### 2/5 — Not a Home Run

*2026-01-28, version 2.7.8*

Worked great initially. Then I had to delete the whole app, including history that was being shared with my healthcare provider. I don’t want to have to do that again. Seems like it only connects/scans well for maybe first 12 days after deleting the app and re-adding—only now the data is lost. And then it’s always saying it lost the signal. Very frustrating and annoying. And alarms unavailable. What good are high glucose and low glucose alerts if the alarms are NEVER working. It’s not my phone and everything else is updated.

### 2/5 — Alerts 24/7

*2026-01-10, version 2.7.8*

This app is so annoying with Constant alerts. I just want to check my glucose 4 times a 4 and now this app owns my phone. I need to leave it running 24/7, the silent feature is only 6 hour so it screams early in the morning.

### 2/5 — Undependable

*2025-12-08, version 2.7.8*

Scan unavailable notification most of each day. Very disappointing allowing for zero faith

### 2/5 — Scan error

*2025-12-05, version 2.7.8*

4 sensors have given the error message of change sensor that it’s already been used. Anyone have a solution

### 2/5 — iOS Compatibility

*2025-11-06, version 2.7.8*

I have been waiting for the Freestyle 2+ Sensor App to upgrade for compatibility with the new iOS 26, so that I can get a new phone. Abbott has had plenty of time to update their sensors, but once again I am having to wait to update my operating system or get a new phone, due to the ineptness of your IT dept. I am seriously considering switching to Dexcom.

### 2/5 — too bad this is the only app i can use for this feature

*2025-10-07, version 2.7.8*

i despise using this app because it came with the device to measure how low or high my mother’s blood sugar is. it disconnects all the time and when i try to connect it rarely works and this is when i am literally a few feet from the sensor. the guy who made this app should be fired!

### 3/5 — Password

*2025-09-26, version 2.7.8*

I can use the app due to needing to reset password but can’t remember old password to rest it. Can I get assistance please?

### 2/5 — Constant false alarms

*2025-09-06, version 2.7.8*

Often turn off notifications so I can get a nights sleep. Never got a legitimate alarm at night.

### 2/5 — Driven me crazy!

*2025-08-28, version 2.7.8*

This meter is constantly loosing connection, it beeping all the time. I can be right beside it and it losses connection. I can check my blood sugar and it would be high, so I take insulin. But the meter will continue to tell me I have high blood sugar and will keep beeping. I wish I would continue using my phone and not this meter.

Just switched to 2 plus and constantly it going off saying Alarms Unavailable. I scan the sensors and it still will show Alarms unavailable. It's going off in the middle of the night waking me up. I did not have this issue until I switch to 2 Plus

### 3/5 — Needs to catch up

*2025-08-28, version 2.7.8*

I’m starting to get errors of more than 50 points since the most recent iPhone update

### 2/5 — Not working correctly.

*2025-08-25, version 2.7.8*

I really like this product but in the last 6-8mo we routinely get error messages or the needle gets bent upon insertion. (I follow the instructions as directed). Very frustrating!! Additionally, incorrect readings that cause the alarm to go off. Makes me potentially mistrust any/all readings!! Please fix this we i like this product!

### 2/5 — Too loud

*2025-08-25, version 2.7.8*

No way of adjusting volume.

### 1/5 — Loses connection frequently

*2025-08-23, version 2.7.8*

I used these in an emergency and blew thru 2 units (14 days each) in 10 days. Having paid privately for these, I’d say they suck2theMaximus.

### 3/5 — Не подключается датчик

*2025-08-23, version 2.7.8*

Не получается подключить датчик к телефону , я попробовала на подключить на разных приложениях, перезагрузить iPhone, даже купила новый датчик. И то он не работает.

Два датчика, и оба не работают

### 1/5 — Libre2

*2025-08-21, version 2.7.8*

Horrible product! Fall off all the time and other times sensors don’t read.

### 3/5 — Connected Apps Does Not Work

*2025-08-06, version 2.7.8*

It is supposed to give the option to share my readings with those I invite via the LibreLinkUp app, but the Connected Apps option shows as unavailable. Please fix ASAP

### 1/5 — Does not work with IOS 18.5

*2025-07-29, version 2.7.8*

Does not work with IOS 18.5 wasted my money. I’ve contacted freestyle Libre 2 just like customer service ask but not resolution other that spend more money on a reader $100 even though sales says works with iPhone or wait until update comes out. ITS BEEN 8 WEEKS SENSE 18.5 FOR IOS WAS RELEASED DO YOU NOT KNOW PEOPLES LIVES ARE AT DEPENDING ON YOUR PRODUCT WORK PROPERLY

### 1/5 — Failure

*2025-07-24, version 2.7.8*

Had this installed as a replacement. Abbott labs sent me a free device bc the other was deactivated when I updated their app per their instructions, on my original app.

This device never worked and the entire experience was frustrating; a waste of money, time, and space on my iPhone.

