low, no rising fast or dropping.

If you can, switch to a Dexcom. I promise you you’ll have a better experience with it. Abbott is worth $182 billion dollars and they can’t make a product that is more than just basic.

The only reason I’m using a Libre is because I ran out of Dexcoms and was in a pinch, but I’d rather poke my finger than deal with this stuff.

### 1/5 — Still terrible

*2026-08-03, version 2.13.1*

See above- can I give it a zero?

### 1/5 — Useless customer support

*2026-07-29, version 2.13.1*

The app stopped sharing with my medical practitioner- customer support had no clue why and after many suggestions that didn’t work told me to delete the app, thus losing all the data, create A NEW EMAIL ACCOUNT and reinstall the app. I cannot roll my eyes hard enough. Thanks I will just continue to send screen shots of the reports to the doctor 🙄🙄🙄. Abbott labs has responded, suggesting I contact their customer support! I guess they missed the part where I said I had contacted them three times and they were no help at all.

### 1/5 — Worst product of all time

*2026-07-26, version 2.13.1*

Never used/dealt with a worst product in my whole life.

### 1/5 — You are not their customer

*2026-07-15, version 2.13.1*

Still a terrible app with no improvements for many years. Us diabetics deserve better leaders in the industry. Shame! Shame! Shame! In it all for the money, damn Abbott.

### 1/5 — Really Annoying

*2026-06-24, version 2.13.1*

The main issue I have is my phone can be less than 3 feet away from the sensor and it drops the signal. Keeps waking us up.

### 1/5 — Worst application for your life

*2026-06-09, version 2.13.1*

You just cant relate on this app you sugar level is depend on username and password or it can be blocked as a result of fight for your privacy but first of all all health related apps should work offline ALL THE TIME

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work Loses connection 95% if the time

*2026-06-09, version 2.13.1*

It does not work, connection is constantly lost, I mean : CONSTANTLY. No, there is no issue with my iPhone and Bluetooth, they are new and work fine with everything.
This product should not be sold. I had to pay several hundreds for the device and it’s installation, and had to take a day off work for this consultation, so I am filing a legal complaint in my province for reimbursement and damages.
It’s no legal to have a US based and English-only customer service when you sell products in other countries, so don’t bother telling me to call a 1-800 number for a help desk in the US or God knows where in Asia.

### 1/5 — Bluetooth issues

*2026-06-06, version 2.13.1*

The Bluetooth in my phone works perfectly fine however the app barely even scans when I hold it to the sensor

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-04-03, version 2.13.1*

This is an amazingly well-designed app. Very easy to use, easy to export results, and with easy-to-understand documentation.

Shocking to discover that a Bluetooth connection can be established and maintained so seamlessly!

Thank you:)

### 5/5 — Freestyle Libre 2

*2026-01-21, version 2.13.0*

works great, have been using it for 3 years.

### 5/5 — Genius

*2026-01-12, version 2.13.0*

A very convenient way to learn in real time
to avoid the food or combination of foods tant caused peaks in glucose,

### 5/5 — Absolute Garbage

*2025-12-15, version 2.13.0*

Two sensors wasted. iPhone 16 Pro 26.2 update and says app is not compatible 🤬

### 4/5 — Love it use it every day… But one suggestion.

*2026-06-05, version 2.13.1*

I love the app. I don’t have to carry around a scanner anymore.
And without it id probably have a hard time.
BUT: It would be super useful to have a widget for the IPhone lock screen.
That way if i feel gross and shaky i don’t have to unlock my phone every time.

### 4/5 — Dark mode

*2026-03-24, version 2.13.1*

The app works well. I do however dread looking at my glucose levels in the dark. I would like to see dark mode come to this app

### 4/5 — Getting better and better

*2023-09-19*

Latest update is a game changer and automatically sends readings to your phone every minute without having to tap it. Something I thought we’d only get when Levre 3 comes out.

I REALLY would like to see them take advantage of iPhone live widgets so I can see my updated current reading from my Lock Screen or right on my homepage without even entering the app

**Developer response:** Thanks for your comment. We are continuing to improve the app and we will look into this. We'd like to help. Please contact Customer Support at 1-888-205-8296 if you'd like assistance.

### 3/5 — Needs to advance to be better

*2026-03-29, version 2.13.1*

This app does what it needs but it also needs support for Apple Health and watch support. I don’t always want to pull out phone to check my numbers seeing it on watch would be ideal.

### 3/5 — No Apple Health Support — It’s a deal breaker.

*2026-02-24, version 2.13.0*

I’ve started two lengthy reviews only to have the App Store boot me out so I’ll be succinct.

If you continue to fail to support Apple Health then within less than 6 months you will lose me as a customer.

I likely have more insight into why you are failing to support it than many users. However, even if it’s hard, or there are regulatory hurdles, or you want to hoard all of the data (which I’m presently sharing with you all for yourself) I don’t actually care.

You’ve had more than enough time to complete integration with Apple Health. Large, successful CGM competitors offer native integration. Either get it done or explain clearly and transparently why you are choosing not to integrate. Whatever the reason, I will say without reservation, this is a horrible decision for the future success of your GCM product. In this space you always want to be ahead. Users want a world where they can mix and match different components. I find it irritating that my wife had to change to what by all measures is an inferior GCM just to go back on her closed loop insulin pump.

If you want beta testers for Apple Health integration, please hit me up. I’m very familiar with high technology, software systems, and I have a better than average understanding of diabetes.

### 3/5 — It scans annnnnnd that’s it.

*2026-02-09, version 2.13.0*

Hey, so good news, it scans, and displays your glucose including your estimated A1C, and they have great customer service.
However it is lacking in connectivity with Apple health and an Apple Watch app.
It looks like the US is getting Apple Watch support via a different Abbott app, so maybe we’ll get it soon? Not sure why the wait though.
I’d love for Apple health (which can monitor calories used and medications) and Apple Watch support. Further I would want the Apple Watch app to facilitate scanning with your watch.
