As for security, they force you to use 2FA. Looks annoying at the start, but then you realize that it's better to keep your money safe. ### 5/5 — Reliable tool *2022-07-21, version 1.16.10* I won't say that this wallet has always worked flawlessly when I've used it, but it still performed much better when I used it for a few months. Other services were so bad that I didn't want to keep using them, which is not the case with Freewallet. The syncing of the app with my account went well and all the information is displayed on the screen pretty quickly. The fact that you can store many types of coins in one application is already good, but it looks even better when the app has security methods, such as 2FA. You decide *2021-06-30, version 1.15.5* I got this app and was doing great in a stock and of course when the time comes to do exactly what I want, no more exchanges at that time. How convenient. But other apps were fine. Now with shib, I got an estimated 7 million for my exchange, I even did the math multiple times and even with network fees I should have easily had over 7 million shares. I’m sitting at 5.8 when the estimate was 7.5. Their transaction fees are ridiculous and not worth the time. I put in 75$ from doge and ended up with 47$ worth. Had I done that with Bitcoin (was cheaper to do 3 transactions) I would have had to put in 120$ and only reactive 60$ worth. Unless this gets better, these crypto will eventually be put into another app. I recommend if you can find a crypto on another app, do it there. Apple needs to suspend this app immediately. Freewallet allows deposits, but not withdrawals. You deposit anonymously, but then they require you to submit extremely sensitive personal info, to withdraw. They claim you’re required to complete KYC including your social security number, copy of passport, exchange email and keys for your original purchase. They are not required to do KYC by any law and the only reason for the other info, is to gain entry to your exchange accounts. They are scamming people left and right to gain personal information. Police and Interpol have been notified. I’m coming for you. ### 1/5 — Lol! *2021-06-25, version 1.15.5* Yes I’m well aware of the fact I made an error by sending unsupported tokens to your wallet. Thank you for reiterating that. My frustration was that there isn’t an immediate solution (although in fact there is) but that I was ignored and treated poorly by your customer service. In fact your reply actually gives more information about my concern than I received from my previous emails with your staff who literally only said “I don’t know.” and not A word more when I followed up on my email that went ignored for weeks, until I finally called you guys out on Twitter. I happen to know for a fact it’s possible for you to recover my funds right now anytime you choose to do so. Trying to pretend like the technology to do so doesn’t exist is just more proof that you guys are borderline scam artists. Until I get my funds back I will continue to spread the word and tell people to avoid your wallet at all costs. It’s only fair. If one trades a lot or hodl’s longterm more than a few currencies I would say this is pretty worth it. My main complaint is that all of the freewallet apps aren’t able to go through one account. I downloaded a few others and didn’t realize until afterward this was an option and it made me have different accounts for each one. I would normally say that’s my bad but it literally made me use a different email because mine was “already in use” due to having signed up for a different separate freewallet app. It seems pretty silly that they won’t let you use the same email because it’s all freewallet but you also can’t have them all linked because they’re separate apps. **Developer response:** Hi Edward, thank you for reporting this issue. I would give the app 4.5 stars itself. The real issue for me has been with support. I tried moving a lot of money out of my account on April 22 and they locked my account. I wasn’t even mad Bc they were protecting my investment. They asked that I provide an insane amount of documentation to prove my identity. Again, I didn’t mind Bc they were protecting my money. After I provided the information they requested, they replied asking for a few more pieces of ID. Again, I didn’t mind. Now it is May 3rd and I still have to hear back from them. I have reached out to them via Twitter, Facebook, and Telegram and I have received no help whatsoever. I received an email from someone in support with a very generic solution which didn’t even attempt to address my issue. They have literally cost me thousands of dollars at this point. I understand that it is a free service and you get what you pay for. I hope the dozens of other people that I saw in the forums asking for help to access their hard earned money realize this as well. Update June 3, 2021 Still no resolution to my problem. Dogecoin MISSING from wallet *2024-03-24* After 6 years of holding Dogecoin in Freewallet without any issues, two uninitiated withdrawals were made from my wallet one week apart, one at the end of January and another in the first week of February 2024. The only comment was “Inactivity Fee” for both. The total amount removed was 770 Doge (approximately 130 USD). How is it that after years of holding, suddenly a wallet claiming to be FREE (Freewallet, that is your name, yes?) starts taxing me? I never had a negative experience until now, but I will be moving all my assets out ASAP. I alone hold my private keys, so only the DEVS of Freewallet could be capable of taking my cryptocurrency. SHAMEFUL and TREACHEROUS THIEVES! Update: The Freewallet FAQ webpage states: “Sending and receiving crypto assets between the Freewallet members, as well as holding them in the wallets is 100% free.” After writing the first review, I attempted to send my assets to another wallet, and wouldn’t you know, all of a sudden the transactions failed and my account is suspended! Now my assets are frozen and I will have to open a ticket and hope for the support team to be helpful. Your User ID would be very helpful, too. