### 5/5 — Awesome method, works great with AirPods and Apple Watch

*2020-03-31, version 1.6.0*

The method is great, the app is good, what I love the most is that it works with my Apple Watch and AirPods so I can use it on the go. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Excellent for learning French

*2019-08-14, version 1.6.0*

This is the best audio that I have found for learning French.
Works for beginners and intermediate French students, with slow and street speed available on audio.
Used in concert with text, it covers grammar as well in easy bite-sized chunks.
Excellent for those who want to speak French or speak it better.

### 4/5 — Method is phenomenal!

*2019-04-23, version 1.4.2*

Camille’s method of teaching French is absolutely amazing! How she uses an actual storyline to teach French you’ll actually use is great.

She also does an awesome job breaking down verbs, conjugations, grammar, and expressions.

Pretty unique to this method is Camille’s use of 3 different “speeds”. If you know anything about French, you’d know that written and spoken French are almost like 2 separate languages. Camille does a great job helping to bridge that gap by teaching both ways using the “speeds”.

“Street” French includes the common gliding and pronunciation differences in natural, spoken French.

I’ve learned so much with this method! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the fastest “speed” is too slow. I wish there was a way to play it back faster so it actually sounds like the French do talking to each other on the street. (a lot faster)

### 5/5 — Great way to learn French!

*2018-11-16, version 1.4.1*

I’ve been studying French nonstop for the past several months, mostly by using these audiobooks. The vocabulary is very practical for my upcoming trip to Paris. The storyline is captivating. I eagerly await each new installment.

### 4/5 — Top class product for French learners

*2018-07-17, version 1.3*

Before spending a fortune on other well marketed & known software products for language try this. It’s not priced exorbitantly as those well known major brands but I feel the results & value for money is far superior.

### 5/5 — Great information, very clearly presented

*2017-07-21, version 1.2.1*

The content that I've purchased (beginner level books) are great. I've been simultaneously learning French with the Pimsleur approach, which, while very good for learning French, does not provide any explanation. The French Today lessons provide really excellent and informative explanations about various language topics. The audio part is very clear and easy to understand. This is a really great supplement to other learning tools. Plus, I really enjoy their blog posts sent as emails, including the most recent one giving the names of yoga poses in French - very interesting for me as an avid yogi. I also identified a small bug with the app which they were very responsive about fixing.

### 5/5 — Must Have !!!

*2017-07-06, version 1.2.1*

This app is a must have for French Today Audio Books. It transforms your learning experience into playtime. No more fumbling with navigating PDF readers, audio players, and explorer to change speed and chapters. Very clean user interface that does everything you can think of, including the magical 15-second forward and back, sync PDF to audio button, and simple speed selection. This is truly the 'free razor' and should sell Audio Books like hot cakes (les gateaux chauds).

### 5/5 — Great app

*2017-06-03, version 1.1*

I really love it

### 5/5 — Excellent tool for language instruction

*2017-02-17, version 1.1*

This is an excellent tool for language instruction. It has four main components: a library window to easily see which books you have available; a window for reading the written content of each book; an audio control panel for controlling playback of the three available versions of the audio (slow, normal, and street), and a table of contents for easily navigating through the sections of the book)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2016-10-09, version 1.1*

I love this app! The integration of the text with the audio makes the audiobooks so much more productive for me.

### 5/5 — What an improvement !! Great way to learn French!

*2016-10-01, version 1.1*

I have been a subscriber for Camille's audio books for a few years. Her teaching and clarity of her voice, pronunciation have been unparalleled. But I had to use PC, listen to her audio files and try to follow PDF files at the same time. It got cumbersome and I gave up on it. Now with this app, I have iPhone 6 Plus and Bluetooth ear piece, can listen and follow along her writing with no effort. I am fully satisfied. When I got e-mail notice of its availability, I downloaded the app immediately but the app was quitting on me. So I e-mailed and Olivier immediately got back to me and alerted that he was working on it. Few days later, I am extremely satisfied and appreciate their efforts to make learning French a joy. Thanks, Olivier and Camille.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Such a shame!