Total failure.
Felt like Abbott is using us as some test case for a very bad product.

Deserves 0 stars.

### 1/5 — Needs multiple device support

*2025-07-24, version 2.7.8*

you can only have a single device signed in at a time. This makes it pretty difficult when 2 parents are caring for a child and only one can check levels

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — WORST SYSTEM

*2026-01-29, version 2.7.8*

HISTORY: I have used the freestyle Libre system for many years with success, up until about 8-9 months ago.

NOW IT IS HORRIBLE. Every single sensor dies after either 1) immediately, like the TWO j have out on in the past 24 hours, or 2. within 2-3 DAYS of use.

I purchased a new blood testing monitor at CVS today and will return to finger sticks from now on. These Libre 2 sensors are unreliable, expensive and worthless.

YOU SHOULD FIX THESE WORTHLESS SENSORS. I’m sure I’m not the only diabetic who has had enough.

### 1/5 — Libre 2 was much more reliable for me

*2026-01-15, version 2.7.8*

I never had problems with my Libre 2 alerting me when I was either high or low, but the Libre 2+ seems to always go out of range or off-line when I’m having an issue and it’s right in the pocket of my pants so it’s very frustrating. What good is a CGM if it doesn’t work when you need it the most? I really hope they make updates that can fix this because otherwise I think I’m going to find another alternative

### 1/5 — Not compatible with libre2 only on iPhone

*2025-11-17, version 2.7.8*

Just wasted my 100$

### 1/5 — What a mess

*2025-10-28, version 2.7.8*

So many apps so many sensors so many regions. What is this trash

### 1/5 — Libre 2 plus

*2025-09-17, version 2.7.8*

Horrible. On my second sensor it won’t keep a connection. This is a trial, I’m not diabetic so I’m paying cash for these things. I have a 14plus iPhone. This is insane I can’t even get a full day of connection. My phone is by my side constantly no reason to lose connection.

### 1/5 — Horrible developers

*2025-09-12, version 2.7.8*

This app is missing features that other monitor apps far surpass.
The worst is forcing those of us simply watching our BG to enable these alarms. I’m in no danger of low levels and this alarm wakes me up at night just to tell me to scan. Horrible design.

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2025-09-10, version 2.7.8*

The Libre 2 Plus App is terrible.

Changing settings for alarms to turn them off or silence them is a waste of time.

Even when off, alarms CONSTANTLY sound. Annoyingly insufficient.

The response: “Contact customer service”.

To Abbott: A comment & a question.

I called customer service & got someone who tried to speak English who had no answers.

Why don’t you FIX this glitchy app?

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2025-09-07, version 2.7.8*

The Libre 2 Plus App is terrible.

Changing settings for alarms to turn them off or silence them is a waste of time.

Even when off, alarms CONSTANTLY sound. Annoyingly insufficient.

### 1/5 — It’s a total failure.

*2025-08-30, version 2.7.8*

This sensor is not trustable at all. It has stop working.
It is insanely expensive !!!!!!!!

### 1/5 — Useless demanded update

*2025-08-28, version 2.7.8*

Had to install US version. It wouldn’t install on my iPad Pro at all or on my android phone. Installed on my wife’s iPhone but then it wanted an update. Useless. Glad I got free sample and didn’t pay anything. Into the garbage where it belongs. They should stop advertising until it works.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Still some issues, but I like the constant monitoring.

*2025-08-17, version 2.7.8*

The instant readings on my phone are great. However, the out-of-range alarm sometimes rings randomly even when I’m sitting a foot away. I reinstalled it and the issue still occurred. The Customer Service at this company is very good.

### 5/5 — Have had 2 sensors quit working

*2025-03-13, version 2.7.8*

I have had 2 sensors quit with the warning sensor not working replace it has happened with 2 in a row shorting the sensor time by 1 day each. It keeps asking me update the app but it is automatically done. I have not changed phones for 3 years but looking to go to Apple 16 Pro Max is there and concerns I should look out for.

### 5/5 — Works well

*2025-03-12, version 2.7.8*

Have been using this app with my Libre 2 sensor and have had no issues. Easy to use to check my sugar anytime.

### 5/5 — Get an Apple Watch.

*2024-01-29*

So first off nothing is perfect for us with the Beetus. There will never be anything in our lifetime that is going to be perfect and let us live a normal life. That being said, the combination of this and an Apple Watch has changed my life. The anxiety of constantly having to worry about being low has gone down a lot and just to feel somewhat normal at times is nice. Finger sticks are rare, usually only when starting the sensor or something is off. Remember that these only do your fluid and not your blood so it’s not going to be perfect but it is pretty close. The glue on the sensors can get a little gummy when it’s hot and humid out so I use some K Tape over the sensor in the summer to hold it to my skin. The alarms aren’t that bad with an Apple Watch. I set my high alarm to 220 and my low at 100 just cause if I hit 100 out of nowhere I better get some candy in me. I don’t know what all the hate is regarding this app but I wish you all the best and get a freaking Apple Watch. It will make you healthier too. Get up and live your life.

