Otherwise I can’t use my sensor ### 3/5 — Accurate Readings, But critical safety grip. *2026-08-11, version 3.6.7* The new Libre 3 device looks identical to its predecessor, and on the surface, that's where the similarities end in a good way — the reader app tracks and analyzes blood glucose levels accurately and consistently. Data logging and trend analysis work well. However, there's a critical flaw: the high and low glucose alerts are not functioning reliably. This isn't a minor bug — real-time notifications are the entire point of a Libre 3 Without them, users lose the early warning system needed to catch dangerous highs or lows before they become emergencies, undermining the core purpose of the device for daily diabetes management. Accurate data with no working alerts is like a smoke detector that logs smoke levels but never sounds an alarm. The manufacturer needs to treat this as a priority fix, not a footnote — and until it's resolved, this device can't be fully trusted for safe, independent glucose management. Solid sensor technology let down by a critical safety gap. Kept saying disconnected requiring another power cycle. The display shows current level and an arrow showing trend. The graph is only 12 hours of history then gone. If want to see what the readings were two hours ago I have to log on to a website and drill down through reports. It only tells you the reading in the moment. Update: I am encouraged by the customer care reaching out to me, my input was well received and seems to have been appreciated. I Received a prompt response to my concerns. Second update: Decided to switch to the Dexcom D7, their app already has the ability to scroll through all measurements easily so you do not have to drill down on their website to find. ### 1/5 — Not an option *2026-07-01, version 3.6.6* It isn’t reliable and overpriced. Whether it stops giving alerts, stops reading, or simply shuts itself down. The size is great, but if it doesn’t work often, What’s the point? And how long before it is available to update? ### 3/5 — Cup half full *2026-06-22, version 3.6.6* Nice to have ability to check measurements and some graphical feedback, but lack of ability to zoom in on data and no Apple watch widget is terrible. ### 1/5 — Faulty sensors - I cannot recommend the FreeStyle Libre 3 *2026-06-21, version 3.6.6* I am not diabetic and I am not on insulin or glucose-lowering medication. I purchased the device for general wellbeing, to understand my glucose response to diet, fasting, exercise, and meal timing. Instead, the device has been a complete waste of time and has created confusion rather than useful insight. I have now gone through three sensors/replacements, and each one produced readings that were unstable, contradictory, and often made no physiological sense. The sensors repeatedly showed low glucose alarms, sometimes even below 3.0 mmol/L, while I had no symptoms of hypoglycemia. I eventually purchased a Contour Next blood glucose meter to verify the Libre readings. The comparison confirmed the problem. At one point, the Libre showed 3.3 mmol/L while the Contour Next showed 5.0 mmol/L at essentially the same time. On another occasion, the Libre showed 7.6 mmol/L while the Contour Next showed 6.3 mmol/L. These are not minor differences. They completely change the interpretation of the reading. The problem was not a small margin of error. The readings fluctuated rapidly and unpredictably. The device would show a low alarm, then a normal reading, then another low reading, then a high-normal reading, all within a short period and without any clear reason. This made it impossible to trust any number it gave. I lost more than a month trying to make sense of these sensors, waiting for replacements to be shipped, testing new sensors, speaking with support, and doing dozens of unnecessary finger-prick checks just to verify whether the Libre readings were real. Instead of helping me get closer to the goals I bought it for, it became the problem itself. A glucose monitor is supposed to provide useful and reliable information. In my experience, the FreeStyle Libre 3 did the opposite. It produced erratic readings, false alarms, distorted daily averages, and made me question every result. After three faulty sensors, I have lost all confidence in the product. I am removing the third sensor and will not even request another replacement because it would only waste more time. ### 2/5 — New diabetic *2026-06-20, version 3.6.6* Did not try any other brand but this app is not user friendly at all!! Like I can’t even backtrack my data…. Only gives the live data, then it’s a graphic and you need to guess… unpleasant, to say the least! ### 1/5 — Incompatibility issues *2026-06-18, version 3.6.6* The app isn’t compatible with the latest iOS version for the latest iPhones. I can’t use it. ### 3/5 — Accurate, but missing features in Canada *2026-06-17, version 3.6.6* For some reason, the app is crippled in Canada. It won’t sync Apple health or Apple Watch. You need to use a third-party app to do that which is a little ridiculous in 2026. I really wish the devs would pay attention to countries other than the United States. I’m sure someone will make a comment that it’s because of Canada’s health laws… But feeding the data into an Apple Watch or Apple health has nothing to do with the accuracy of the data. If that was the case, many third-party apps wouldn’t be allowed to do it. Wake up, Devs… People exist outside of the the U.S. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Awful Product *2026-08-15, version 3.6.7* I have used these for the last four years and consistently have problems. The filament either goes sideways, the adhesive gives out within a day or two and the monitoring is constantly going off-line, once resulting in a hospital stay as I could not monitor a low glucose episode. I would strongly recommend trying something else. I really hope they get their act together because this is a very necessary product! ### 1/5 — 6 years and still no Apple Health integration *2026-08-12, version 3.6.7* What the Heck Abbott? You’ve been selling a doicky 70$+ that last 14 days and you’ve still not figured how to integrate the data, transferred via Bluetooth to my phone to Apple Health? Most basic glucose monitoring apps are able to do so and you’re telling me that Abbott, a global medical consortium can’t negotiate a protocol with Apple? That’s just lazy. ### 1/5 — Not accurate *2026-08-09, version 3.6.7* I tried 2 of these on the advice of the pharmacist at my diabetes clinic. I didn’t do a finger prick the whole time I was wearing it, therefore I don’t know if it was accurate the first time I used it. The second one I tried was way off of my actual bs. Within minutes of it syncing I got a low bs alert, so I did the finger prick and my actual bs was high. I didn’t get one accurate reading while using the second one. I’m going to try the dexcom g7 now. Let’s hope that one is more accurate. ### 1/5 — Too many problems *2026-08-08, version 3.6.7* Crashes way too often. Needs to work with the Apple Watch. Needs an iPhone widget. Readings are off most of the time. The sensor shots itself down almost every time I change it, looses signal and doesn’t kick back in for six hours at the time. I was told this product is better than Libre 2. In reality, this product is much worse than Libre 2!!! I’m thinking of switching back, if no improvements will be made! ### 1/5 — More taps required? Really? *2026-07-29, version 3.6.7* My biggest complaint about the previous version was the size of the target for text and numbers is so small, that I sometimes have to tap the same spot 3 times to enter anything. Still a problem on the most recent version. But now we have to click ‘done’ every time we enter a new value or sentence? I tried to call Abbot to see if I could get a fix on it, but they close at five on Sunday. Funny, I don’t stop being type 1 on a Sunday. I checked the apps and apparently I have the latest edition of the app. Now I’ve got to go back to the old finger prickin’ sticks. No joy. Update: it was the I phone mirror image on my new Mac desktop that messed up my libre 3 Bluetooth ability to relay info to my iPhone. When adding a note you can only add one type, you can no longer add multiple types per note. So you have to log food, wait a minute, then log rapid insulin, then wait a minute, then log long acting insulin. If you edit a note to add a second type, it deletes the first note, so you can only have one entry. I’ve contacted Abbot for help, they couldn’t find the problem. I’ve contacted Apple and they did a diagnosis, where there were no issues to scan the sensor. Now I’m stuck having to purchase a reader and carry both my phone and reader with me. My phone worked with the Libre 2 sensors.