*2020-10-12, version 1.7.0*

The app itself is so frustrating, it freezes, crashes when you change chapters, jumps backwards when you pause via Bluetooth, decides to repeat sections then freezes and needs to be restarted. I have downloaded on various iOS devices, and reinstalled many times and still the same.
Since it is an 'audio' method the app needs to function properly for hands free in a car. It has become so annoying I am not going to buy the final book of the series, which is a pity as the last 2 audiobooks themselves that I bought are fine in content and method.

Thank you Olivier@French Today (10/09/20) for your reply. However it is the current version 1.7 and has been downloaded and re-installed multiple times on 2 different iPhones and an iPad all running latest iOS system. And the problems described happen on them all. It gives me no pleasure to leave a review like this as I would gladly buy the last book in the series however as the App works so poorly it is more frustrating than it is worth.
With 4 written reviews and 2 of those saying there is a problem with the App freezing, I would suggest there is an issue with your App...

### 1/5 — do not get if you dont want to pay

*2020-09-15, version 1.7.0*

OMG they only give us short books. Do not get this if you dont want to pay...

### 1/5 — Freezes

*2019-07-27, version 1.5.1*

Freezes when you download and try to play the free audiobook to check it out

### 1/5 — Dissapointed

*2019-03-21, version 1.4.2*

Downladed this app today, and spent 60 bucks for the first audio books, which turned out to be just a simple introduction with zero actual French lessons. Additionally, the audio books keep crashing the app.
What a waste of money!

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2017-07-05, version 1.2*

Every time I try to use the app it crashes

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2017-06-24, version 1.1*

Rubbish and junk app

### 1/5 — Will not open

*2017-06-21, version 1.1*

Crashes on open iPad Air.

### 1/5 — Crashes immediately after logging in...

*2016-09-23, version 1.0*

Unable to fully evaluate the app because it crashes immediately after logging in. I love the books which I purchased before the app came out.

### 2/5 — Not so modern method

*2021-05-17, version 1.7.1*

I bought this thinking it would be a more contemporary way of learning. Unfortunately I bought into the ‘speaking street french’ sales pitch. It’s not. It’s very traditional and old school. Throws you straight into the needing to know language labelling & conjugating verbs immediately. Without any explanations or context. This is no different from the majority for teaching apps & online lessons. Other methods e.g. Learn french with Alexa is the same but more accessible & mainly free.

### 3/5 — iPad login error

*2024-09-03, version 2.0.5*

After installing and trying to log in to an existing paid account, I receive this error: JSON could not be serialised because the data is not in the correct format. I tried to reinstall the app but didn't help. Any solution?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very well made app

*2022-08-16, version 1.7.4*

App is very well made. Has a lot of intuitive functions for the learner. Like switching the translations on and off with a button. The interface is also well made. No problems so far. Curriculum is very in depth and just what I was looking for.

### 5/5 — Best French Course and Best French Teacher

*2022-07-16, version 1.7.4*

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Camille and Olivier's frenchtoday is everyday French, not classroom French. Their audio books and lessons are exceptionally well thought out and presented. Their frenchtoday app is intuitive and pleasent to use, and their audio books and lessons are simplly the best of the best.

### 5/5 — BEST FRENCH COURSE ON THE MARKET !

*2022-03-09, version 1.7.2*

Camille's French Today Audiobook method is second to none!

I taught myself Dutch 30 years ago and realize now, why it was so easy for me. I was married to a Dutch man who was patient and kind enough to show me how he positioned his mouth and spoke slowly and told me how he was pronouncing the letters/words. I had an in home teacher. After learning on my own for 2 years I went to an intensive course and they were shocked at how well I pronounced the Dutch language as well as able to read and write in Dutch.
I have faith I will do the same eventually, with French.
I am now in Tahiti living on a boat and both of us wanted to learn French, but did not want to be burdened with having to go ashore for French tutoring. We also learn at different speeds and this would have been discouraging for one of us if we had the same teacher.....

