## What is FreeStyle LibreLink?

The FreeStyle LibreLink app is approved for use with FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensors. You can check your glucose by scanning your sensor with your phone. Now FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor users can get automatic glucose readings in the FreeStyle LibreLink app, updated every minute, and also receive alarms when your glucose is low or high. [1][2]

You can use the FreeStyle LibreLink app to:

* View your current glucose reading, trend arrow and glucose history
* Receive low or high glucose alarms with FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensors [2]
* Add notes to track your food, insulin use and exercise
* See reports, such as Time in Range and Daily Patterns
* Share your data with your doctor and family, with your permission [3]

SMARTPHONE COMPATIBILITY
Compatibility may vary between phones and operating systems. Learn more about compatible phones at http://FreeStyleLibre.com.

USING YOUR APP AND READER WITH THE SAME SENSOR
Alarms can only be issued on your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or your phone (not both). To receive alarms on your phone, you must start the sensor with the app. To receive alarms on your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader, you must start the sensor with your reader. Once the sensor has been started with the reader, you can also scan that sensor with your phone.

Remember that the app and reader do not share data with each other. For complete information on a device, scan your sensor every eight hours with that device; otherwise, your reports will not include all your data. You can upload and view data from all of your devices on LibreView.com.

### 2/5 — Such a bad user experience

*2026-05-09*

This app is a masterclass in how to stump the user experience at every possible need. Let me start with the most important one: You want to back the data up to Apple Health as every other health monitoring app does? Tough break, Libre Link doesn’t integrate with no one. You want to see your sugar levels from 10 minutes ago? Sorry, but you can’t. Want to scrub along the line to see what precise time your sugar levels spiked? Too bad. Can’t do that. Oh you made a note and now you want to edit the time stamp to a more accurate time? You’re out of luck. Some of these things are so basic, you wonder if the app design team was a bunch of interns who know nothing about user needs or interactions. Sigh. And remember, this is not the gold standard in measuring your glucose levels either. The variability can be 10%. So you pay ₹5000 and get a substandard experience with a somewhat unreliable reading. Go figure.

### 1/5 — Rubbish and Frustrating

*2026-04-17*

Please fire your IT and user experience teams. The login experience is horrendous. Remember the app is mostly used by senior citizens. The password requirement is unnecessarily long and complex. The screens have bugs. Basically useless. Forget about sugar, the poor users will get high BP by the time they get this app setup.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2026-04-10*

Easy to use, useful information

### 1/5 — Reliability issue

*2026-03-21*

Dears, I have been using Freestyle sensors for over 8-9 years experiencing from time to time a sensor issue while I was in France and in China. Since 3 months, we relocated to India and I had already 5 sensors failing, not even starting. Quality is super bad and the process to get sensors back is super slow… I’m very surprised that nobody is reacting… such a profound deception… and we talk about health monitoring system not earphones…

### 2/5 — Recent Changes in App?

*2026-03-04*

I affixed a new CGM a couple of days back, and the app has been behaving strangely. I use iOS 26.3 and am finding it very difficult to adapt to the changes. Am unable to view the dashboard, the loading page either shows my sugar level (even without me actively scanning it) or shows that no alarms are available.

### 1/5 — Alarm not working in freestyle liber 2 plus

*2026-02-02*

Need more improvement, not able to get alarm when signal is lost also not getting alarmed when sugar is going low!!! The whole point of buying this is to get alarmed in sleep so that we do not slip in coma when sugar is low!! Pathetic waste of money!!

### 3/5 — More updates required

*2026-01-14*

Option to select a reading should be their once recorded No option to delete a said entry - Otherwise all good NEED LOT TO IMPROVE THE APP , LOT TO DO TO MAKE IT FRIENDLY USER

**Developer response:** Dear Customer,

### 2/5 — Functional app. Could be lot better

*2026-01-12*

This is just a basic functional app. It could be lot better. The biggest issue is that in this day and age, they still don’t have a watch app.

### 3/5 — User friendliness

*2026-01-07*

the app needs to be much more user friendly… the apps being made by many startups are so user friendly and flexible. simple features like zooming in and out to see precise readings is not there in the app. in order to look thru the graph another linkup app is required. and in the linkup app only 12 hours data is valuable.
Abbott needs to make drastic improvement in the app. pl hire a young startup and they will do a good job. or else new startups who are selling cgms will leave you far behind.

### 5/5 — Time for a big update!

*2025-11-20*

I am unable to add my echo plus novopen device to the app. It is so much easier to add my doses to the app and it’s sad to see that this feature is not available in India. I don’t know if that’s pure ignorance or a deliberate move to hinder betterment in countries where type 1 diabetes is on a boom for capitalistic gains. I’m sorry if I sound rude, but after seeing so many children suffering from it and being deprived of updates and features and even lower prices, it makes me feel it’s unjustified. Thank you
