### 4/5 — Great!

*2013-03-14, version 3.3*

This app is really great, smooth, helpful interface, lots of helpful information! But as a beginning French minor, I wish the the definitions had a translated definition. I do understand that it might be difficult to work in, especially since I'm sure the developers want it to appeal more to anyone, not just English speakers. Really helpful though, and I have a translation app for when I don't understand certain words. Great job!

### 4/5 — Dictionnaire est bon mais jeux terrible

*2012-05-20, version 3.0*

le dictionnaire est très bon mais les jeux sont très mauvais.

### 4/5 — Excellent

*2011-08-23, version 2.2.1*

Excellent app. Conjugation is very helpful and convenient to have. Would be great with sound.

### 5/5 — The best French-French Dictionary

*2011-06-23*

I've bought many dictionary apps for language learning. For French I bought both Larrouse and Le Robert, and I believe that le Robert is much more serious than Larrouse, although the latter is cheaper. The definition is precise and comprehensive, it is very much like the paper edition of Le Petit Robert.
You can even find the indefinetive verb when you seach a conjugated verb, which means you don't have to carry the heavy conjugation books again. It is the best dictionary that I've come across. If I bought this first, then I wouldn't need to buy any other French-French dictionary app.
Merci beaucoup Le Robert!

### 5/5 — THE BEST - THANK YOU !!!!

*2011-06-05*

I have uploaded this apps on my iTouch. This is an incredible knowledge and learning tool. A must have for anyone who speaks or learns French. I wish there was a Blackberry version. It conjugates the verbs, provide etymologies and synonyms. It's way easier to use than the paper version and you can carry it with you all the time. Just brilliant, the best investment.

### 5/5 — Superb, my favourite language app and dictionary

*2011-04-11*

I studied French at University some years ago, when I had the printed version of Le Petit Robert (a very hefty tome). I wish I'd had this app then! I love the way it presents definitions, context sentences, and features such as the word's frequency. The look up version is very good. I'm surprised and disappointed this app is so unknown.

### 5/5 — It works very well - quite a bargain

*2011-04-04, version 2.2.1*

I have been using this for many months and it works flawlessly. One of my favorite uses is the verb conjugation, it works much better than the Collins bilingual dictionary. The locutions are also very helpful. I can't imagine being without this app.

### 5/5 — Best app ever

*2011-03-07, version 2.2.1*

Mon iPhone est devenu mon dictionaire plutot que mon telephone.

### 5/5 — An excellent monolingual French dictionary

*2010-12-02, version 2.2.1*

I'll write this review in English, assuming that the majority of the customers of Apple's US App Store are Anglophone, or are at least English-competent.

This is a terrific value. The underlying dictionary is excellent; the use of many well-chosen usage examples, the presence of etymological information, IPA representations of pronunciations which might not follow phonetic norms, very thorough support for synonyms and antonyms, for conjugation of verbs, and for locutions make the definitions exceptionally useful. The addition of proper names to the normal lexical corpus is an interesting and useful one, saving many trips to the encyclopedia when "just enough" information suffices, for example, when an unfamiliar historical or political name is encountered while reading.

The UI is very well-designed: layouts are clear, legible, and logical; there is a beautifully-designed hyperlink and history mechanism; control over the display font size makes it easy to read the entries; and full support for landscape mode makes reading large blocks of text - for instance in biographical entries - more like reading printed text. The inclusion of frequency information is decidedly non-typical, as is that of hyphenation information. Even the games are worth playing to increase one's vocabulary.

I'd love to see the addition of lemmatized searches, phonetic searches, and the inclusion of IPA in every definition.

I think the only equal to this monolingual French dictionary in the App Store is that by Éditions Larousse. Given that both the Robert and the Larousse are so reasonably priced for their quality, I'd suggest you buy them both. One is not better than the other, and the ability to compare high-quality definitions is often very useful in getting a full understanding of an unfamiliar word.

### 5/5 — Formidable !

*2010-10-15, version 0*

Le meilleur dico, et de loin ! Continuez comme ça !

### 5/5 — Excellent disctionnaire

*2010-10-13*

### 5/5 — The Best

*2015-01-30, version 4.1*

Have always considered Le petit Robert the best French French dictionary and the Mobile Robert continues that same tradition.

### 5/5 — A must for the iFrancophone

*2014-05-28*

I see from my initial review of V2.2 that I have been using this dictionary for nearly four years, and it deserves at least one review for the current version. I now have it on iPAD (iOS 7.1) and iPhone (iOS 5.1). It is a super resource and has some quite obscure words useful when reading old novels. I also enjoy trying the anagrams which, for someone 50 years younger, would be good practice for cementing word endings in the brain. It has more functionality than other dictionaries - the only thing missing is spoken pronunciation, although the letter by letter pronunciation guide is quite neat

I'm not aware of any bugs.

### 5/5 — Excellent French dictionary

*2014-01-21*

The best feature is that it will looks for an approximate match to your search which means you don't have to know the exact spelling of the searched word. Very good synonyms and verbs tables.

### 5/5 — Wow! I

*2012-11-05, version 3.2*

I wish other developers of dictionaries could learn something from this incredible piece of art.
I'm learning French and this dictionary is helping me a lot. I'm surprised how smoothy it runs both in my ipod touch and my ipad.
I highly recomend this dictionary who anyone who's learning frech (in case you already speak french this is the best dictionary you could ever get). It has so many features that really enhance the learning experience. just get it, you won't regret it.
My only suggestion to the developers would be to add audio to the entries (I honestly wouldn't mind to pay an extra 0.99 cents for that) prefferably downloadable so it could be used without internet connection.

I also have dictionaries in English, Spanish and Italian and can't understand how come none of these developers have come even close to the high quality of this dictionary. So congratulations to Dixel movile for such a great app.

### 5/5 — Génial!

*2012-10-26*

Très bon dictionnaire! En plus il peut être consulté sans connexion Internet! Bravo leRobert! Je pense que la seule chose qui a besoin de travaux est le visuel des menus en bas d'écran et les jeux. Peu importe. :) J'adore! Es-ce que le texte sera mis à jour avec les nouvelles éditions du Robert Illustré?

### 5/5 — Choice

*2012-08-25*

This is simply stunningly good, and is now the French Dictionary of choice offering an array of options and facilities which utterly belies its very modest price.

### 5/5 — Superb !!

*2012-06-05, version 3.1*

This dictionary is fantastic! I am a moderately advanced in my study of French, ready for a French only dictionary like this one. This new version includes phonetic characters indicating the pronunciation of every entry. It's very easy to find a word, and to find synonyms and especially expressions and locutions, which can be tough to find in other dictionaries.

### 5/5 — Très complet

*2011-08-24*

Ce dictionnaire est très complet et très rapide. De plus, nous avons le dictionnaire des mots croisés et des jeux de mots.