If you are serious and dedicated you can learn with this method. Camille's voice is beautiful, clear and her pronunciation is perfect. I have never taken any French classes in school and was expecting to have had a basic knowledge of French like every other method online or app expects of you. I have tried many, many apps, YouTube courses, online courses - paid/free etc. Some are okay, but they did not do it for me.
Camille's is perfect for the dedicated willing student.
Oh, I am so thrilled with her teaching method of Audio /written book method. I am a visual person as well. One of the methods I tried was Pimsler method, which is perfect for some, but it failed just 100 % for me. I could not slow it down enough to understand it. I needed to be able to see the written words and hear it slowly and clearly pronounced and Camille is just brilliant! The format is easy and I can repeat, repeat, repeat and review just as much as I need. She understands that some people need to be started with the very basic. That's me, and others can jump ahead that's my husband. My husband could skip and move ahead because of his Dutch, he already had the basics of the alphabet and mouth / tongue positions.
Camille actually starts at the beginning with the alphabet then has pictures and instructions for how to pronounce the letter, or combined letters in your mouth = tongue placement and everything. This may sound strange, but it is exactly how I learned Dutch and so appreciative for this. It's like having my "in home teacher again" It is how we learned from out parents, by watching their mouth and listening to them over and over. I can control my own pace. I am gaining confidence.

I can not say enough wonderful things about this course. It is just what my husband and I were searching for and very happy to find. She has it all, visual, audio with three speeds and even Street French.

I am so excited and thrilled to find her course and am grateful for her and her husband's patience with me during the purchase process. If you have questions, concerns, or need to add to your purchase, they get back to you and help you every step of the way. That is rare in this digital age. Camille and Oliver....Thank you very very much. I hope to meet you both one day and speak to you in French.

### 5/5 — Well done

*2021-03-07, version 1.7.1*

It’s a solid course of real spoken french with tons of audio, dialogues, vocabulary, grammar and exercises. Obviously, the author made a tremendously hard job to do it. I tried a lot of different apps like Rocket French, Yabla, Babbel, Rosetta Stone and others, but so far this one is one of the best and my favorite! I also like the fact that here you pay once and learn it at your own pace. Definitely worth a try!

### 5/5 — Paying for this app’s audiobooks is worth it

*2020-12-27, version 1.7.1*

I take continuing education courses for a French certificate and am always on the lookout for good materials to learn more and keep practicing.

This app and the audiobooks made by French Today are amazing. You can even see it in the free sample chapters they offer. Compared to taking a course, or even to other audio options like Pimsleur, it’s really great value. You get a *lot* of hours of A+ content for your investment.

The stories are entertaining, it focuses on building up vocab so that you can be confident in conversations, and the structure is really well thought out. I use the audiobook along with Anki and it’s a very fun and effective way to study.

### 5/5 — Well presented

*2020-10-25, version 1.7.1*

The packages include the ability to reveal the text in English if needed, hear the French spoken in three speeds and practice exercises.
French Today is a complete method, Camille has a Facebook page with videos etc to practice and learn French, a
signup for weekly emails and more. All well presented.

### 5/5 — Excellent French lessons by French Today

*2020-10-15, version 1.7.0*

I have used various apps and CD’s for learning French and French Today is by fat the best.
C’est très magnifique, j’aime vraiment ça.

### 5/5 — French today is a treasure trove for French students

*2020-10-15, version 1.7.0*

There really is so much more than just the great audio books on this app and the French today site. I’m currently up to the intermediate levels and it’s been so helpful to me. Merci Camille and Olivier!

### 5/5 — Excellent way to learn the French Language

*2020-10-09, version 1.7.0*

Thank you to you all for your wonderful interesting and personal way of teaching French. They verb and number drills are very helpful. Merci beaucoup.

### 5/5 — Tailored to your level

*2020-07-14, version 1.7.0*

As an intermediate French speaker I struggle to find learning content tailored to my needs. So many apps are geared towards beginners. I am left to sort through authentic content by myself. After taking the free placement test on Camille’s site she paired me with content that is understandable yet challenging. The perfect blend to make me feel confident, curious, and engaged. I am learning new things while reinforcing what I already know. She is an expert educator who teaches street and textbook French at the same time.
