The brainchild of a primary school teacher Céline Lebel at TFS – Canada’s International School, the app was developed to further student engagement and practise by using a technology-based method. Classroom tested and approved, the app is geared to students from Senior Kindergarten through Grade 2. It teaches children how to correctly write letters in cursive using visual modelling, and follows the French “Seyes” lining for height and stroke. Positive feedback is instantaneous, to encourage improvement. Through tracking mastered letters, Écrire en cursive continuously motivates students. New letters are presented in a structured sequence, designed to provide both fun and challenge.
