I had high hopes for this app since I just got a freeze dry machine and have been following Whitepepper farms. But after logging batch #2, the app freezes and I can’t navigate away from the pop up. I’ve deleted and reloaded the app and nothing is changing. I’ll keep checking back for a fix because I really wanted this to work

**Developer response:** Thanks for giving Freeze Dry Buddy a shot, and congratulations on the new machine. We are genuinely sorry it locked up on you right out of the gate.

After you log a batch, the app shows a short celebration popup, and on some devices that popup could fail to close and trap you, exactly as you described. We have tracked it down and a fix is on the way in the next update.

We would love for you to stick with us. Please give it another try when the update arrives, and thank you for taking the time to tell us what happened.

Trying this out for the first time on a very overfilled run of apples. I was super excited with how everything was going especially logging weights for the first run. 

I knew I would be away from the freeze dryer for an extended period of time so I added an extra 24 hours dry time knowing I would have time to package it the next day. Yes, it’s a waste of time and electricity I am fully aware, but here is where my issue was found. When I went back to the app this morning before work to confirm that no additional weight had been lost over the last day planning on packaging over my lunch hour. it would not allow me to log an additional weight. It only allowed me to cancel the cycle or finish the cycle. It really needs an option to continue the cycle.

Edited to add: Once this is corrected I will absolutely be giving 5 stars.

I have literally only just scratched the surface but I like what I see so far. It gave me easy to read setting for the first thing I asked to do (bananas) I had done a few batches before but not as the settings that Brandon  suggested. I am excited to dial in my FD and not waste my time.

The Freeze Dry Buddy Cookbook is now in the app. See the founding edition from your Today screen, read what is inside it, and reserve a copy.

Recipe cards now show the water loss you have measured yourself across your own runs, with the water to add back per 100g dried, and the rehydration calculator uses that rate instead of a single batch.

Brandon's published recipes now run on the exact temperatures he set, and a scanned sweet recipe files under sweet snacks rather than candy.

Find any recipe while logging, choose which foods to save from mixed batches, keep private ratings and a Want to try list, see Brandon's newest recipes first, and edit every recipe detail and machine setting before publishing corrections.

Photograph a handwritten recipe card or a cookbook page and it becomes a real card in your Library, with the food, ingredients, method, settings, and pull cue already filled in. Your first three scans are free.

You can now delete a recipe you created yourself. The card and its photo go, and every run you logged with it stays in your batch history.

Your pantry files plural food names correctly, so peaches, tomatoes, radishes, and brussels sprouts land on the right shelf.

Ending Pro now shows what you have preserved and answers the reason you are leaving before it hands you to the store.

Setup is shorter and no longer interrupts you partway through.

- Your starter recipe now stays on the Today screen for good, even if it's a Pro recipe.