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2024-01-20* The app is alright but the company is ineffectual at best - and their customer service non-existent. After using the app for years, my account was abruptly suspended with no meaningful reason given, other than a generic “violation of ToS” notice that failed to demonstrate which part of the ToS had been violated. Months and months have gone by, repeatedly sending unanswered support tickets with the goal of trying to understand what I’d done wrong and what I could do to correct my mistake. This means that my funds are in limbo, since the “violation of ToS” has put a hold on my account. I am cheekily reminded by the app that I can submit a report ticket if I need help whenever my withdrawal attempts are rejected. At least the app doesn’t crash. I’m going to file charges *2023-06-20* You have my money or my crypto and I want it back! I’m trying to see if I can file charges at this point! You made me do two weeks of useless stuff only to hear after I get it all done that my 1 yr old apple iPhone was the issue and I needed to get a new one! I’m not allowed to screen record my acct from uphold which is what your after so therefor I cannot get my money back! Apple and uphold should know about this and know what your forcing us to do if we want our money back! You are not going to get away with treating people this way! Over 50 emails dozens of videos, countless screen shots… all of my acct and for one simple transaction from uphold to free wallet that had my wallet address correct to me with my name on all of it! I know I sent it because I did get a reply back. I’m fed up with Freewallet. Before you download this app or make an online account, do yourself a lifesaving favor and research them. Don’t go by the App Store reviews because mines not on there. Doubt if this one will be too. I’m gonna make push to take this app off of the app store then Google play. They stole quite a bit of money from me. I wish I would’ve done some research first other than the app store. There’s nothing good said about Freewallet! ### 1/5 — Ultimately I got my money but *2022-11-21, version 1.16.10* Ok so here my story I had used this wallet way back in 2017 or so to store my crypto never had an issue when the big boom happened and the market was at its peak the app locked me out and no matter how many times I tried submitting a ticket they would send me back an email saying that they couldn’t help me that they were experiencing an overload of support request and canceled my request for help that was about 2021 early and I had almost given up try on and off for 2 years now almost until finally I got a response they were ok at getting be back on this was around this time in 2022 now my crypto value had gone from 40k down to 3000 missing my opportunity for a great sell off but the nightmare didn’t stop their from watching it go down from 3000 to half because it took 2 weeks because of inconsistent and 12-3am responses my time to un suspended my account and finally I was able to move off the platform to sell my crypto but my experience definitely was not good for a wallet was happy I didn’t loose it all but wish I could have sold during the high market value **Developer response:** Hello, we are sorry that the verification procedure caused this kind of inconvenience to you. I had a friend loan me some money but all he had was crypto so he sent it litecoin well if you don’t constantly check the app to see which wallets there doing upgrades to or servicing then you can receive the crypto but nothing which is utterly ridiculous if they’re working on any wallet then they shouldn’t let anything go through to that wallet and you should be notified of this. Contacted support with just a question of best guess estimate as to when they’d be finished and they said they have no answer they just said that the notification for wallet will removed when completed. Check Reddit. Multiple stories of people depositing money and funds go missing. Same thing happened to me they had deposit info for a Crypto with the wallet address and I sent my funds there and they never showed up and now they’re telling me they don’t have that chain in their wallet which is not true. There are specific directions for the chain I used in their wallet with an address. Also when you set the wallet up there is no seed phrase which is super suspect I should’ve known better. Void this wallet at all costs. ### 1/5 — Wallet is fine; service is horrible. *2021-10-24, version 1.16.5* Reported a bug with their app. Completed their troubleshooting. Bug persisted. Absolutely refused to believe their was a bug in their system. Tried to twist my words to make it seem like it was my problem and not theirs. There are too many other wallets out there for me to deal with that kind of behavior from their service department. No thanks. They’ll let you deposit coins but make it EXTREMELY difficult to withdraw. I made ONE typo while adding my email address in the application process and the app doesn’t allow you to change it within the app. Only their “engineers” can make changes. No phone number to call. Only option was to email them, they send you an automated email back with a ticket number, then they get back with you in a week or so if you’re lucky. Had to hire a hacker to get my ETH back. Don’t believe me, go to Google and type in this app and read the reviews yourself. Almost all of them will tell you the same. I don’t even understand why they’re still in the App Store. It worked to send ETH, convert into BNB, then send to my TrustWallet. The problem arose when I sent BNB back to the FreeWallet. To deposit BNB in the FreeWallet, a second ID is needed along with the contract address. TrustWallet does not provide a second ID option before sending. Like an idiot, I sent anyways, and now my BNB is lost. Or sitting in their account, convenient for them. Also, this second ID was not required when sending ETH. These apps should be made idiot proof or at least a warning to the idiots that use them. In email correspondence, they claimed there is a warning, but I imagine that's buried in the fine print. It's definitely not in the display when copying the contract address. The wallet was a great starting point for me to enter the world of crypto, and just like that, I showed this world to my friends thanks to it.
