There is no (short/simple) manual how to set to measure frequency or…. This one kind of does that, for the first note presented to it, but fails to change its output when the tone changes. It sort of works if I keep shutting it down and restarting it, but that’s not very convenient. My own stupidity. ### 3/5 — Limited and inaccurate! *2017-10-20* It does work as a frequency meter but is somewhat limited. It doesn’t work on frequencies below 150 HZ . I tested it on 150HZ then 120 HZ. It showed a harmonic of 120 HZ. 99 cents would have been a fair price. Especially since it appropriated the fluke meter style to elicit confidence and imply compared results. ### 1/5 — Utterly useless *2017-05-20, version 1.0.9* As I play notes on a guitar, the frequencies displayed are all over the place and bear no resemblance to the frequencies being played. I want my money back. For example: for frequency 300Hz meter shows 283 or 312Hz. Nothing more between this two values. On other frequencies is the same. I was trying to determine if the frequency on my keyboard was accurate (I can change the frequency on my keyboard). I’ve done this in the past with other frequency detectors. Even though you can actually HEAR the difference, this app does not register this change. For instance at A=440, the app says 441.39. When my instrument is tuned to A=300, this app says 441.39. Only when I tune to A=190 it changed to 417. So absolutely useless. ### 1/5 — Not working properly, Don’t waste your money on that tuner *2019-02-04* Fake meter. Not accurate. Today I tested piano frequency on this metre but it does not show the accurate frequency. In whole octave from c to b of 2nd octave it detects only 2 frequencies which are also wrong. ### 1/5 — Useless *2018-12-16* Cannot get repeatable date using a tuning fork. With this tool it is possible to filter out the different frequencies of each of the sources of sound in a room. It is possible to check the function of ultrasonic devises used to scare away rats or similar animals. The App can even be used to detect harmonics of sources of sound. Of course that you have to consider the capabilities of the used hardware. A modern iPhone 14 will produce more accurate results compared to a iPad Air II of more than 7 years old. She made a drinking straw flute and took readings of frequency and length of straw as the straw was repeatedly shortened. The device gave precise readings to two decimal places and repeat readings were identical. We were delighted. A quick e-mail with a prompt response set me right and I'm up and running. Accuracy was good & fell within + or- 5 Hz compared to a much more expensive pc based programme which also gave harmonics' frequencies & a graph. More details / instructions would be useful, hence the msiising star, since apart from determining frequency of sound, it is not clear what other functions this offers, or indeed how to use the other buttons, Lastly - future upgrades could increase the size of the data presentation screen.