**Developer response:** We're happy to hear you find the app helpful.

### 5/5 — CGM output to home screen while phone is locked would be nice or to Apple series 8 watch

*2022-12-30, version 2.7.3*

I wish the Freestyle Libre 2 would incorporate the series 8 watch and list the glucose level be at high or low on Thanksgiving this year no one had a password to my phone, and I collapsed without notice because the near field communication chip in my iPhone failed, but before that happened there was a notification, and if the glucose level had been posted to my watch, people would’ve known what would’ve needed to be done. I am very lucky. There was another diabetic at the dinner table because my sugar had fall into 44 which is below critical. Even if it were posted on the face of my phone. This way people would not need to know the password to get into my Apple iPhone. To see my blood glucose level.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2022-08-31, version 2.7.2*

I have been using Libre 2 for a year, and I have been able to reduce my A1C level significantly. I have been able to get off of all but 1 of my meds, and I hope to be able to reduce the dosage after I have my labs done and meet my doctor in 9 days.
The numbers are not the same as testing it the old fashion way, and it was explained to me that there is a lag between the testing methods, so I stick my finger once a week to be confident that the readings are close.
About a year ago, I had a heart attack and had a stent placed on my heart. I knew my A1C was high and could never track what the foods were doing to sugar levels. It makes a difference to take the reading at any time or place and know what triggers my numbers to rise. Not has this helped to lower my A1C, it has also helped me to lose 55 pounds too!

### 5/5 — Better them the old reviews!

*2022-08-26*

Been using it for a month. Was initially disappointed to read old reviews. Clearly they have made great improvements via updates.
I have not had any significant issues with the App on a IPhone Pro Max 13. My reads are great and take them as often as needed or wanted. It is the best historical and accurate data that is available on the app and available for my Dr and NP to access. It has already removed some guesswork in treatments leading to better dosing of insulin. Easy to spot and see the data in ways I have never seen before. My average daily/weekly glucose is down 13 and I have lost 3 pounds in 30 days by eating better and not chasing my numbers. The alarms do as they should in alerting high but more importantly low for those with hypoglycemic unawareness. It is a blessing to wake up in the middle of night when going low and no longer becoming altered and unsafe. I give it a 5 vs a 4 because of the true benefits and knowing mfg will continue to improve. I am feeling better, am much safer and finally able to take greater control in managing my diabetes.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the comment. We are happy you find the App useful.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app!

*2022-05-08, version 2.7.2*

I’ve been using the app for 10 days. It is phenomenal. I’m dumbfounded by the poor reviews and have to chalk them up to lack of familiarity or training in how to use the app. If I could, I’d give the app 6 stars. The ability to scan as much as desired to see the effects of different meals or fasting is extraordinary. Or, you prefer to scan less, the monitor stores the last 8 hours of data. Being able to set target ranges and custom alarms is easy and effective. If you are a diabetic, get this free app and use it. You don’t need a separate reader. Just use your phone. See daily, weekly or quarterly data. View average glucose levels to determine immediately how your equivalent A1C levels are trending and so much more! The only caution is that rarely, but sometimes, it doesn’t scan the first time. Simply tap the scan symbol and try again. A very minor inconvenience once in a while. This app has changed my life in only 10 days.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your comment. We are happy you find the App useful.

### 5/5 — Been extremely helpful

*2022-05-05, version 2.7.2*

My doctor prescribed this back in January after a series of low blood glucose levels. What is nice is, it alerts me on the lows and highs and I do wake up even when in the deep sleep and take action. Prior to this, I did not have visibility to the intra-day fluctuations and so was oblivious to how my eating habits was affecting my blood glucose. With the help of this app (and sensor) I was able to bring my A1C down by 1.5 and hope to bring it down about 1 point.

I would like the app to set multiple alarms. This morning, it alerted me at 85 (my old minimum) but was too tired and went back to sleep. By the time I woke up an hour later I as at 62 - which is dangerously low. I wish I could have set an alert at 70 just to wake me up again.

### 5/5 — Love It!

*2022-04-26, version 2.7.2*

The alarms are the whole purpose for having this system! I’m diabetic and I’m hypoglycemic. My glucose level drops randomly and unexpectedly. I love how the app immediately lets me know when my glucose is dropping! I also appreciate how it continues to monitor and lets me know if it’s still in a range set as too low. It helps me gauge how much I need to do in order to improve my glucose level. I think this is the best for diabetics! It goes off at work and immediately gets my coworkers’ as well as my supervisor’s attention. They instantly check on me to make sure that I’m ok. My husband has his ears tuned to the alarms so he’ll know to check on me and to administer whatever help I need! I have no complaints about the Freestyle Libre 2 because it does what it is designed to do and that is to keep me in good health! Great job, Abbot! I look forward to the 3!
