## What is Freestyles?

Freestyle rap, for everyone. Record it. Share it. Get better at it.

Freestyles is the only app built for freestyle rap. Pick a beat, hit record, and go off the top.
No studio, no autotune, no pen — just you, a mic and a beat.

RAP OVER BEATS
A library of beats to jump on, or bring your own. The waveform builds as you go.

SEE YOUR BARS
On-device speech recognition writes your words down as you say them, synced to the beat.
Private by default — nothing leaves your phone until you post.

GET SCORED
Rhyme density, timing and word usage, scored on every take. Watch the numbers climb.

WORD PACKS
Random words to weave in. Fun with friends, brutal when you're alone, and the fastest way to get
better at freestyling.

THE DAILY DROP
One beat, one word pack, every day. Same challenge for everyone. See who took it on.

THE FEED
Post a take, or keep it private. Listen, like, comment and save the ones that hit.

NOTIFICATIONS, YOUR WAY
Turn them on when you want them. Pick exactly which ones — reactions to your bars, the daily drop,
streak reminders — and nothing else. Never between 10pm and 8am.

You don't need to be a rapper. Someone's dad should feel as welcome as a seasoned MC. It's not that
hard to start — hop on.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-23

no beat? no problem. you can now record a cappella and still get scored. give the app a tempo -
tap it in or dial one in - and scoring follows your lines instead of a beat grid.

every result now shows what the score is based on: the beat, your taps, or just your bars.

  also in this one:
  • several bug and ux fixes

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-14

share links work now. send a take to someone without the app and it opens in the browser instead of going
nowhere — and if they have the app, it opens right there.

under the hood, the app also keeps better notes on where a take goes sideways — a beat that won't load, a
score that takes too long — so the next updates fix the right things.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-13

notifications are here. get a heads-up when someone reacts to your bars, when the daily drop is live,
and when a streak is on the line. turn them on in Settings → Notifications and pick exactly which ones
you want — nothing is on until you say so.

also in this one:
• word packs show up on the record screen even when live scoring is having a moment
• stop during the count-in cancels the take instead of starting a second one
• the Saves tab keeps up when you un-save something
• a new display name shows on the Stage right away
• everything fits on the iPhone SE

### 1.0 — 2026-08-13

No release notes.
